Hey thanks my latch was stuck while the door was closed and I couldn't open it. So I used your trick with the dykes to remove the pin and pulled out the whole door and replaced the latch. Thanks so much!
I watched this video a week ago, just once. Then today without watching it again I used this technique to fix a door that I've never been able to close before. I did it in about 8 minutes, approx. the same length of time as the video itself. It's like magic! Thanks!
Man..You are a MASTER!, thanks a lot...I would've killed myself removing the whole door, and replacing jams and frame...wasting a beautiful day! Cheersss!!
OMG, this must be the best 10 minutes I got from YouTube. I can't believe how simple this fix was. All others tell you to sand or plan the door. I am so glad I saw Donny's video before I got started. THANK YOU DONNY!
Not a single video out there as easy as this! Who has the time or the tools to fix the way that others suggest - sanding, planing, adding longer screws, etc.
By far, the best 15 minutes I've spent in months. The 15 minutes was watching the video, gathering a couple of household tools and something to shim with, and repair!
Seriously can't beleive how easy this was after months of yanking the door open, and shoulder shoving it closed.
Thank you! All the other how to's say to sand the door or drill a long screw in the door jamb but yours is the first to show me how to fix the hinge which is a lot easier than the other ones. Thank you - now my door opens and closes much better.
When I tried bending the knucle toward the door, it must pulled the hinge away from the door. Didn't bend the knuckle at all. Now it's worse than before. :(
Thanks to Donny, I fixed my door today. Things didn't work out exactly how it did in the video so here's what I improvised:
1) I couldn't get the pin out with my pliers and hammer so I used a flat head screwdriver and hammer (though I wish I had a smaller hammer).
2) I didn't have shimmies so I used a crowbar and some cardboard to protect the door and floor. I didn't have any help so I had to adjust the crowbar with my foot while hammering the pin back into the hinge.
OMG! Thank you so much for this video. I had a couple doors that shifted after I installed them which caused the top hinge to bend like this. I've been fussing with the frame to no avail all this time!
This is a great residential door appliaiton. Great Solution. If you are working to resolve an issue on a Commercial Door you can use the Hinge Tweaker Tool. Go to google and type in Hinge Tweaker into the search bar.
This worked beautifully. My door was sticking along the top edge so I worked the hinges in the opposite direction. Bottom, then top. Then the middle stuck a bit so a small tweak to the middl hinge finshe it off. Thanks for the tips.
Using a metal punch with a flat tip is a better solution to removing the hinge pin(s). Plus, the hinge pin he's using looks bent. Maybe that should have been replaced with a new one.
Where is your vid to do this better? Cant you find something better to do than to just say you can do it better than him? I doubt you could somehow. Did his bent pin work? Yes, did his techniques work? YES. Why did you even bother responding? Obviously you dont understand construction buddy and you just make yourself look stupid if you didnt already know that you were. lol
Excellent tutorial. Thanx for the tips. You saved me having to buy new hinges.

Neat trick - using the wrench to pull the sprung hinge back in place. I wished I'd tried that earlier, it's a much easier fix!
