  • Excellent tutorial. Thanx for the tips. You saved me having to buy new hinges.

  • Thank you for posting this tip. I was ready to go out and buy a plane.

  • Hey thanks my latch was stuck while the door was closed and I couldn't open it. So I used your trick with the dykes to remove the pin and pulled out the whole door and replaced the latch. Thanks so much!

  • Great job sir !

  • I watched this video a week ago, just once. Then today without watching it again I used this technique to fix a door that I've never been able to close before. I did it in about 8 minutes, approx. the same length of time as the video itself. It's like magic! Thanks!

  • Impressive sir

  • Awesome! Going to try it now. Thanks!

  • thank u *****

  • I just did this and it worked perfectly! Thanks so much.

  • PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Great tip! I've fixed sticking doors before, but this is a technique I've never seen.

  • @Rdfarr2 Glat to be of service. We shoud compare notes. Check out my e-book "Door Trix" at triple "w" doortrix dot com.

  • Man..You are a MASTER!, thanks a lot...I would've killed myself removing the whole door, and replacing jams and frame...wasting a beautiful day! Cheersss!!

  • one of the best tips on you tube, amen!

  • such a great trick! Fixed some very old heavy duty hinges with this two years ago. Still going strong.

    Thanks Donny.

  • thx for fixing my doors for me!~ :)

  • OMG, this must be the best 10 minutes I got from YouTube. I can't believe how simple this fix was. All others tell you to sand or plan the door. I am so glad I saw Donny's video before I got started. THANK YOU DONNY!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • Thank you!

Not a single video out there as easy as this! Who has the time or the tools to fix the way that others suggest - sanding, planing, adding longer screws, etc.

By far, the best 15 minutes I've spent in months. The 15 minutes was watching the video, gathering a couple of household tools and something to shim with, and repair!

Seriously can't beleive how easy this was after months of yanking the door open, and shoulder shoving it closed.

    Thanks again!!!

  • @tsheehanjr

I couldn't agree more. This is unbelieve!

  • thanx a lot. very helpfull video

  • Neat trick - using the wrench to pull the sprung hinge back in place. I wished I'd tried that earlier, it's a much easier fix!

  • Super A++++++++++++++++++

  • Thank you! All the other how to's say to sand the door or drill a long screw in the door jamb but yours is the first to show me how to fix the hinge which is a lot easier than the other ones. Thank you - now my door opens and closes much better.

  • Installed a new door today but it was hitting the frame so adjusted the hinges and it closed thanks to your tip.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • That was great. I salute you

  • Awesome!

  • Very good Donny. Thank you.

  • Wow. that's remarkably clever! Going to try this on some doors in my house tonight!

  • Thanks Donny! Great job on the vid.

  • @samueldj123

Thanks for the comment. And be sure and share the trick.

  • aWESOME!!

  • @juan89ful

Always glad to know that another peson has made easy use of the old "Hinge/Wrench" trick

  • Good job, like you said some time u have to sand. Like your video

  • You're welcome. Glad to be of service.

  • Thanks Don. I just followed your advice and now my front door closes perfectly. Happy Easter- Chris

  • awesome! I have been wondering how to fix probably all of my doors in my house cause they do that. Im gonna give it a try. :D

  • When I tried bending the knucle toward the door, it must pulled the hinge away from the door. Didn't bend the knuckle at all. Now it's worse than before. :(

  • Thanks for the tip, I was about to take out skill saw

  • Thanks to Donny, I fixed my door today. Things didn't work out exactly how it did in the video so here's what I improvised:

    1) I couldn't get the pin out with my pliers and hammer so I used a flat head screwdriver and hammer (though I wish I had a smaller hammer).

    2) I didn't have shimmies so I used a crowbar and some cardboard to protect the door and floor. I didn't have any help so I had to adjust the crowbar with my foot while hammering the pin back into the hinge.

    3) WD40.

    Yay!

  • @LloydChristmas777 Thanks for the improvising tips!

  • @Jayee123, you're welcome.

  • Awesome sir. I have at least two doors that need work. Thanks.

  • I have sticky door problem like that . I'll try soon. Thanks for sharing and good video.

  • Thanks a million! This is exactly what I need! Thank you!

  • My door works thank you very much. I thought it was the jam, and it was driving me crazy.

  • your video is great, thanks a million

  • no need for the plywood just stick in the pin and smack it in....good demo though

  • i know what ill be doing instead of shaving the door down... THANK YOU!! that is the exact problem i was having..

  • cool, I'll give it a try today, thanks for sharing

  • Unbelievably effective! I have put up with this door for years...fixed it in minutes. I also like your thorough methodology. Thanks man.

  • i have a sticky door and was going to do some planning on the top of the door. Now I see the problem may be solved by other means. Good Video!

  • OMG! Thank you so much for this video. I had a couple doors that shifted after I installed them which caused the top hinge to bend like this. I've been fussing with the frame to no avail all this time!

  • Great info. Thanks for putting up this vid.

  • Donny Door you're the greatest! Thanks!

  • This is a great residential door appliaiton. Great Solution. If you are working to resolve an issue on a Commercial Door you can use the Hinge Tweaker Tool. Go to google and type in Hinge Tweaker into the search bar.

  • I love you...

    you are awesome Don.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you so much for sharing...

  • Brilliant! And to think of all the time I've spent filing and sanding unnecessarily. Thanks.

  • This worked beautifully. My door was sticking along the top edge so I worked the hinges in the opposite direction. Bottom, then top. Then the middle stuck a bit so a small tweak to the middl hinge finshe it off. Thanks for the tips.

  • Using a metal punch with a flat tip is a better solution to removing the hinge pin(s). Plus, the hinge pin he's using looks bent. Maybe that should have been replaced with a new one.

  • @tripjet999

    @tripjet999

Where is your vid to do this better? Cant you find something better to do than to just say you can do it better than him? I doubt you could somehow. Did his bent pin work? Yes, did his techniques work? YES. Why did you even bother responding? Obviously you dont understand construction buddy and you just make yourself look stupid if you didnt already know that you were. lol

  • Thanks for all the details. Excellent video.

  • Cool, thanks man. That fixed my door.

  • Thanks Don, that was exactly my problem.!!!

  • Thanks Don! Very helpful with my marital relations as well!

  • Appreciate advice.

I would have taken door off hinges and planed it down.

Now I know your way is better.

  • wonderful! thanks Don.

  • well son of a bitch. I thought this video was going to suck! Awesome!

  • perfect! step by step that sloved my problems with my sticking door!
