  • Nerd!!!

  • Coooool!!!!!!!!!!

  • My handle was made of duct tape haha

  • Is it possible with extra metal to make a double edged sword?

  • fuckin G over here. dnt fuck with a nigga who has creative thot

  • I plan to try to make my own sword, except with more forging style and using found railroad spikes. Doubt it'll be any good and weight a ton, but its something to do xD

  • You should have etched a line to follow before you sharpened it so the edge would be smooth!

  • USELESS VIDEO!!!! no offense sorry

  • Cool sword blade! =) What metal is it? That's actually cool how it can cut through a water bottle.

  • did you went through pupority

  • @MegaKipkayfan Did you "went" through 1st grade? your grammar and spelling are both terrible.

  • do have facebook i have a kanata home made short sword

  • THIS IS AWESOME! THANKS MAN! :D

  • biggest nerd i have ever seen

  • @ninjakiwi214 wat teh fuck?

    nerd?

    fuck u

    up the ass

  • so yeah.. this is random but it a little on topic, zombie apocalypse... I think the Bar Mace would be a great, very long lasting zombie killer... what do you guys think?

  • you look like my brother

  • For People who are too lazy to make a wooden handle, electric tape wraps work too

  • @HHDTindustries thats if your real lazy atleast use some sort of foam if your gonna use ta;e...

  • Why are people so obsessed with Jap swords?

  • @SuperJogvan I can answer your Question its because there easy to use in combat they look cool and well if u try and make ur own the designs r rlly do.

  • me and my friend made a steel sword that looks like that exept it looks like a nice factory made one its so bad ass i love cutting stuff in half

  • thank i have some of the things you hahe

  • Pretty cool.

I usually make my own shurikens out of square beam support washers but I only have a metal file to do it with and it takes a hell of a long time, so making a sword that way really seems like a stretch of my patience XD

Wish I had a damn angle grinder ^^

  • your grind lines are a bit wobbly

  • Not much of a ninja, will this technique work for a claymore?

  • are you gay cause you sound gay

  • @Tkiller1998 thats not a gay voice...its just nasally

  • wow that much mony i can get a sword off of amazon for like $15

  • @ryland6774 Yeah, and I can give home tracheotomies at 3 bucks a pop; something tells me there might be an issue of quality though.

  • its k r u gonna show some videos of you cutting stuff

  • its pretty good, i would perfer a round piece of wood for a handle, maybe a good soft wood, not much of a wood expert but you know what i mean.

  • making it rainbowy is easy making the edge hard to dull is the tricky part :)

  • CUT DA BOTTLE!

  • You should use some material and just wrap the handle.

  • ah, a friend of mine made an ass load of swords like this. i gotta bust em out again so we can duel ^_^

  • Nice and thx i made one it look like yours wooo.

  • lol an American ninja

  • i have ideas from Chosen Ninja. You can add a square metal piece as a guard and when you are far from the enemy, take it out and throw it. Also. At the end of your handle make it hollow and add blinding powder to it and find a cork to cover it and when you are near an enemy you can blind him and stab him.

  • @josefu0 I've actually watched that video, some of his ideas are awesome, the only thing i don't really like is the guard idea, it wouldnt really serve the purpose of a guard very well and you would probably be better off having a non detachable one and carry shuriken with you. I like the blinding powder idea though, very cool.

  • @josefu0 wtf is gonna run around and stab and blind "the enemy"? this is illegal in america.

  • @josefu0 nooooooo no hollow handles they will break or bend (depending on material)with use and you don't want that

  • 75gas is right he tryed!!!! i love swords good job!!!!

  • you people talk as if broad swords are the only european style swords out there, your completel forgetting about sabers, and katanas are folded way more then 3 times, a properly made katana will have well over 1000 layers, ive made a few tantos but they arent properly made because i didnt fold them i made them from a single peice of steel

  • You guys are dicks

at least this guy is doing something more constructive than commenting on youtube videos

  • @75gas hehe I just think about it this way, every time they come on this video I get views, i don't really care if you say something negative I'm just glad you had the interest to click on the link that got you here. (just keep the swearing to a minimum guys :P there are some young kids that watch these too you know)

  • @CryosWolf ya your absoultly right about that the other day my little nephew asked me what a certain word meant he found on youtube comments i had to explain to my nephew that it was a bad word that didnt stop him from telling his mommy about the new word he learned from uncle later that day

  • Please get a life....

  • what you want is a fucking broadsword, a double edjed tough sword that will cut off a leg like a hot knife though butter, not a shity samurai sword

  • @tiagandremo lol, well we all have to start somewhere :P

  • @CryosWolf true true :P

  • @tiagandremo I'm sorry I just have to comment on this. Samurai swords could be just as lethal as a broadsword. Some can even cut right through your body if the technique is done right.

  • @MatthewkunX but you have to put force on it, the sheer weight of a broadsword will cut your head off, let alone if you but even more weight on it,

  • @tiagandremo I guess you havent used too many swords then, eh? Most swords arent that heavy to make a huge difference in cutting ability. If a sword is made correctly, it shouldnt weigh any more than 4 pounds. A katana's curved blade helps it slice a target easier than a straight blade. This is proven physics, you cant argue it. A katana also is made to have a razor sharp edge without losing durability. A broadsword can be very very sharp, but its still a straight blade.

  • Also, the proper technique involved in using a katana is not only more efficient at slicing than a broadsword's technique, it also relies on speed rather than brute force. There is technique involved in broadsword combat, yes. However, please understand that it is very different. Both swords are useful for their intended purpose, so im not saying the katana is the best sword in any situation. Only it is better at slicing flesh.

  • @LotusDragon09 a straight blade alowing you to stab a person with it through one side and it going out the other, and yes a sword can weight alot, a portuguese ing called D. Afonso Henriques has a sword weghing 13 kg thats well over 4 pounds, so yeah a sword can weigh as much as you want it to, as its made for you to use not other people

  • @tiagandremo Im not sure what you mean. So are you saying a straight blade doesnt have enough stabbing potential to go through its target? A curved blade is best for slashing and a straight blade is best for stabbing, although both can still do the other, albeit not as well.

When I said a sword shouldnt weigh more than 4 pounds, I mean typically. There are some swords that weigh more and a lot that weigh less. A basic long sword (not european, I mean in general) shouldnt weigh more than 4.

  • @LotusDragon09 i said that a straight blade will go through one side and otu the other, so yeas i said its good fro stabbing, duh

  • @tiagandremo Oh ok, then I completely agree. Ill admit a european broadsword is more versitile than a katana, so in that aspect, it is better. As long as your opponent's artery is leaking at dangerous rates, who cares if you can cut him in half effortlessly. He'll still be dead. But in a cutting ability contest, a katana will have an easier time going through its target. A curved blade can still go through a human torso, you know. Just not as easy as a straight blade.

  • @LotusDragon09 both swords have good and bad points, the katana requires technique, the broadsword requires brute force, both swords were great weapons in ancient times, my dad has a few swords most of which are katanas and 2 broadswords, as i used both the katana and broadsword in battle id rather go with the broadsword, but thats me

  • @tiagandremo Yeah, to be honest it just depends on the situation. Since I have more training with a katana, ill know how to use it better than a european sword, but there are some situations where a katana wont do so well. In battle, id rather go with a spear. But if my opponents were heavily armored and I didnt have a spear, a european sword would be better suited. The Japanese obviously dont have the same armor as a european soldier, so their weapons would then be different.

  • @tiagandremo dude samurai swords, if done right, are triple folded steel and can move faster and cut harder than any broadsword

  • @punkrocker1377 put your head on a block, get some one to drop a samurai sword on your neck, and then a broadsword, DUDE, just the weight of the broadsword will cut your fucking neck clean off your body, a samurai sword you still have to put weight on it, anyway, i never heard of a king fighting with a samurais word -_-

  • @tiagandremo Dude. it's not samurai. It's ninja. You can tell because he said Ninjato.

  • have you made a mideval sword

  • Hey man!.... cool !! I have a knife I made the handle for...... out of rope.

It looks cool and it was easy.......Just wrap it around the steel... Just like a rambo knife......

  • i made one with everything that i could use without spending anything excepted it does'nt look that good

  • hey nice job bud! iv been wanting to make one myself for a while now and i am looking forward to the tutorial. again nice job

  • @niksechtniks Nice job!

  • wow! you cut the water bottle in half thats pretty cool for a home-aid sword.. great vid 5*. : )

  • Cool vid man

  • @dusanmandic0012 Thanks :3

  • Cool vid man

  • hey i made one blue handle wrapping

  • @shinrei05 Awesome! If you'd like to make a video response id love to see it!

  • god damn you little wanna-be-ninjas are such huge fucking nerd fags.

  • @sharpnova2 lol, the awesome thinga bout having popular videos, no matter what you think, I'm getting paid for your veiws! Every time you load this page... *blocks* You fail very nicely

  • @CryosWolf lol

  • @CryosWolf lol. I made a sword when i was a kid by smelting a shitton of cans down and pouring it into a sand mold i made with another sword. How do i get paid for my youtube vids???

  • serious? you get paid? i heard a rumor that people with popular videos get like a tiny tiny percentage of money per view but it would all add up, is that true?@CryosWolf

  • @gobacktorussia ya actually, I'm not a full partner yet so i don't get paid on all my videos but I do actually get paid a bit. and surprisingly you get paid quite a bit, in the two months I've had a few partner videos I've made about 6 and a half bucks. You need to get your views up there pretty high though, and it needs to be totally original content. Their things that make you eligible are pretty thorough >.>

  • @gobacktorussia Yeah people get paid one of my friends videos has enough views you have to get like 50k views or something then you can be getting payed!

  • @sharpnova2 if you dont like this type of video dont watch this type of video u lowlife piece of shit!

  • @sharpnova2 You're an asshole, and you're blocked, but I'd like to tell you one thing... If you don't like a video, nobody's exactly putting a gun to your head to watch it. Besides, you're a skinny bastard that constantly talks shit about people and laughs at tragedy and death... One would think you'd actually be interested in self-defense videos and sword videos and shit, just in case you needed to learn how to defend yourself someday from people who you've personally pissed off.

  • @sharpnova2 wannabe ninjas? someone who practises shinobi arts is not a wanabe ninja fool i forge this kind off blades and i train with them wy dos that make me a wanabe ninja i dont want to be a ninja so how can i be a wanabe?

  • how much do they usually go for down in the scrapper?

  • This video was intended for prison yard samuris everywhere.

  • kool!

  • That's an awesome sword

My first (and as of now only) foray into homemade swords was a tanto made out of a pipe i tempered and hammered flat, then i cut an edge on the end, and made a "handle" out of duckt tape

    Anyway,

    Keep up the good work

  • wow, i had the same idea, but it was more of a tanto-wakizashi mix. i hammered out a steel pipe, jacketed in flattened coper, and sharpened and mounted in a shirasaya mount of cedar. i guess some minds think alike!

  • @Dannybroadsword1

    Thats awesome

My sword started out as a "katana-like sword", but it was too weak to handle the forces a longer blade has to deal with, so i broke it into two pieces, and used only one of them.

Its edge is blunt, and it looks like a bronze age sword from all the pits and warps in the metal, but the tip of the blade it pretty sharp

  • EMO fag

  • dude... nice and cool..

    like wow...

and um.. can u send me the list of materials in message...

    ok?

  • As for your $300 Katana, hows the quality on it? I wanted to buy a decent katana without breaking the bank

  • I think it might actually be in the related videos let me look......... Hmm I guess not, look up practical XL light Katana a great review will be the first video on the list. Its been compared to Katanas over a thousand dollars in cutting efficiency and overall I highly recommend it myself.

  • Wow, you got skill! I am sure you one day will grow up to become a great mass murderer! ;-P

  • X3 We all start somewhere 8P

  • Truth! Simply the truth! :-P

  • cool vid man im almost 30 and you have talent just need to hone your skills a little but ignore the ignorence of others they dont know what craftmanship is

  • Thanks a lot for the compliment :D

  • wtf is a wockhasiti

  • A Wakizashi is pretty much the Japanese short sword, it is usually has about a foot and a half blade length.

  • ~"We didn't start the flame war"~ :P

  • "This is my lord of the rings sword and i'm 30 years old and i still live with my mother. If anyone wants to be my friend please leave a comment. *SNORT*"<-----YOU

  • O_o... Proverbs 27 Verse 19

As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man.

    Guess what....

    You've just been bible thumped.

  • Bible = fiction, your argument is invalid

  • Arguing on the internet is like the special Olympics, even if you win, your still a retard.

  • It's like RUNNING in the special olympics:P

  • Either way he's still making a fool of himself :P

  • Ding ding ding! You scored a point:P Though you have to admit it's fun from time to timeXD I love arguing with people on the internet:P

  • Amen. :D

  • you can say that but it wont make him stop doing what he enjoys... you're just being shallow and it makes you look like a jerk. and he did in fact own you through the bible :P

  • well I feel sorry for you jpodejko if you still live with your mother at the age of 30.

  • TACOS!

  • @thedoughnutanator Lol, the best part about that is you look hispanic

  • ?????

  • this is an awsum home made sword. wer do u get metal like that?

  • A large hardware store pretty much. Really easy to find stuff like this.

  • y so many bad words watch ur typing there r proly lil kids searching this stuf

  • I know <:\ Thankfully my demographic is currently mid teens a lot of the time. There are little kids though who unfortunately have to see all that. :\

  • lol sick sword

  • Thanks :P

  • nice vid man, i like the sword to but do you plan to make a sheath for it too since your already making a handle, as you can tell if you did make it i already i wouldnt know, but ya keep up the good work. Im glad somebody else likes to make stuff even if it isnt necessary, i especially like making weapons.

  • I will be making a handle :3 It should be up this or next weekend. I'm glad you like it! :D

  • FAG

  • Wow, that was creative.... You really need to go get laid, go do something more with your life loser.

  • Well, you are the one who has a voice of a girl... You are the one who sits at home and makes shitty swords instead of buying a fucking real one... you are the one who is a fucking furry here(your profile picture).... and i asume you are the one who never got laid....

  • XD Alright... Thats the first time I've heard I have the voice of a girl :P I actually "do" have a professionally made $400. Yes, I am a furry that does not make me a fag. I apologise if you where offended with how I deal with people who have nothing better to do than sit on YouTube dissing random people they'll never meet so they can feel better about their sorry excuse of an existence. I was in a bad mood and I think I have a right to express my annoyance as much as they are to create it.

  • yeah like i have a steel dagger and i bin trying to sharpen it for like aobut 2 years now so i need help on how doing it

  • You can check out the tutorial videos I made, they'll probably help a lot :3 I like accusharp sharpeners, they are BY FAR the best I've ever tried using. Good luck with sharpening it! :D

  • Comment removed

  • obviously you..

  • ... i was replying to the guy that was saying this video was stupid...-_-''

  • hehe YouTube glitchiness :P another good reason not to argue on the internet XD

  • Poor waterbottle! nOOOOOOO

  • CANADA !!!!!

  • YA! 8D

  • youi know that will make a great zatoichi sword

  • Go to Admiral Steel online, they have every kind of blade steel you could think of. I'd get the spring steel designated as 1075 if I were you for a first-time stock removal blade, easy to work with, and relatively easy to heat treat on your own, though I suggest having a professional heat treating firm do it for you, give them the specifications (such as hardness in Rockwell C scale, about 57-58 is what you want to shoot for, straightness, tempering, two draw temperings to make it good and

  • Thanks a lot for the tip! :D I'll be sure to look into all of that! :D

    Thanks again!

  • i sujest you make the handel metal smaller and put it inside some wood

  • Actually it works a lot better when the metal is that long, it adds extra stability and strength, this is called full tang. (Very desireable to have in a sword ;3)

  • could u get the equipment at like home depot?

  • Oh ya definitely. They'd have all those different power tools etc as well as a lot of the materials most likely too.

  • but how did u sharpen it?

  • Watch the tutorial :3 It explains everything in detail. :D

  • well hurry ! cant wait to see it

  • XD the tut is up! :D XD Look in my channel :P The only part I don't have up yet is how to make a wooden handle :P

  • where can you get high carbon steel please write back

  • Of course I'll write back :3 I really have no idea where exactly to get high carbon steel, I can't find it anywhere around where I am honestly. Does anyone else know where a good place is to find some?

  • i give u five stars but i put 3 in an accidint sorry

  • Thanks :3 and its fine X3 99 other ratings will compensate :P

  • what type of style do you use? i really like santouryu. (three sword style)

  • I use a mix of several styles, santouryu is an interesting style but pretty impractical usually. Dual wielding is about as fancy as I get :P My main influences are Iaido, kendo, and also a few slivers of styles used with a jian.

  • kendo is awesome!

  • I know :D Its really hard to find good schools for any weapon arts here so I'm really glad I was actually able to learn some from my last Sensei :P I love it :D Iaidos more to my liking though :P

  • i like kendo but it's kinda hard to bring the blade down at angle. you know keep it straight and when it nearly reaches the ground you swish it at an angle.

  • ya, swordplay in general takes a lot more skill and practice than a lot of people realize. Interestingly enough I've never been taught a cut like that, I can see what it would be used for though.

  • good job where did you get the materials?

  • The steel and the wood I got from Canadian Tire, its pretty much a huge commercial hardware store like home depot or home hardware. Pretty much any kind of steel will do, I've used weldable and galvanized and they both work amazingly.

  • thanks good vid

  • Glad you like it :D

  • than you have made a good sword man :)

    what metal is that?

  • Thanks! :3 I used weldable steel for that sword, that's what I most often use, I sometimes use galvanized steel too but weldable is probably my favorite :P

  • Why would you use galvanized Steel for this, as you would destro its galvanizastion when tempering it or making the edge? And please dont tell me you are not tempering it? I hope you know when you grind the edge with a bench grinder and it gets too hot your metal wil be soft as hell, you should form the blade entirely, when you're finished temper it, you dont need to differentially harden it as you like to hold the Ninja-to design. But w/o tempering its just a shitty whacking metal.

  • I use galvanized steel for knives only. I have made two knives this way and both have performed exceptionally well. I do not temper galvanized steel due to toxic fumes that come from the surface during that process. Besides, galvanized is not supposed to be tempered, it will ruin the metal as you pointed out. Also, if you had watched the actual tutorials you would have noticed how much I emphasized your second point. Burning the steel in any way is always extremely harmful to the blade.

  • Good at the last point, but why actually use galvanized steel, just use normal high carbon steel and temper it. After that just apply a very thin layer of beeswax-mixture with a cloth, this wil keep it from rusting.

Also if you grind galvanized Steel, the galvanisation is lost while grinding it.

But still, I dont want to bitch at you or anything, just want to be nice, keep on going! At least I think you are very enthusiastic ^^

  • it can resist 70-90kg?its 154 -198 pounds i think :)

  • I'm not exactly sure what my swing strength was back then but on the cutting surface it can withstand very large amounts of pressure without bending, along the width of it I highly doubt it wouldn't bend under that kind of weight :P. Alot of professionally made katanas would not put up to that much force either so I'm not that worried X3

  • this metal is folding?i mean bend?

  • It isn't bent or folded in the making of it. it could be bent by heavy use or bad test cuts.

  • i really want this tut o and the rainbow effect color what is that called
