@Nimblewit82: I've read that the State of New York took away Yoko's wrestling license after Survivor Series 96, which was his last WWF appearance. That's why he barely got in the ring at Heroes of Wrestling.
It was SS95 that Ahmed slammed Yoko, not 1996. Although, don't get me wrong, I ain't a hater or a nitpicker. I loved the video. Thank you for this upload.
Mabel/Viscera/Big Daddy V once slammed him Coliseum Video's WWF Most Unbelieveable Matches in 94' and he got him "ALL THE WAY UP". Yoko even managed to slam him too.
Wow, the slams in Mexico and Japan are amazing because they are actually body slams. When Luger did it Yoko just ran and jumped in the sky, but Luger still didn't really slam him. Ahmed Johnson's slam was very sloppy too, but two in Japan and Mexico made it look effortless.
Its good to see a guy so fat capable of moving fast enough through an entire wrestling match. Quite impressive. In the end though I still prefer Rikishi because he was pretty damn action packed and he was one of my favourite wrestlers in the Attitude era but he never got a big enough push. Correct me if I'm wrong but Rikishi was never WWF champion. If Yokozuna can have it, why not Rikishi?
C'mon Luger is not the strongest pro wrestler. I believe that many guys could do it better at that bodyslam challenge (Crash for example). McMahon tried to make new Hogan out of Luger at that point, and Yoko was new Andre. I'd like to see Lesnar or Goldberg slammin' Youkozuna.
@MrGlasspider He was up there. I think Big Show is the strongest (full-time) wrestler ever, but behind him, probably Patera, Andre, Crush/Brian Adams, and Mark Henry. Hogan, Tony Atlas, Luger, Goldberg, and Lesnar were probably the strongest under 300 lbs, in no particular order. Warrior was pretty strong too. He practically slammed Andre against Andre's will.
@MrGlasspider, I believe that Yokozuna was a lot heavier when Lex Luger bodyslammed him. One time on Regis and Kathy Lee, he even said that it would have been impossible to bodyslam Yokozuna from a vertical stand point.
Great video but those were the most lamest slams by Luger on him. Yokozuna did all the work and Luger couldn't even get him in the classic slam position. As Hennan screamed "hip toss"!!
@styx4ever1963 - I tell you what. The most impressive slam of a super heayweight was when Big Show (the Giant) on WCW slammed Earthquake in the classic slam position... hold the guy up for a few seconds with the feet over the head, and dumping him.
For the 1st 0:39, it's impressive, but Yoko wasn't as massive at this time as he was in the WWF. He put on all that weight to play the sumo gimmick. I'd say about 150 pounds more.
Thanks for the tip... I did find the video.... if I can find Ahmed Johnson's first slam of Yoko from Raw in October/November '95 I will be putting that up along with Lex's slam at WrestleMania X...
So if ANYONE knows where I can find that vid... let me know!
Try to find the video of Hacksaw Jim Duggan knocking him off his feet. It was the first time he was knocked down in the WWF. Was on probably a Saturday morning show. Great memories...
Another great idea for a compilation video! I think Ahmed Johnson's was least impressive, but lets face facts...Yoko was at his largest by then, I'd say over 600 lbs easy!
Did the AWA ever televise a Kokina appearance? I haven't done too much research, but I'm surprised that examples don't pop up when I search for them.

you forgot the first time ahmed slammed yoko was when he made his debut by coming to the rescue of diesel and 123 kid i think in oct 95'.

@TeslaDRay Yeah it was Razor and the kid.. on Raw before Survivor Series 95. Ahmed's first in ring appearance or one of the first

Wasteland by Wade Barrett would knock out Yokozuna just like the Englishman when he lift up Mark Henry and botched the finisher.

It's not just weight that kept Luger from turning Yoko, it was his girth. His massive torso had no where left to go, making the slam look incomplete.
Gamebox27 1 year ago
OK, Ahmed too. But he didn't get him as high off the ground as Luger.
Gamebox27 1 year ago
Luger is the only one budging the behemoth at 550 lbs+
The other ones are at 400-450, if that.
