Anyone know if Blender 2.61 will be able to upload mesh onto Second Life? (What plug-ins would I need, I believe I got the plug-in with Python already downloaded but whenever I try to upload, I can't find the file :| )
I'm using Blender 2.5 .Using the UV map was a pain, So I colored the vertex in paint, and enabled Vertex color paint. I rendered my build and it was colored. When I go into upload mesh mode in SL, I select show texture, however, what I textured only shows up gray...
@RagingPheonix I don't think you can do vertex color paint, the correct way is to unwrap, associate a new image to the uvmap (which can either be painted straight out or baked having set materials/textures), then save the baked image on the hard disk. At this point the collada exporter should link the image for the upload window in SL. At least, that's the way it works for 2.4x, not sure about the 2.5x collada exporter.
@DarksiderDarmoset you first unwrap it and then texture normally as a sculpt. you can give it up to 8 materials, which will correspond to faces to the mesh inworld, countrary as sculpt that only have 1 face.
@RainyChief you must use the latest mesh viewer, not develop, you can find it here automated-builds-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws com/hg/repo/mesh-development/latest.html or use Kirsten's viewer.
@MikeYoshi56 you have to create the uvmap for the model, i assume you did already? in that case i'm not sure why it wouldn't work, maybe a bug relative to a particular version of the viewer

How did you texture it?

@Kikuchi81 So you baked the UVmap first? ._.
DarksiderDarmoset 6 months ago
@DarksiderDarmoset yes, you can see the baked texture at 7:00

@Kikuchi81 What if you can't bake it and get the UV map?
DarksiderDarmoset 6 months ago
@DarksiderDarmoset sorry what do you mean can't bake it and get the uv map?
Kikuchi81 6 months ago
@DarksiderDarmoset Do you have to sculptify and bake the mesh before you can add texture?

Why don't I have the upload Model option? Are you also using the second lif developer viewer?

When I import a mesh into SL (built with 3dsmax), its texture coordinates get mixed up and the model looks awkward. Is there a way to fix it?
