It's all sour grapes...other countries can do the same thing as China but they don't want to do the hard work. China is making inroads in the harder sports and team events.
All the negative press China gets these days seems to be driven largely by either fear or envy.
lol,I don't think most Americans think we won in 2008, just the media doing that crybaby stuff. China #1 fair and square, it's total gold medals.
It is interesting though since the last time a country won most gold and another most total was in 1964. US won 36 gold, 90 total and Russia 30 gold, 96 total and US was counted as #1 so there you go...it's total gold not this flip flopping to make us win lol.
Zimbabwe did ok too my man, 38 place out of 81. :)
you gotta take a look on the bigger prspective mate...US has 110 medals...es...that is 10 more than China, but China has 51 Gold medals...which is 15 MORE GOLD medals than the US...which shows who is superior
It s simple...u CAN't say that the US won simply becasue they had 301 Bronze medals compared to China who had 300 Gold medals...that just MAKES NO SENSE
Therefore, TOTAL medal count should not be sued when two countries are pretty close in the count, thats where the GOLD medal counts
Good strategy from the Chinese. They know they can't compete in the swimming and the track & field (yet), so they concentrate on the sports that they're traditionally good at and some other "little" sports. Very smart move! It has worked too!

Gold is worth more than bronze metal.

USA still has more medals overall, getting a bunch of gold medals for badminton is not impressive.
Who cares anyways, its the individuals hard work anyways, the country of their origin doesn't matter.

Sounds like sour grapes to me from that American, does Michael Phelps - their idol win 8 golds in team sports?
