@explosionguy23 Skulltag will work with CE i have it myself. All you gotta do is move the Doom.wad Doom2.wad and such into the same folder as skulltag.

@bluereaper75 Buy a copy of doom2.wad from steam, or if you get it from everywhere else (however dont, its piracy) its size should be EXACTLY 14.25 MB. Its the official unmodified one. It should work with that.

I joined ZDaemon in March 2006, and ZDaemon only got 50 players in 1.09 which came out in 2011, 5 years to release it, nah come on that's like a vaporware. :/ I mena, the new ZDaemon version is cool and all, I love both ports to be honest, but wow, 5 years is way too much.

the multiplayer looks more fun than quake.

when I played quake2 the maps felt like labyrinths and the kill times seemed longer. This looks the exact opposite; arena style fragfest.

Hi, I figured it out, what I meant is called 'coopspy' in Skulltag. Default key = F12

Just pressing the observe key only let's you float around. Press F12 again to spec next player's pov. Looks laggy has hell though... I guess Doom1/2 wasn't meant to have this option.

@milfermon21 Try r_visibility 255 in the console. It applies the same effect except that it's permanent. And doesn't work online!

Other than the fact that it's a way to play Doom again, I like it's Decorate language for coding Things and the fact that it basically reads .zip files. The other gameplay modes get old fast, it's deathmatch blows, and the BFG10k pisses me off.

Once downloaded, start the exe files called "DoomSeeker". You should find a list or servers. Set up different paths (wads, engine...) and you should be fine. :)

Skulltag supports the Shareware but you will be extremely limited about the content. :) As BlackNesKiller says, getting Doom2.wad will help you to enjoy the engine to it's limits!

Yeah, I got the Doom 2 IWAD, bit its a bit complicated on Skulltag. So far I've had no trouble with ZDaemon. Couldn't be bother with Odamex because all I saw was a tumbleweed when browsing their servers.
