But the ram is necessary for everything else, like UI and web browsing, considering that the PS3 have 256 of RAM it seams more than enough, but we don't know how much the UI will pull, of if it will kill it wile browsing, or how multitasking will it be (eg: music +surfing the web + chating or something) I'm just saying I rather have the storage cut and be able to add additional later on than the ram which you can't alter in the future.

@Omizuke Think about it this way, the 360 has more ram, yet the sheer power of the processor in the ps3 allows for more multi tasking than the 360. (as well as more moving objects on the screen). To be honest with you the loss in ram is probably the least of my concerns, cost plays more in to whether I will buy the system or not...besides, it's not confirmed yet.

Sony often gets in over their heads when designing a new periph and later fudge the specs to lower the costs (ie: PS3 dropped to a single PPE core instead of 2). they've sold at aloss in the past and it worked for the PS2, but those were much less competitive times. now they have to compete with Nintendo AND smart phones for the hand held market... thats a hell of a battle.
