Basically, Sanshou/Sanda has takedowns and throws, while Muay Thai doesn't. Sanshou doesn't allow knee or elbow strikes, and Muay Thai does. Sanda, which is unregulated Sanshou, does allow them.
in case that the other one weighs more than you all you have to do is just lower your stance...at least we are using stances...so if you lower you sei ping ma a little then you can use more power as a result to achieve the drop at someone heavier than you
