  • He is very good , a vocal style of his own , does not get the credit he deserves

  • yazz flute!

  • Like father like son!!!

  • This isn't my type of music but there's something very haunting about it....in a pleasant way.

  • Brilliant song by a brilliant Band

  • @GhostofSirJoh I'm with you on that one mate....... Just thought I would listen to it again as I'm getting married in 3 weeks. In Edinburgh not Vegas I may add, but NY for the honeymoon. All the best from ''Bonnie Scotland''.

  • I`m not sure everyone quite gets it..I remember when this album came out and if you listen to the liricks and understand that this is meant to be a cheesy vegas tune with cheesy subject matter and Frank Jr is privy to it and falls right into place with it . What a great guy to get the song and still do it !!

  • Excellent. Frank Jr. is a supreme, cool, jazz, pop singer doing this own thing and should be recognized on those merits alone. He, in my opinion, succeeds here hands down. It's also a tongue-in-cheek song and arrangement. Don't understand why some people don't understand this.

  • he's such a disappointment..

  • @snasske Has he done something to you personally?

  • @Superstarseven no, but i hoped for something more frank sinatraish, if u know what i mean, i don't mean that he's a bad musican in anyway.:)

  • @snasske I think he might be tired of living in the shadows of his father. I would be. I woud hate to hate to have to constantly be compared to my father. If you rule out the fact that he's Sinatra's son, you can tell it's good. He doesn't always have to stick to swing, you know. I'm just saying. Relax a little and listen without always trying to grasp onto other artists like our life depends on it.

  • i think we should stop comparing the sr. from the jr. Its either the junior would surpass the senior's fame or the people would still be loving the senior but other than that, the junior still has the voice of the senior and thats great.

  • grossly underrated!!

  • Frank Junior sounds so much like his dad it's uncanny - it's almost like listening to the chairman of the board himself....

  • Caught this in college when it aired. Thx for posting!

  • Thats a rather odd sentiment! Im sure Frank Jnr has his own reasons to be alive!

  • Yep ! this guy is a supercool dude .

  • nobody"s comparing to Frank Sr. , why ass u me ?

  • they should have recorded a whole album with Frank Jr., nice clear voice, perfect timing , nobody could 've done it better.

  • Too bad that ppl who never heard Frank think it's cool to listen to the junior.

    Bad singing, bad song

  • @ol0pl0x no one can compare with frankie.. exempt from dean, perhaps.. just listen to that cheesy instrumental to this song, with a wierd jazzy samurai flute?!

  • An amazing song by two great musical entities. Frank Jr, you are a great performer!

  • Brilliant...If you think this is about Frank Jr's vocal prowess or lack of.....,then you just don't get it and you never will.

  • He really doesn't have a good voice.

  • @NinjaRiise why in the heck would you say that!

  • I've always loved this song...and Frank Junior was the perfect choice on vocals on this lyrically tongue-in-cheek, yet musically gorgeous song. The flautist is Don Was and for those of you who don't feel it: It's Was, Not Was. You either get it or you don't.

  • @quackity2000 Agreed. A perfect song.

  • gross, wtf!

  • Some nice soulful flute playing by that guy in the back that I suspect may be a maniac or something.

  • You can feel the Soul in the background vocals. Sorry, can't feel anything in the lead vocals.

  • D'oh, he blew the lyrics in the second verse. Not like you'd notice unless you were a total nerd. Um. Oops. That's me.

  • does jr have kids??

  • I guess Shatner was busy at the time.

  • @ChunkyDude68 Good one, Chunky.

  • That is not Frank Sinatra

  • @melriv66 nope

but thats his son, frank sinatra jr

  • i just dont feel it

  • This is the coolest thing (except for his appearance on the Sopranos) that I have ever seen Jr. do...

The Was Bros. and their associates were geniuses, were they not?

  • Wow, what a fantastic voice! Sorry to hear about his son. :(

  • @Stunatra- Interesting how differently each of see things!

  • Amazing how the looks and voices are so very much alike! He was left a great gift!

  • @NorthwoodHigh59 It's not a gift, it's a genetic accident. And they don't look or sound all that alike.

  • @Stunatra no, they sound very alike!!!

  • @fallinglacier Get your ears, and eyes checked.

  • @Stunatra nope, mine are fine, I'm not saying that they look like twins, but they do look a little alike. However, they do sound alike by voice!

  • fukn gay

  • Check this out....Frank Sinatra Jr. being superbly backed up by some brothers.

  • @stangilmer his dad hung with sammy davis

  • this guy will unfortunately never be that famous in this modern age, but he reminds me of his dad, very cool

  • this is singing ??Is this guy married? Is there a fsIII ??

  • cool sound. voice so alike his father, still great sound of his own.

  • This looks like "Late Night with David Letterman?" Great performance. Mr. S. Junior is terrific...

  • it's like hearing his dad sing but his style which is nice

  • Frank Jr. is awesome!

Please make sure to check out 20 year old crooner JAMES DEFRANCES!!

    You will be shocked!

  • Great singer, awful song.

  • Is there more music like this? This is beautiful.

  • I am

  • father was 100% better? it has to be hard to top his father or follow in his foot steps

  • Really don't care for this although I have and LOVE his album That Face.

  • You have to understand Frank Sinatra Jr! He really is into this song.......He just has a very cool style! Great performance.

  • stiff, no style, trying to be somethings he's not. doesn't seem to be enjoying himself

  • was half expecting was not was to burst into "walk the dinosaur"

frank jr use to look like his dad when he was younger, now he looks like chevy chase, perhaps thats why he never got the same level of fame as his farther

  • Sinatra's facial expressions and hand gestures are priceless.

  • He obviously learned a lot from his pop. Just hang'in around

and watching and listening. It's too bad he didn't become as

big as he could've. Lots of great genes and real solid voice.

Be happy Mr. Frank Sinatra Jr. Lots of folks out there dig your style. Come to St.Louis again.

  • Seriously cool.

  • @scatmando man that

Junior is just as good as

his dad!!! i love the guy! wish he had alot more like this! i bump it in my car alot!!!

  • Love this song. I have this video somewhere in my stack of VHS. I think was the B Side to the Dinosaur song. SVSU

  • is that Coolio on the grey suit?!

  • @Jackiam18 It's Sweet Pea Atkinson.

  • I think Don Was made a fine choice in Sinatra Jr. for this song... it works perfectly. I think it's a great song, always did...

  • I really like this song and his singing :)

  • rlly? not sure thts true....

  • wonderfuL !

  • el es "casi la voz".

  • his voice is good, cuz he sounds exactly like his dad..but the jusic doesnt work, is like frank sinatra singing with crappy synth music in the back...doesnt work

  • I didn't like the way you phrased that comment, but I can see where you're coming from.

In a way, it's as if Frank Jr is trying to bring his father's style into the modern era of music. And you're right, it doesn't really work: at least, not like Frank Sinatra's did. To appreciate this style, I think it takes a different ear, in other words if you like the original Frank Sinatra 'style' at all, then this probably won't appeal as much to you- which is how I feel, anyway.

  • He's just not very good.

His problem wasn't being his dad's son. He was lucky to have made it as big as he did, and wouldn't have without his name.

His phrasing is choppy and repetitive, he can't hit a big note or hold it for any length of time.

I understand the man has an EXCELLENT understanding of technical music. Should have been a composer or something...

  • love this song,

  • Damn, he's good.

  • Always believed Frank Sinatra, Jr. was

a talent in his own right, plus he evokes

memories of his dad. Saw him live long

ago and in recent years, and would pay to

    see him again.

  • Seriously smooth.

  • HASN'T BEEN ... NEVER WAS

  • And you are Kurt Elling? lol

  • I think he shows better vocal control than his dad did... but that's just me.

  • I'd rather hear Frank Jr. do his old man's stuff than some Vegas imitator. He sings songs like "New York, New York" and "My Way" competently enough to invoke some fond memories of the Chairman of the Board. And the fact that he is Frank's son adds a bit of authenticity if nothing else. Hey, maybe every generation the next Sinatra offspring should keep Frank's stuff alive through touring. Why not? Peace.

  • well said mate

  • no doubt he does his dad's songs extremely well. i'd pay to see him.

  • Franks has a son with the same jeans, his teacher, dad, freind, what do you think he loves his dad if he sings like frank because he is a part of frank enjoy it a second chance, people who say any bad is just narrow minded and likes to protest everything GREAT JOB FRANKI AND THANK YOUR DAD FOR YOUR LIFE

  • You mean genes. I hate to correct you but I hate spelling errors haha.

  • Beautiful

  • Man this is almost as good as hearng the audio son the CD... YES

  • Screw comparing him to his dad. Sure they sound similar, 'cause they are, but to me he sounds like himself, I don't really see why everybody knocks him at all.

He got to sing on Letterman with some of the world's best musicians - how rotten is that?

  • I agree but there is no getting away from the comparison. FSJr. is a fine singer, great pianist/musician/conductor with an eclectic sense of humor. Never had a hit record and now in his 60's doing Tributes to his Dad with a Full Orchestra. He needs to lose a little weight though.. LOL! Bless him!

  • I love it that Frank Senior left us a Frank Junior, still living, to entertain and sing to remind us of his dad. Thanks for posting.

  • great voice just like Dad.

  • Nice, magical.

  • I agree Leu...I am a fan, and this guy had a hard time because of who Daddy was.

  • This is heavy, how could all the bad comments below happen? Those people are not that bright, I guess.

  • I agree. I watched it first yesterday and then today when I revisited it - it moves me. Will Lee always plays with passion. Love the vocals, the whole thing is a moment. I like that it's not slick, slick makes me sick! There's a pureness here.

  • I really pity Frank Jr.; he has to live in the shadow of one of the greatest music giants ever. More power to him for trying to fill those shoes.

  • True. Living in the shadow of a giant must be a curse indeed.

  • Might have been better if he was in a band.

  • he s terrible

  • And you are Tony Bennet? lol

  • I have the distinction of giving Frank Jr. a kiss after a show. Not bad!!

  • is he death?i yes when?

  • wow sounds EXACTLY like Frank Sr. but doesnt look too much like him

  • NEVER compare him to his father....

  • Sounds alot like his dad.

  • Any other baritone Jazz vocalists out there try singing this? You appreciate his vocal ability even more and realize what a gifted singer he is in his own right.

  • AW! He sounds like his father :')

  • He looks and sounds just like his father.

  • This has always been one of my favourite songs. Does anyone know where I can get the chords?

  • Try Googling the title; sometimes tablature will come up with the lyrics from the search.

  • nice song

  • Was (Not WAS) Forever!!!!!!!!

  • vegas anybody?

  • That's David Letterman saying "Very nice" - this is from his show, probably 1989.

  • This version is one of my favorite songs. I have looked for this for years. thanks so much for posting!!!!!

  • Ahhh!?! People miss Frank Sinatra Sr because he was hostile. People relax when Jr sing They had some aboriginal dna...did you know that? Dean Martin, Joey, Rock Hudson, J. Edgar Hoover (not black), Bobby Darin and Buddy Hawkett all had a beautiful tone of skin thanks to an indian. And, there may be some truth that one of the ships that was with Columbus actually did get lost and that was why they had Italian blood as well. This is an advertisement & jr justs has to put up with sour remarks.

  • Fantastic Song!

  • Why is that marked? D:

  • very catchy, great voice thanks for posting it

  • Jr is only underated because of his father.

if frank wasnt his father, he probably would have made a name for himself more individually

  • I am not diggin this... he has huge shoes to fill. imagine your father is frank sinatra, I would be a lawyer or somethin, not a musician, cursed to be compared.

  • Frank Sinatra Jr is a tight musician by all means the only reason ppl degrade him cuz he is Sinatra's son!

  • I remember when this was on Letterman. Absolutely the worst performance ever.

  • What makes it crappy is how he screws up the end of the second verse.

  • Sensational. Wonderful song, wonderful voice.

Please more songs from Frank Jr.

  • The jr. is as good as the father. Listen to his new album the face!

  • I can't wait till James DeFrances' single of Wedding Vows in Vegas comes out next year! What a great song!

  • man this was the cut! loved it!!

  • Fab ....

    Soulful and rich nice one

And for all the bum holes who criticised this feel free to put up something better! If you can!!!

Frank Jr is obviously a great talent and not to be compared to his dad or anyone else he has a sense of humour ......Keep it Real Mr S

  • sound isnt right for him in this kinda sounds like his father but if he had a better song could be better this song isnt a gd one its the first time i really listend to him

  • Comment removed

  • Su padre era extraordinario, y será inigualable; pero canta muy bien.

  • His voice isn't as refined nor as broad as his dad's. Maybe he should hold his mic closer to his mouth. He's only decent... nowhere as good as his dad, but not crap

  • yeah, sad thing he hides behind his fathers shadow, howard stern told him he nees to be reminded he is Jr not the senior

  • He really stinks. More Horrible even than Connick Jr. and that Buble kid. Frank Jr. hang it up!

  • Whoah, don't really think you can call Frank Jr. and Harry crap. But when it comes to that smarmy little prick Buble, I'm in total agreement with you.

  • And you are Mel Torme? lol

  • canta chevereee

  • I loved it but he does need to lose weight.

  • GREAT VOICE !!!

  • Actually, I've seen both of them, and Frankie's got

the better (trained and modulated) voice! This song

doesn't do him justice, but he's worth paying to see!

  • y is it all great singers and actors have children that think they can emulate there parents. this guy should get a real job not try to ride his farthers coat tails

  • Strikingly resembles Chevy Chase in this.. very impressive how much he sounds like his father. What a terrific song!

  • I have heard Frank Jr. sing before but he doesn't usually seem to get into it as much as he does here. He is very serious when performing, whereas his father was often very relaxed and seemed to enjoy singing for the audience. Jr. is frequently stiff, tho he does sing well. His phrasing techinques are not as polished as his father's either. This is why he never became famous on his own, because people will always compare the two.

  • awful to have your fate determined and in a way destroyed by a parent.

  • this is the first song ive ever heard by sinatra Jr except when he was on family guy, anyone reccomend an album?

  • GREAT VOICE!!! the same father's, but not better XD the original frank sinatra still being the best

  • Great job...ty for posting this...You ROCK Frank Jr.

  • I remember seeing this on afternoon TV when it first aired and being surprised at how good Frank Jr. was. I would have said the Mike Douglas show but Wikipedia says it went off the air in 1982. Agree FSJ underrated. Maybe he should have changed his name.

  • was(not was) was also underated!!

  • his voice is very similar to his dads but i dont like this song

  • Jr.'s pretty good. If he'd loose some weight he'd even resemble his dad.

  • He is underrated. If you haven't listened to his latest album "That face" I suggest you go out right away and buy it. Fantastic album. Again, Id love to know what this video is from. I am seeing him live at IUP Pennsylvania in March I am so excited.

  • I'm seeing him as well at IUP actually this SUnday the 10th...can't wait..

  • neat video...never saw this before and yu are right...Junior is underrated...

  • Frank Jr is so underated, he not only sings with passion he perfoms like a fine actor. Bravo.

  • Please let me know what this is from. :)

  • See if you recognize the voice saying "very nice" at the end of the video. This performance is from 1989.

  • Letterman!

  • Correct

  • Dean martin?

  • Dean martin saying very nice at the end?

  • no it wasnt dino

  • The song is on a album by Was(Not Was) entitled "What Up,Dog".It came out in 1988 or 1989
