A lot of people here propose to get rid of nuclear weapons, understandably but not always ideal, the world needs a balance, if we get rid of nuclear weapons and base our wars on standing armys again a lot of balance will be lost and more wars will erupt, ironicaly nuclear weapons might have prevented more wars than we actually think, its more a deterrant than it is an offensive weapon today, however,the use of 1 might trigger a full nuclear holocaust that will probably end the entire human race
I wonder if they used news footage of the 1983 Marine barracks bombing in Beruit, Lebanon. Some of the scenes and the buildings in the background seems to resemble that taken by major news organizations at the time.
This movie has eerily become almost prophetic for today, around 20 years after it was first broadcast.
The only "error" the movie makes is that it shows the United States as the country who uses nuclear weapons first. The United States does not have a First Strike policy. However, Russia has a First Strike policy, and in fact publicly stated that policy a few weeks ago.
Pretty close to what is happening today huh? crazy stuff. Russia lulled us into a false sense of security. we need to put an end to all nuclear weapons. But I don't see it happening now. Russia has warned the US and Israel not to attack Iran. Russians seem to have a different agenda.
This sounds like what has been going on for a couple of decades now...
