I beg to differ. The first film is without doubt the finest entry in the series because it is the only one that takes itself seriously, as it is the only one that exercises restraint. The proceeding films were just a bit too excessive for my tastes.
Also, the soundtrack for this film was awful. It is difficult for me to fathom that the man who composed it (Jerry Goldsmith) also conceived the exemplary soundtrack for the original Omen film.

i mean for you today, in the 2009, it is no more scary than the smurfs, cause yer accustomed by movies like the hostel, the saw ect...we have seen many things today, cause the censure isn't as bigot as that time.

I beg to differ. The first film is without doubt the finest entry in the series because it is the only one that takes itself seriously, as it is the only one that exercises restraint. The proceeding films were just a bit too excessive for my tastes.
Also, the soundtrack for this film was awful. It is difficult for me to fathom that the man who composed it (Jerry Goldsmith) also conceived the exemplary soundtrack for the original Omen film.

They really should remake this. but this time at the beginning, Monica Thorn (Richard's 1st wife and Mark's real mom)
Just so happenes to be a student archiologist who took a speciel trip to Meggido a week after she & Richard adopted Damian...she never returned from that trip, she was killed with Buganhagan while looking at Damien's face on Yagail's Wall in a tunnel that collapsed and crushed them to death. that would be the first few minutes of the movie.

yah you dumbshit, the acting is terrible 'back in the day'...the studio production is god awful...the video quality is terrible...the stunts and effects look like crap...and the acting is awful and over-the-top. there are exceptions (the 5% i alluded to), but generally speaking the remakes are alway better and the only reason they are dragged down is because of the 'lack of originality'...well fuck that.

just compare Sam Neill here in contrast to his work in say jurassic park or event horizon, it's ten times better in the latter. It's like they're two completely different actors. It's because of the following: The scripts back in the day were SIMPLE and didn't require much of an effort...directors nowadays are more strict and strive for realistic acting as opposed to over-the-top antics that you see in these pre-90's shit fests (there are SOME quality movies that come from the 80's).
