Rock on, Mr. Rayner!! Join the movement for art! An art teacher in middle school once said that people should take art because there are more opportunities in the real world than music, because going with band isn't going to really help you. He said that everything from the chair you sit on to the game you play on the computer is made by an artist. Art is everywhere, yet it isn't a category on youtube!

Whenever I upload a new drawing video I always secretly hope there will be a new category to surprise me but...unfortunately there isn't yet. I never thought of asking for one. I agree as there is a large number of visual artist there is also a huge community of haunters who like me work year round on halloween and i think that large comunities like visual arts or haunters should get a tab, i hope it happens for you and congrates on the you tube award.

Hey Shoo! I just wanted to ask your help on this. Whenever I feel like drawing (which I feel very frequently , and I'm 12 :D) that whatever I feel , I draw. If I'm feeling angry I would draw an angry wolf or if I'm happy I would draw a sunny picture with a clown or something similar of that sort. But , sometimes , I know what I want to do but I just can't find a way to start. Therefore I go onto the internet and just copy that picture. Not trace. Is this normal? Thanks for your help! - Dan

And the visual arts category is good way for you to find videos that will help you practice.

I completely agree with you Shoo, especially in terms of the ignorance of the importance of drawing in schools and education. Your a really inspiring person and your enthusiasm is evident in every video you make. Just wanted to let you know, you encouraged me to concentrate more on my drawing and as a result i came runner up in the young cartoonist of the year award, and I'm currently attempting to do a drawing of an animal every single day in 2012.

There is a great book from Sir Ken Robinson called "The Element" talks about education in Schools and how the arts are now bottom of the heap. Such a shame

Thank you for speaking out Shoo! Your voice contributes so much to this. I am glad that you emphasized the point about the percieved lack of importance for art instruction in schools. I personally lost my art teaching job three times due to the budget being allocated elsewhere. Thank you for doing this.
