This is the best movie kiss I've ever seen. Ever seen. Yeah they're both scorching and it has Oscar Wilde and glam rock and all that jazz, but when it comes down to it with this kiss it doesn't even matter who's male or who's female. It's just the kiss that convinced me the most of two characters being in love (even while Brian's a bit of a bitch - he's still my Queen Bitch.)

I am heterosexual but VELVET GOLDMINE is one of my favorite movies by JRM. He is definitely a characer actor (i.e., he becomes the person he is playing). IMO, i believe he would have made a better ALEXANDER than Colin Farrell. If I had blinked, I would have missed his part in that movie. I just pray he doesn't put so much energy into a part that he can't snap out of it; re: Heath Leder. Christian Bale was also awesome. Another great character actor. Check out his Rescue Dawn; just brilliant.

This movie opened up whole new horizons for me when I was 19. Yum.

It's a credit to the acting that I've met straight men who actually said this is one of the best, most believable and passionate onscreen kisses they've ever seen. What a compliment. :)
