You miserable load of toerags. This cars a beauty. Plenty of space, rides well, powerful and low emissions. Try crossing some parts of Europe (and even here) in winter and you'll be grateful for a 4x4. Wise up punks!

So, this is why I just can't understand the point of this things. A range rover makes much more sense.

You're right but a Range Rover costs north of £50K. A Discovery costs north of £45K. Both vehicles are better. A Freelander is in a similar bracket and off road is better. However I spend 95% of my time in benign road conditions and for me the X3, with it's frugal engine and good load space is just right. I get mine in April and will report if it's good or a dog. Incidentally the X3 suspension would struggle in a serious off road environment because of ground clearance.

I said the range rover (and land cruisers), because makes much more sense than any SUV current on sale.

the most powerful, economical and the greenest 2.0d engine? the best car in its class? pfaah. especially at the 50mpg part, he really got me. time after time bmw made claims about their diesels and they werent better than audis.... not even by a longshot. although i do not see the point of the x3 (x1, x6 etc and others like Q5, Q3, Q1 or GLK), id put my money, anyday on the Q5.

I had a test drive 2.0d with automatic gearbox.

Ride was fine and confy but I can not stand the noice in cabin and really weak brakes.

I would buy another 3 series rather than this X3
