I refuse play into your whole online Journey v. Survivor. I only know Good music, good songs......Unlike many of you who only know bickering over bands and artists......There are far better ways to spend my time. Such as cracking the windows and blasting lots of 80s and todays bands not giving two shits about who is better or who has sampled or sued who. Good music is Good music!
@Zimon1987 --- I had the privilege of working with both Survivor and Journey (in that order) "back in the day".
With that said, it is my informed opinion that BOTH of these bands were incredibly talented (in ALL their various incarnations), but in completely different ways, and to try and compare which was "better" is a fool's errand at best.
To each their own, eye (or ear?) of the beholder, and all that, if you get my drift.
@Zimon1987 - I like Survivor, they were current when I was in Jr. Hi and HS. However, they're not as technically competent as Journey (Neal Schon/John Cain/Steve Perry/Ross Vallory). Hands down, Journey is more prolific and more popular.
@Zimon1987 I dunno about that mate. i love both Survivor AND Journey, However, Steve Perry remains the Best ever singer! No one even comes close to this man.
@MAGNUM2F Yeah, maybe that's true technically. But for me - he wails too much. Survivor songs just seem more catchy and more Hard Rock also. I guess that's why I prefer them. I just think they are very underrated. I find that in many cases. AC/DC are like 25 times more popular than Scorpions, but I really think the latter are miles better... =P
I was too young for this the first time round... got someone way younger than me into them over the weekend... now he's buying everything they have. SURVIVOR will um, SURVIVE.
@gh0stm0n Good on ya! Quality music truly is timeless, and the younger folks need to be enlightened about the time when music was played by people and not machines.
Great song by a very great band. Saw Survivor 2 different times with REO; blew them away both times. Amazing how such a great song (like so many Survivor tunes) are almost forgotten, except by their fans. Thanks for posting this classic!!

Saw them open for Jefferson Starship in '80. Didn't know anyone else even heard of this song. Reminds me of Styx - Lights from Cornerstone
