  • the base of the speakers sound to high pitch. especially 8 inch which is what i had with a 300 watt kicker amp. i recommend a kenwood 12'' shallow mount which gives a 1400 watt peak. SOUNDS REALLY GOOD

  • i highly don't recommend cvt kickers!!!!!!!

  • @CSM419 whats wrong with cvt's

  • @CSM419 the base sounds to high pitch in my opinion. I would go with a kenwood 12'' which come with a 1400 watt peak.

  • even thought it pounds, shit is ugly

  • Posses on broadway- sir mixalot

  • Song Please

  • Who cares what they look like? I think I would rather have ugly subs that produce a lot of bass compared to some Walmart speakers that have LED's that produce less. Everything isn't about appearance.

  • @cmann303 lol when i get the right box for my truck no one gonna see them any way they face the floor board lol they just gonna hear them

  • So i just bought one cvt 10 sealed setup, and im running 4 other speakers throught head unit, what kind of wattage amp should i get ?

    thanks

  • i dont like the way they are made

  • those are sooo ugly there my least favorite subs made matter a fact there not even on a list

  • scheiße i has you

  • scheiße

  • Hey what size are those CVT's and what kinda amp?

  • i was thinking of getting a pair of these for my truck. how clean do they sound?

  • @JS550Rider09 exactly how they look... terrible

  • @ErDaY54SwAgGiN who cares what they they look like they hit hard in my truck

  • song..?

  • am i drunk or are the cones inside out?

  • @gerbilPROJECT they're compact made for truck boxes 'n shit...lol your not drunk

  • @pinpoint45 how do weird cones help?

  • @gerbilPROJECT they dont help, but they allow for a thiner profile, so they can fit in boxes that will fit under seats, or behind seats in trucks...but theoretically, the more surface area the cone has the louder it is, thats why L7's are square, because a square has more surface area than a circle...it also explains why 2010 kickers have that really weird injected cone...its because all the sides and edges add up in surface area and allow more sound in less space.

  • Are those cones convex? Am I trippin'?

  • Song

  • Heck yeah....My posse on broadway

  • song

  • kicker is good jl is too expensive but good and there is better stuff than both of those brands even tho i like kicker a lot

  • hifonics are good amps for a decent price take a look at those

  • y does everyone like kicker?

  • @DIENAMICProductions thats a stupid question, because they are good duuuuhhhh

  • @ThundareRed kickers,..... SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DIENAMICProductions kickers own and their inexpensive beeech

  • @ThundareRed no. the kicker compvts are 200 max. thats the price of one of the lowest subs with jl audio

  • @DIENAMICProductions thats just one model, i was talking about kicker in general.

  • @DIENAMICProductions The CompVT woofers in 10" and 12" are rated to handle 400 watts continuous, not peak. I really hate peak power ratings...there is no standardization to follow. Most of the time the RMS is doubled and called "peak'. There really is no way to rate anything in "peak" power...amps or subs. Music is too dynamic to accurately measure it.

  • looks like popcorn is gona pop out of there!~lol

  • man, that was beautiful

  • @4ply87 the Rockford Fosgate P3S is nice but way more money. I'd say stick with kicker. I like kicker out of everything.

  • @BradK24 Thanks man ive heard alpine is coming out with a shallow mount type r that is supposed to be pretty beast maybe ill check that out

  • @4ply87 Thats sick!

  • I was gonna put a 12" shallow mount in my dodge dakota single cab what do you guys think is the best shallow mount sub you can get?

  • how do you run a amp on 2 ohms

  • @cecelia0903

Go to google and type in crutchfield wiring diagrams

That will show you everything you need to know

  • Posses on Broadway by Sir Mix A lot

  • what is the title of this song?!!?!?!?

  • bad ass beat though..

  • whats better, 2 ohms or 4 ohms?

  • 2 ohm hits harder

  • @romanu777

    That is 100% false.

  • why?

  • @romanu777

The only thing an ohm load has to do with is how much power you are getting

Running at 4 ohms is putting more stress on your amp, running at 2 ohms puts less stress on it

    I'm running 2 dual 4 ohm subs @ 1 ohm on a 2000 wrms amp

  • i think it's exactly the opposite because not all amps can run 2 ohm so the smaller the impedance of woofer, the more stress on your amp.

  • Not at all, 4 ohms draws more current, and you get less out of it.

Most amps are 2 ohms stable; But it is true if say I have an amp running at 1 ohm and it is not 1 ohms stable then yeah, it's gunna fuck some shit up, hahaha

  • just do: I=U/R and find out wich impedance draws more current. i say 2 ohm or less draws more current

  • @QuestioningAnswers actually the lower the impedence the more stres.. u have more current draw at a lower impedence and also have less eficiency

  • i dont quite get how ohms work. whats the best to get the most out of a amp to make your subs hit hard?

  • @Msp2011

Well you wire your subs voice coils to run at a certain impedance with your amp

You need to make sure that your subs are running the right ohm load and that your amp is stable at that(those) ohm(s)

Running, say a 1500 watt rms amp @ 1 ohm, will generally give you 1500 watts rms

After raising the ohm level you get less power

So you could have for example a Treo 1500.1 amp giving you 1500 wrms at 1 ohm, but only 750 watts rms at 4 ohms.

  • so lets say its a 300 watt amp. to get the most power and for my subs it hit hardest can wire it to 1ohm?

  • only wire it IF your amp is stable @ 1 ohm

Because if not you can fry it

  • I just want to correct you. a 1500 amp running 1ohm may be 1500 watts, but 4ohms wouldn't be 750. 1 to 2 is half. 1500 dropped in half is 750. 2 to 4 is half again, so 375. My amp is rated 500watts @ 2ohm, 4ohm wiring only gives me 250watts. it also depends if the amp is single or dual channel.

  • @bastec666 It's not always cut in half. My amp does 1000wrms at 1ohm, 600wrms at 2 ohms, and 300wrms at 4 ohms.

  • it depends on the amp, if you go lower in ohms you get more power. you can go lower by getting a lower ohm sub or by wiring it differently. look at the specs on the amps on their website it might help

  • can this sub be put in a sealed box

  • why would u put em in a sealed box....they hit harder in a ported box

  • cos ther shallow subs

  • but wouldnt they hit harder in a ported box??

  • but kicker sell them in sealed boxes

  • yea...but u can buy the subs without the box...actually i havent even seen these in the sub and box package....i jus see the kicker cvx and L5 and 7 's

  • name of song?

  • Jule30123 just get a 1 channel ( monoblock )amp a kicker 300.1 will do the trick

  • Hey guys, I'm installing 2 CVT 8" in my truck D-max. Doesn't have room 4 anythng else. I noticed that they use 200 watt RMS. Because I'm installing 2 of them, I need some advice with the amp. I was thinking of a ZX350.4 But then I noticed that's sending only 175 watt RMS a channel. I'm afraid 2 fall short. But on the other hand ZX650.4 is way 2 much. Can somebody pls advice.

  • @JUL30123 get a kicker zx400.1

  • @brotheriesh i have zx400.1 that thing hits hard as shit

  • get 2 CVT 8" 4 ohm single voice coil subs, then wire them down to 2 ohm. the amp you need is a kicker zx 400.1, it's $150 on ebay. this will run 400 rms @ 2 ohm, pushing the subs perfectly. if you have any questions feel free to message me

  • @JUL30123 yeah i agree. because the ones your talking about are 4 channel amps witch are meant to power speakers not subs

  • @JUL30123 Kicker zx400.1 mono amp, its 400w RMS at 2ohms, thats what i got for my kicker cvt 12" cuz it runs 400w RMS at 2ohms

  • i dont like em

I ran one of them at a store on the amp nearest its rms and could hear it bottoming out when barely loud

  • ugly ass subs

  • @BillGetsPaper like your mom.

  • i've never seen convex subs, they're all convex. the reason for that is because convex speakers move more air. this sound's really nice, but i think you could get more bass for you're buck.

  • you mean they're all concave

  • no, with a convex cone, the air is forced everywhere, while a concave cone presses it in one area...That is the theory, but I don't get the whole concept...

  • @lolley1100

The shape of the cone makes no difference what-so-ever.

  • yes it does, it presses the air everywhere, and your supposed to put them in a sealed box, because the air in the box compresses better that a concave cone... and the compressed air kind of forces it back out kind of like a jackhammer...(thats where the MTX jackhammer gets it's name...)I've meen working with subwoofers ever since I got out of high school, trust me, i'm a pro at these things...and I messed up on the last comment...I get the concept, not the theory...

  • NO. You are incorrect and far from a pro.

  • eh, i tried.

  • i got the exact same one in my dakota single cab and it poundds great sub all around

  • I have one of these but 10 inch shallow box in my single cab toyota. They work really well.

  • how muc do they cost i need some for my sigle cab truck

  • 90-100 a piece i got 2 in my f150 nice subs for shallows hit hard!

  • used to have one of these in my ford ranger, until it got stolen. now i got a pioneer shallow 12 and it bumps harder than the cvt12

  • well you better watch it, just a little bit too much and you can blow it. i recommend that you tune it all the way down, then bring it up slowly till you feel it start to warm up alot, then back it off a bit.

  • whatz the song?

  • Posse on Broadway - Sir Mix Alot - Swass

  • How good would a mono 400 watt amp do with these? Some one please reply.

  • I have seen a few videos on youtube with these hooked up to 400 and they seem to hit rather good considering they are on half their max power.

  • the max power isnt what matters. its the rms power, or the constant power. they can only handle 400 watts rms.

  • I mono amp means that it would only run to one speaker, if you tried to run it to two speaker you would be blowing fuses left and right. With quality speakers like Kicker your best bet is to get something around 1000 or 1200 watt 2-channel amp.

  • it would do ok, it would do better if you got an amp that pushed 400 rms instead of 400 max.

  • lol, i got a 2400 watt mono amp ordered and the way now

  • kicker and dd are made in my state dont believe? call kicker yourself

  • ummmm...dude ur wrong.kickers are made in china.

  • lol so is pretty much everything in the world

  • hmmm i always thought kicker were manufactured in clearwater, florida.

  • at one point but not any more

  • nice subs man kicker all the way

  • Sir Mix A Lot is the shizz...

  • title of the song?

  • "Posse on Broadway" by Sir Mix-a-lot ... FTW

  • i have to say not a fan....i had one p3 10 it hit harder and louder then the cvt i have now...same amp

  • from the way they move it seems that they need that cloth material inside forgot whats its called

  • What Watt Amp You Got?

  • he's not even pushing em I had the same subs two sets and they pushed way harder on my alpine 850.1 monoblock. And ya cvr's r way louder. These are loud as hell in a single cab truck which is what they are made for. And they hit tight and crystle clear in a truck box. But put em in a large ported and ur talkin bottom out and a lot of mechanical audio. It's still pretty loud just not what anyone should be looking for in bass

  • yeah they have a high sensitivity.

  • some nigga saying cvrs are better lol they are the same but skinny

  • sounds nice bro check out my 15"s cvr tell me what you think

  • What Kind Of Amp You Running On Them.?

  • Cvr's are better

  • did you read the description. the subs were for his truck, but he tested them in this vehicle in a kicker comp enclosure...

  • whats the size on that box i where can i get that sub/box combo (i can't find it kicker, maybe im just stupid) =P

  • question do u ever get ur eyeballs vibrating when u turn them up kus that happens with my p3 shallow 12's its awesome

  • these are the only kicker subs i haven't heard or owned for that matter and the computer does them no justice..got 2 L7 15s now guess i wont need them..

  • my posse's on broadway!!

  • BUY A FRIGGIN CROSSOVER!!!!!!

  • there is no need for a crossover in this set up you jack ass

  • whats a crossover do??

  • splits up audio signal into highs mids and lows

  • makes it sound alot better?

  • i have a CVT 10. it hits pretty good but tis soo damn ugly. good thing its hidden haha

  • i need 2 12s cvr or coms

  • get cvr there better

  • these subs look like cheap tacky wheel trims from pound land

  • who said they were 8's??

  • hey theres cvt with DVC orjust SVC? am buying 2 cvt cause mine cvrs r 2big,wath amp shoul i get for two 12 kicker cvt?HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1208D1200W Mono RMS PowerRating: * 4 ohms: 450 watts x 1 chan. * 2 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan. * 1 ohm: 1200 watts x 1 chan. KICKER 08 ZX750.1 750W CLASS D AMP RMS Power Rating: * 4 ohms: 375 watts x 1 chan. * 2 ohms: 750 watts x 1 chan. and the sub should i get them 2 or 4ohm.thanks man,nice system.

  • Do they sound the same as a reg sub or have a sound to their own

  • cvt are so fucking ugly

  • i had 2 ctv 12's under the back seat of my z71.. they were shit.. didnt take long for me to decide the cvr's were much better!

  • any one got any good cvrs for sale tha have good use

  • Ive got a 12" r type alpine for sale and a 12" gt 1000watt jbl sub. i have a 12" cvr kicker sub boxed and a 10" cvr kicker sub boxed. I'm keeping them tho for my car. i got a 12" n a 10" as ya get different bass levels from each sub so it sounds a lot better than 2 the same size

  • whats the song name?

  • My Possee's on broadway

  • quick question, do these subs fit in a 12inch cut hole, or do you have to cut a smaller one to fit these twelves they say like a 10 2/3's hole on the store sight, im builing my own box and i am ready to cut the hole so im kinda hesitant

  • i have these built my own box cut 11 holes and they fit perfect

  • What ugly ass subs! sweet system tho

  • haha im planning to get 2 cvt because my cvr occipies many space

  • CVR...

  • How do these sound compaired to the regular CVR's or CVT's? I'm thinking about putting two 12's in my single cab truck.

  • i dont wanna bag on this guys equip, but they dont sound that bad for shallow mounts, but u only get shallow mounts when you aint got shit for room. i had two ten inch pioneers in my last reg cab ford. do it big poopoo head. do it big

  • wuts the name of that song?

  • my posses on broadway-sir mix alot

  • is this better than sony 12" slim type wooofer? with 1500 watts peak and 380 rms???

  • anything is better than sony

  • ok so a kicker cvr is better than sony cuz i don`t know what to buy

  • yes, in every way

  • dude dont get sony, i no from experience. get kicker any day over sony. trust me i no

  • man im gonna get my cvr today

  • good decision. haha. what kind of amp u planning on running? and what size cvrs

  • alpine v12 4 channel and im gonna bridge it to 2ohm

    im gonna get cvr 12"

  • just one 12?

  • yes im gonna bridge my ampli so it will have better bass

  • not bad. but one 12 is not alot alot of bass. its good though dont get me wrong. lol. but good luck hope it comes oout ok

  • lmao heard that!

  • its same as cvr

  • no.

  • the power not the size

  • yup

  • song name??

  • I want the same systeem how did you get that box?

  • sick song to demo with "my posse's on broadway" sir mix-a-lot

  • whatever, you can keep believing your shit and doin ur thing mean while ill sit back and laugh at you

  • You are very wrong...fosgate amps are up there with #1...kicker amps arnt so great...only 2 ohm stable and put out bad power compared to fosgate, the solo x isnt that great either, ive seen some of the cones crack with just a zx 2500.1 on it, but yet they claim 5k rms on it...which is bs, my lvl 4's are louder and sound cleaner than any kicker subs i have ever heard

  • dude kicker amps pound i have a 2 zx1000.1 hooked up to 2 fosgate p3s 1 to each @ 4 ohms 500 watts rms...lol they put a crack in my blazers rear window, if they were the fosgate 2 ohm p3s a single kicker zx1000 would be a perfect match to the exact specs, u can wire them to a 2ohm 1000 watt rms load

  • i really want them to hit hard and stuff but im kinda new so whats a ported box
