@twlucasjr why do people keep on saying it was the racket!?!?! If anything, its the strings, however, its mostly just the PLAYERS! You see McEnroe's forehand. Horrible. Great volley, but horrible forehand. Tennis has come a VERY long way with the strokes and the power. I hit with a wooden racket once and it barely made a difference

this is basically unwatchable without sound. now they at least show the score constantly on the screen... here - nothing.

it is funny to see these guys, with the little wooden rackets and the short pants. mcenroe even has a sergio tacchini shirt and nike shoes...not something you'd see today. and i'm sorry - these guys serve like women. they wouldn't last 3 minutes with roddick or nadal or federer.

@interplanetariamente Il commentatore italiano era Guido Oddo.Il quale,però, tifava Borg perchè era un tennista tradizionale. Mentre Mac era per lui un ribelle,un maleducato.Poi praticava un tennis nuovo troppo audace e d'attacco per i suoi gusti.Poi però ammise che Mac era un genio mentre Borg solo una forza della natura. Pietrangeli ha sempre invidiato Mac perchè era così geniale da vincere anche allenandosi quasi nulla contro atleti come Borg,Lendl o Connors che erano,invece, superallenati.

@interplanetariamente Il periodo degli anni ottoanta il momento di massimo splendore tecnico e spettacolare del tennis mondiale il quale viveva della rivalità di almeno quattro fuoriclasse (Mac,Borg,Lendl e Connors). Chi è venuto dopo non è stato mai all'altezza di tanto spettacolo e competizione. Quando Mac girava per New York o Londra si accalcavano centinaia di persone attorno a lui. E pure Borg e Connors erano notissimi. Invece Sampras, Federer o Agassi possono passeggiare inosservati.

@angelo7513 gran periodo di tutto lo sport quello tra i 70 e gli 80..per il tennis vorrei aggiungere seconde linee del calibro di Panatta, Vilas, Gerulaitis, Noah, Edberg, il giovane Becker. Poi in Formula1 correvano insieme gente come Lauda,Piquet,Senna,Prost e Mansell..allucinante!! Nel calcio noi inaspettati campioni del mondo contro Maradona,Zico,Falcao,Cerezo,Ru­mmenigge,Boniek,Platini..E poi Mennea,Carl Lewis, gli Abbagnale, Bubka, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird..
