  • I swear this is the only one of your videos were we almost see your face not painted..

  • You have nailed it buddy!

  • Ry on that Man Do Lin!!

  • Love the doggy in the background chilling to the music.

  • I love how the dog passes out on the floor. Nice rendition.

  • Priv - thanks for helping me refine so many Stones songs - so grateful; any way you could play (or give a lesson) the Love in Vain version on Stripped? Just cannot seem to get it, and it is my favorite version. Respectfully, pb

  • @bonannop I haven't listened to the Stripped version in quite a while, but I believe it's virtually identical to this, except he plays it without a capo.

  • Hey, I just want to thank you for taking the time to share your talent with us all. I wish You Tube would have been around 30 years ago.

I do have one question for you, is that a Gibson Jumbo J-200, what year is it,and what string and guage do you use. I was going to buy a Martin, but after hearing the great sound from your Gibson, I new that was the sound I've been searching for, for years. Great Job. Thanks Again

  • @59rlespaul That's a Gibson J200, probably strung with Elixirs, 13's. That's what I generally put on this one.

  • @privettricker When you're say Elixirs , Which Elixirs do you use ? Phosphor Bronze / 80/20 Bronze , Nanoweb coating / Polyweb coating , 12's / 13's .

    Do you also use D'Addario EXP's / DR Dragon Skin's ?

Please answer me ... THANKS :)

  • @abba14566541 Whatever's on sale, but usually nanoweb. I don't really agonize over what strings I use, to be honest.

  • @privettricker Gee I don't believe that THE privettricker answered my question (LOL) , thanks body

  • @abba14566541 Actually, I'm PT's intern. I handle all his correspondence. :)

  • THE BEST TEACHER

  • The song of all songs.......thanks for sharing, man!

  • I don't mean to alarm you, but I think this sad music is depressing your dog. for god's sake, give him a doggie treat or something.

  • great job man, and i love your dog:D

  • Your dog is awesome! Great playing, thanks for the lesson.

  • hahaha Go check ur dog man , just kiddin nyc cover i really like it ;)

  • i know the theory and i listen hard to what you say but i still cant play anywhere near your level ............whats the secret ? lol

  • @MrDAVEL64 The truth is, there is no secret. It's just a matter of practice.

  • @privettricker you lost the dog on this one . not a stones fan?

  • @MrDAVEL64

I thought I would struggle with this song but I've spent a couple of hours each day on it for the last week and I'm nearly there just missing a few things.

I Started with his lesson first and I'm now watching his cover to pick up some of the little nuances and chord timings.

It's all practise, detective work and alot of patience.

Great to learn though cos the song combines arpeggio with hammer ons, pull offs , slides and a couple of unusual chords amongst the common ones.

  • you old dog diggin' the blues on the carpet. Was that him howlin'? or just Mick?

  • @RareBird0 If the howling was in tune, it couldn't have been Mick.

  • Wow, that was really nice of Mick Jagger to come over to your place and do the vocal for you! (very nice guitar work, btw :)

  • Merci Keith !

  • well done. kp rollin

  • Cute Dog! He seems to like the music!

  • @mandom1231 She's a pretty generous critic.

  • You nailed this one. Tone, phrasing, time, everything. Nice job.

  • the dog really looks to have the blues for this song, nice warmtone on your guitar :)

  • Well done, boss.

  • Really nice, I've always loved this version since Get Yer Ya Yas Out first came out.

I've worked on it, off and on over the years, and never realized that the guitar walks down to the seventh of G on the fat, bottom E string. You know, from G to F# to F on the 6th string during the middle part - when Mick Taylor is doing his slide solo. It fills the accompaniment nicely with those lower notes. Yours is the closest I've heard to Keef's genius version. BTW, good idea to use the CD as backing.

  • holy shit you sound so much like mick jagger

  • @MrGuitarman67 he's not singing, idiot xD

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGuitarman67 jagger doesnt play guitar here

  • @InanancuxI He's talking about the vocal. It's a joke, since there are often comments from people who think I'm singing in my videos.

  • @privettricker american humor. I got it

  • ok man i have moonlight mile coverd...now it's on to this one.

amoung other things today, i'm thankfull for your lessons !

  • @hain23x Yes.

  • channeling the robert johnson, keef ,love in vain riffs, man just does not get any better, nothing like the sound of maple in my ear, keep up the nice work man.

  • Nice.

  • your dog got da blues too...i enjoy your playing and choice of music.

  • @Privettricker damn man, I play it just like you but i miss some little unclear parts ... Great to see them here ... Robert Johnsons cover

  • Hey, I just want to say thanks for all the great videos you have posted. I've learned so many songs from watching you. Your covers tend to be quite accurate. Great guitars, too. I've got a D-28 and a Gibson Songwriter for acoustics, and a Les Paul Standard and American Srat on the electric side.

  • man great song could you do a lesson on this one

  • hey mint vid what are the finger possitions when u play the little slide bit at like 10sec its the donly part i cant get right

  • You slide up to a G triad. From the capo, it's sliding up to E string third fret, B string third fret, and G string fourth fret.

Then slide that down two frets (F) and it kind of walks down to that C.

  • cool! well done

  • Nice job man!!! I enjoyed the chords!!!!! congratulations!!! Daniel /Brazil

  • The Stones move within you.

  • I like to think there's a little Keef in all of us.

  • amazing guitar + funky dog :D

    cuts!

  • Check out my video for "Friends." She even rolls over on her back for a nap!

  • great work!
