Idiot. Building, launching, and operating the rovers for over 7 yrs has cost $924m total. ($3 total, per US citizen.) The US War Department (err... "Dept of Defense") goes through that much money every 7 hrs. In fact, the DoD goes through NASA's entire yearly budget in 5 days. NASA's entire budget costs US citizens less than 50 cents per week per capita. The DoD costs $4000 per capita per year. That's $12,000 for a family of 4.
