Ok so there is pressure on all women to look like Angelina Jolie, then one would think that a lot of women would be striving to stay healthy and live an active lifestyle. However, we have the opposite, fat women everywhere, 75% of the population is overweight. What gives?

Women were unhappy with exhausting lives staying home all day while their husbands earned a living. Burdened with children (when they weren't at school 7 hours a day) American women were in slavery. Pushing those buttons on modern appliances, drinking coffee, watching television, talking on the phone for hours, agonizing! Fortunately feminism released the slaves to have careers of their own.

Turns out a career is just a fancy word for a life of drudgery in a mundane job.

21:30 This woman actually thinks the relationship situation in the west is benificial to women? My god where did she grow up? For a guy it's a hell of a challenge to get sex or a relationship. A woman can choose to have sex "today" or find a partner with much more ease. Yeah there are (slightly) more women than men, but the demand for women exceeds that for men by far. As for the topic: career =/= happiness, feminists have misguided women into chosing work over kids. It's all about the children.

men will become happier as we age simply because we are built for this way of life and have lived so for centuries and as we age the more accustomed we are to this life. women have been forced to enter our world only recently, so they find it unbearable and the older they get the worse it is to contend in a male world which they are not built for. i will say this, the solution does NOT lie with modifying the male world to accomodate females, as is the case today, but rather this is the problem.

@gamenode I have no idea why the wage gap is an issue. It's not something I think about because I don't work the same job as a particular male in the office does to compare. In fact, where I work if you're salaried you're not even supposed to compare salaries (why I wonder). Men submit all the time - you submit to your boss, if you're in the military and low ranking, you submit to officers, etc. Not just women submit. I agree, if a woman works, what her husband makes shouldn't matter.

Men's happiness rises because testosterone goes down as we age and therefore we care less about being single. Women become more unhappy because they are divorcing and finding that men don't want them after they are divorced or beyond child bearing age. They end up alone and lonely whereas men just end up alone. (for those that divorce)

Strange, statistics show that men commit suicide a lot more than women (around five times as much, if I'm not mistaken). As the panelists remarked, a lot of the very unhappy men are indeed dying off, which skews the statistics. It may simply be the case that men have more variance in their degree of happiness, but the lower cut is not taken into account because they disappear from the population.

Its been scientifically proven that women are more likely to be miserable than men. Its because of Hypergamy. Women are the most socially competitive creatures on the planet - women striving for the best (eg nagging all the time,) of whatever situation they are in FOR THEM. Its one of the reasons we have survived so long as a species. You cant help a women being miserable any more than me getting a hardon when i see a hot 19yr old girl walking down the road.

Maybe women should just become housewives again whose duty it is to take care of the children. I don't think women are happier working dead end 9-5 jobs.

@Castaril Women already do take care of the children whether they're at home or not. It's funny to me that men can so easily relegate taking care of the children as a woman's responsibility yet they get pissed off during divorces that they don't get custody. Why should they if working women or stay at home mom's are the ones doing the bulk of the child rearing? Men have no idea about how much time, effort and how exhausting bringing up a child is or if they do, they don't want to admit it.

Is it perhaps due to the inherent paradox in feminism? Nature programmed men to run the macro and women to run the micro, which most traditional forms of feminism completely ignored. The agenda for women seems to have been promoted to further a macro-level equality agenda without any reference to intrinsic needs or perspectives, inimical to their very nature to even be involved in. It's an old fashioned view, but women's happiness is determined predominantly by heart and hearth.
