  • Very interesting post! I look forward to hearing more about your study. I talk with, and present to," these people" frequently. My favorite term is "Instructional Technologist", and often interact with "IT Coordinators", ie "Instructional Technology Coordinators". Those with this title seem more likely to be involved with pedagogy, and full-time at that job. Although, last week I met with a Director of Instructional Technology for a public school district in CA, who also had to teach part-time.

In fact, in view of the feedback I was receiving, I'm using the term "pedagogical technologist" instead of "IT coordinator" to describe these people. Instructional technologist is a good term too not least because it makes that link to instructional designers clear.

    I find the district-level deployment of the technologist in CA per my expectation. In HK, technologists are employed by wealthy, non-mainstream schools.
