This is the best performance I've seen of this especific line-up...in the Dynamo video they look letargic but here both the public and the band are tearing it up.
death's drummer is so underrated. chuck pretty much takes the spotlight. i mean hes a badass guitarist for sure hands down. but no one pays much attention to the drummer ;(
@Smackenzieth I love each drummer from death, but richard christy is ... different, he's like a power metal drummer.. or something, it's not like the heavythrashy energy of gene hoglan or bill andrews <3 <3 <3 <3
@togetheras0ne "Lol". Death is really technical, I remember you. And I think Hoglan is the technical one if we're going to talk about the drummers. It starts in which instruments you choose to play the drumms, Christy is a different style, with different drums, not my taste. I would label as technical hoglan or reinhert before christy, that was my point. asdf
@togetheras0ne In my opinion all of those three are technical, they just have different styles. My favourite Death drummer is Reinert, just because he does amazingly technical stuff that is easy to relate to and pretty groovy, the second best in my opinion is Hoglan, because he messes around a bit too much with the cymbals... I simply dont feel anything when i listen to Christy´s playing, he overplays all the time and isnt very original.
@Kent3003434 lol no this is richard christy, the drummer on human is sean reinert, he only played on that album and toured for it, then he went back to cynic, then on individual thought patterns and symbolic gene hoglan played, and for the last album: sound of perseverence, thats when richard christy came in, all drummers for this band were pretty fucking top notch though! lol
You could give credit for taking metal by the balls and twisting it into some both beautiful and brutal to both bands. Yes, Death and Morbid Angel. It takes more than just a record or two from one band to cause a style to spring forth. So yes, both bands had a hand it crafting early death metal. I will however say Death was way more original and to this day use tones and structure not found in most of todays bands.
youve never heard of possessed have you? just pay tribute to the founders of death metal instead of giving chuck who was INFLUENCED by possessed all the credit just cause his band did so much better and was a hell of a lot more melodic.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The only reason that Chuck is credited with being the father of Death Metal was because his band coined the term. I'm probably gonna get a lot of shit for saying that, but i was the truth.
ur fucking stupid u dont know shit , ever heard of a band called mantas ? the death by metal demo was released i n1983 a full year before possessed had anything out stupid uneducated fuck
HAHAHA. death isnt the godfather of death metal. a godfather is a person, chuck is the godfather. he founded death etc and anyway. no morbid angel dont say that. they know (scream bloody gore, released in 1987) (Alters of madness 1989) Dave vincent was mates with chuck. he would never say that. morbid angel are ONE of the founders tho
