Cheryl is my favorite PRO on DWTS (+Mark Ballas). However, I prefer "this" Cheryl

1-the Short hair made her more distinctive. Now, she looks just like the other dancers, instead of standing out the way she used to.

2) I think she moved A LOT better during her earlier seasons. I don't know if its because she's so far removed from real competition, but I don't think her turns are as fast as they were during this time. Plus, that flair she had with her movements =absent.

@mellaLee21 Mark and Cheryl are my favorites, too! I agree with your comment her short hair being distinctive. But, I think what was different about her dancing, and now, is that she has this flare that easily separates her from the rest of the female pros. Problem is, in her first two seasons, she was spoiled and was given partners who could actually dance. Since, with the exception of Gilles, she hasn't had a true dancer. So, she hasn't been able to flaunt that flare and shine like before

@mellaLee21 Cheryl isnt that good of a dancer. Anna T is better and shouldve won. Mark i agree he is a good dancer. But everyone has ther own opinions so i espect that you like cheryl the best.

But of all the female dancers, there's an artistry with cheryl's dancing that i havent seen (or maybe appreciated as much) from the others. Its hard to explain, just when she's on and has chemistry with her partners, I think she gives more feeling and charisma than anyone else in the same position.

@mellaLee21 I totally agree with you; though I think Cheryl being stuck with some spectacularly crappy partners; with the exception of Cristian, Gilles (I mean seriously Tom Delay and Wayne Newton? Puhlease!), and possibly Chad; since she won with Emmett has contributed greatly to the demise of that flair we saw with her first few partners. The only partners she really seemed to connect with were Drew, Emmett, Cristian and Giles (she kinda had a connection with Chad, but it didn't really last)

It might be because of who the producers partner her with and how much chemistry is working between her and her partner. Season 8 she seems to be smoking with Gilles Marini. Just my opinion.

During Cheryl's 1st and 2nd DWTS seasons, the hair and make up folks dyed Cheryl's hair black (it is naturally sort of dark auburn brunette) and used lot's of that spray tan on her skin (which is med fair actually). The word is they wanted to make her look very "exotic"... as if she needed help in that arena. Duh?! So her skin looks much darker than it appears in later seasons.

Remember, illusion is part of the game ... even on this show... esp on the dance floor.
