Drugs are not why he wears sunglasses on stage. He was one of my dads best friends and my dad says that the band had a very strict policy about not being drunk or high or anything while they played. He also says that, knowing Layne, he would just wear them for looks.

Bullshit, there is an interview on here where layne was talking about doing tequilla slammers and some other shit and falling off stage after being so thrashed. And you can't tell me that layne never played a show while high on smack.
