@kintarben @390merc65 You ask how it breaks so easily? simple answer did you notice the IFS front end? IFS is a weak setup for off-roading, IFS is designed primarily for road comfort. And kin, there is nothing wrong with american made, I own and drive a 7.3L powerstroke F350 4x4, I push it to its mechanical limits all the time and ill tell you stock american made is as good as the rest and better than some. Ford and Chevy dominate the market.

As long as you're referring to the US marketed vehicles that Nissan makes I agree to a point.

If you were to head overseas I'd have to disagree as would most of the people who have to drive a 4x4 in foreign countries for a living or survival during certain parts of the year. Toyota makes a damn good 4x4, but when compared to the Patrol it comes in as first loser. I just wish we could get patrols here in the States. It's really like comparing red and green apples. Do you have fused hubs or something? How are you breaking so many? Glad it's just a hub and not a CV. That was a challenging spot for IFS and moderate ground clearance. Did pretty well considering.

Many things can match a jeep. The thing about jeeps (wranglers) that sets them apart from Xterra's is not their offroad capability,(although arguably better) but their durability. With an Xterra, you can do the same stuff as a jeep, but when you get into real intense offroading with rollover risks, a jeep is the way to go. Roll (flip) an Xterra and you might be off to the dealer for another. Roll a jeep, and you only have to get it back on all 4 wheels.

It seems that people want to attack Nissan. But I had the chance to drive an Xterra, and it was awesome. I was really impressed with the design.
