This locomotive has hydraulic transmission as well as hydraulic motor running the engine cooler fan. Well, most locomotives on US are diesel-electric, having big generator and traction elecrtric motors.. If transmission is hydraulic, there's no such things on locomotive.

Both locomotives look so old and dirty, because they haven't been rebuilt yet, unlike almost all other Dv12-class 2500-series locomotives. Rebuilt locomotives have a little grey, black or white-brown "hat" in the top, that is actually an air conditioner device. That is how you regonize it. :)
And no, we don't need those monsters here in Finland. Our tracks are 1524 mm gauge and mostly 54 kg/m track weight does not normally allow an axle load more than 225 kN. Russian wagons @ 245 kN axle load are allowed with special permission.

Trains have electric motors that drive the sets of trucks(wheels) everything else is pneumatic....

It says:1: First Dv12 2528 starts
2: Then 2532 starts.
3: Rolling towards Stop singal begins, and so does waiting for Regional train 496 to meet this freight train. And then T4059 leaves from Iisalmi.
