  • at 5:20 the vibrations from the nibbler makes leaves walk accross the roof metal :)

  • score, btw what state are you in?

  • Awesome stuff Jamie!

    You make me happy.

  • I hope the last post went thru... anyhow to continue... overlap and zip tie together the ends of the lattice, stand it up to make a ring with it, then i am sure you can picture the rest... Mine worked great for 2 years (til a tree crushed it this spring), but i'll be making another one before winter. What do you use for poly ???, as i am getting tired of the pricey, yet low quality poly film and tarps available at the home depot.

  • Hi Jaimie, I just watched a few clips, and i have to say...cool structure, I've made a few bowed stapping, and poly film roofs on a work shed and a pool house, and i have built several unique quick fab, low budget, home made structures, although on a much smaller scale than your dome. Here is a list for a dome i built for firewood, i call it the woodglue, it can be built with 4- 2'x8' lattice, 10- 10'x 3/4 grey conduit w/ 4-T's, a 100 or so of the black 14" zipties, rope, and a tarp thats it.

  • Prayers for your cold. Say! you might consider producing a T-Shirt video segment, 15-30 seconds, to tack on after the credits of each installment (eh, to be commercially evil, tack it on the front!). Of course, soon, your toys will make you a quadrillionaire so it won't matter, but still... repetition repetition repetition. cut and paste SOMETHING to remind folks about the T-shirts.

  • Get well, get well soon, we want you to get well! :-)

  • Dude, we need to see the sollution and the rest of the roof story, dont leave us hanging like this. Good job btw

  • oops, this was more for the sawmill vid than this one :P

but the offer still stands :)

  • the real problem with this setup is the blade is kinda small and you lose a lot with that mandrel behind the nut1"x4" to 4"x8" is about the usable range.

Now, I got one of those 20" Gravely-type blades that I would send you in exchange for a shirt and maybe a hat! has a 1" hole and the smaller holes for the screws to keep it from spinning. If you have enough motor it would allow about a 17" cut in 2 passes. the kerf is kinda wide but it was sharpened before I got it and it has carbide cutters

  • Oh shit, look at all that good stuff! Its like all your Christmases have come at once

  • 1:47 yehayehayea haha funny

  • Hey Jamie - easy way to get the metal on the roof. Weld an eyelet to the end of your vice grips. Tie a rope on the vice grips and lock them onto the metal and pull them up the side of the building. (Don't have D stand underneath it)

  • @michaeljamesdenny i was going to suggest the same thing

  • Vise grips and a rope works good for getting the tin to the top lol.

  • The nibbler, what a god send for you, Quicker, you don't waist cutting wheels, That was a great gift.

  • Awesome find. You are so lucky people send you stuff. I would have to agree, Use some of the wood to ramp over to the building. And who is the chick? Looks like you are building a harem.

  • a 4.5 inch grinder with a zipcut disk on it is a really quick way to cut roof steel, easy to set fire to dead leaves with the sparks though.

  • I hope you feel better soon, and I am glad you found parts for many of your projects :)

  • If only all of life's interesting and cool projects were perfectly and evenly spaced apart. Doh!

  • 6:39 Jme's sheild generator.

  • that'a no a nibbler, that's a shear, a nibbler cuts tiny cresent moon shaped pieces that get stuck in your shoes. it nibbles not cut, yes it cuts but differently( i own both type ;) )

  • @jacktheripped A Nibbler is a cute black creature that wears a nappy and poops rocket fuel.

  • @TheGreatSteve

    Bwah ha ha! Yer right!

  • @jacktheripped Yeah, ive used a nibbler before and to be honest it wastes so much metal. It just cuts out so many toenail shaped pieces.. ugh. An electric shear is a lot better.

  • Raaa im so jealous of your lifestyle haha. if it involved flying I'd drop everything and do it

  • sweet what you going to do with all that lumber?

guess you can put off the lumber mill for awhile

  • Jamie... sick? Guess you got too excited about all that stuff you got.

  • Haha awesome! We've got a nibbler at college (Vehicle bodys) You must now master the Violent shake technique in order to keep it going when it gets stuck. Or that could just be our crappy one, that one looks quite neat. =] Good luck bro!

  • Snacks!

  • :O i really need a nibbler now! so cool. hope you feel better soon!

  • awesome

  • Could make two rails out of all the wood you snagged, go from log to roof, screw it to the log, then you got a thing to slide all the metal on.

Still looking good, nice haul of stuff too.

  • @13igAdam2040 Yep. thats what I did. :-P

  • woo hoo I helped, sort of!

  • dude you have some of the best most neato scores!!

i hope ya feel better and the wyfe told me to tell your gurlie hi and stuff

  • You need to have one of your wood roof panels removable so you can get big stuff up on the roof.

  • i'm excited about the lumber mill! It looked like it was coming along nicely!

Good luck with the roof, hopefully all your pieces fit :)

  • love the look after the 'she's excited about the wood' comment.

  • @madassbadgers haha, i was thinking the same
