  • INNACURATE! .You probably didn't prep your skin properly. A good mattifying lotion, primer, and setting spray would make this foundation last waaaay longer than you would want.

  • I am so glad that I saw this because I was actually trying to figure out if this foundation worked for oily skin, but i think I'm going to try the skin clearing one that's oil free. You should too and do a review :)

  • I have really oily skin like extremely and this foundation worked awesome on me sorry it didn't work for u

  • That foundation is for people with dry skin...as I've heard. Have you tried Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation?

  • your face is so oily :o . you should buy those oil blotting sheets

  • @jassycovarrubias RUUUUUUDE

  • I like the look, but the makeup transfers on everything. i feel like i can't touch my face or i'll get foundation everywhere. i have normal skin, but i'm not in love with it. I rarely break out, but it made me break out. Scared to try it and gonna return it.

  • I don't like this stuff either! I thought I was the only one. My biggest complaint about the foundation is that it doesn't hold up. Maybe it's because of my extremely oily skin. After a couple of hours, when my oil breaks through, a lot of the foundation disappears and my imperfections start to show through. I'll be returning it.

  • i love the foundation. I get compliments on my makeup everywhere i go. sorry it didn't work for you. but i must say the dewey look looks nice on you.

  • wow, i never thought it wouldn't be good. thanks for the tip!!

  • THANK YOU!!! finally someone had the same experience that i had with this foundation!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have extremely oily skin too all over. Sometimes, I think people don't know what type of skin they have. They may get a little oil break through and think they have oily skin....same thing when people say they have fine hair...anyway, I haven't tried this because I had a bad feeling it would suck for me, so thank you for confirming it for me!

  • I mix the Neutrogena with Revlon Colorstay. I have dry skin though. It worked well for me.

  • It works for me. I have combination skin with a oily T zone and uneven skin tone with redness but not a lot of breakouts. I think the reason why it worked for me is because I used a very thin layer over my face and I only wear it when the weather is cool enough that I wont be sweating. But like you said, everyones skin is different and each persons body will react differently to what you put on it.

  • Awww how disappointing. Sorry babe.

  • haha i got it too cos of her vid! i have not used it yet because of the word day thing, but i should try it asap so i can return it if i have to. i have oiiily skin too and at the mo am loving missha 21 or 23 perfect cover <3

  • Love your nail polish! What is it?

  • @johnsmithsspottedpig thank you! it's Blagger by butter LONDON :)

  • LOL, I love your oily-dewy look! I got the foundation for the very same reason you did. I am so glad you put it out there!!!!!

I mix it with CS and need to touch up with powder by midday. Where with just straight CS I never touch up. I wear it from morning to night. I have been trying to like, but you just convinced me that not even as a mixer is it alright.

Just want to return it now. Not sure Target will take back though. LOL at your thumbnail pic, and thanks so much for mentioning me!

  • That foundation broke me out like nothing else. Crazy!

  • Which nail polish do you have on?

  • @bnelson52 it's Blagger by butter LONDON :)

  • I always mix Revlon Colorstay with this and it works great. But on it's own, it looks greasy on me and melts away.

  • I tried this because of Tiffany D's video as well and I hated it. I have normal skin and I never have issues with foundation staying on me. Not only did this foundation not stay put, but it made me look really oily after a few hours. I took it back. I like Revlon's foundations a lot better.

  • This was really popular last year here on YT because it was compared in a magazine to Nars Sheer Glow. I bought it last year and didn't like the coverage on it's own but mixed a tad of Maybelline Super Stay and loved it! This was during the heat of summer in FL, too. (I think I have a video on it). I wear BB cream now though and always try out new foundations because I'm a junkie, lol. xoxo~Crystal

  • @MissCrystalMakeup I have been DYING to try a BB cream! which one do you use? :)

  • @katiethegreater I use Missha Perfect Cover in #21. I also have it in #23. If you go to the Missha US website and register your email, you'll get sent discounts. They often have 30% off products. It's my go-to foundation for sure. Love the coverage! You may want to set it since you have oily skin but should be able to wear it. :) xo

  • I'm so glad you did this video because it's on my shopping list right now. I have oily skin and when Tiffany D said she did to and it worked for her, that sealed it for me. I had seen DulceCandy87 rave about it as well, but she said she had normal skin w/no issues so I didn't buy it at that time. I'm using MAC MatchMaster right now, so far I like it.

  • I, too, tried this because I remembered Tiffany calling it a NARS SG dupe. Bought it at target... not totally convinced about it as of yet. Wasn't a LOVE right off the bat but I will give it a few chances. I have combination skin and have used this mostly in the T-zone area as well as the area on top of my cheeks where I had some redness.

  • I hate this too! I used to LOVE it and use it religiously and now I have no idea why...I can never find a color that matches my skin tone (I'm VERY fair with VERY pink undertones) shade 10 is wayyyy too yellow for me but then 20 seems kind of dark? The coverage isn't very good, and it definitely doesn't have good staying power (and I have dry skin). I do feel like it makes your skin look better after you take it off but I could just be buying into the gimmick haha

  • I completely agree. I bought this a while ago when there was also a hype about how it was like NARS and I hated it. I took it back. I still love the Revlon Photo. You are so right....not all products work for everyone and sure if fun trying different products that our friends recommend and then sharing our experiences with each other.

  • thank you for this video! after watching tiffany's video i was really excited to try this because i've always wanted to see how Nars Sheer Glow worked out. i have very oily skin as well so thanks saving us all some money! i normally use eaither MUFE Mat Velvet + or Clinique's Acne Solution. they both have great coverage and staying power, MUFE is just a little bit thicker than Clinique's. i tried to use Revlon Colorstay but i just could NOT get past the smell. did i get a bad batch maybe?

  • @ashmccall379 you are so welcome! ColorStay does have a significant smell to it compared to other foundations. I don't really mind it, though!

  • i saw the video tiffany d did about the neutrogena, and i've heard lots of other gurus rave about it and how it compares to nars sheer glow. i was interested in trying it and i also have oily skin. i feel like it oxidizes on my face/melts off very quickly and my face looks super oily! the only time i use it now is mixed with my revlon colorstay just to use it up

  • i actually did try this cause of TiffanyD and its the best foundation i ever tried so far and i have super oily skin. to this moment i ONLY used chanel or MAC. so i guess its different for everybody. Oh and i used with loreal sm kind of base a pink one . .

  • I felt the same way about this foundation. I picked it up because everyone was saying this was a dupe for NARS Sheer Glow, which I had just run out of. I can tell you now that this is NOTHING like SG. The finish is too dewey, it only lasts 3-4 hours on my oily/combo skin, and it just doesn't have as much coverage as the NARS. I now use this for short days at school when I only have 1 or 2 classes, since it wont last more than 4 hours.

  • @abercomistergrl And I recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear and Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Foundation for long wearing, flawless coverage foundations. These last longer than Colorstay for me.

  • I didn't like this either Katie.. Slid right off my face or melted away!

  • @Ressa777 so happy to hear I'm not the only one who hated this foundation!

  • It must be because that foundation contains OIL in it, hence it not saying OIL-FREE. I find it works well in the day then in the evening/night since it does contain a good amount of sunscreen in it. To prove the oil factor, if you leave it sitting for a period of time without shaking it, it will separate and you will see a yellowish/white later on top and the pigments in the bottom.

  • @theBDMentertainment very true!

  • I have combo skin and I really love this foundation. I top it with laura geller balance n brighten in my t-zone to keep the oil under control.

  • Hi Katie, @thestylechronicles just did a couple videos within the last 2 wks talking about the Neut fdn. She said it rolled off her skin. She liked it better when mixed w/ Colorstay.

  • what polish are you wearing? :) it is beautiful!

  • @thereisabetterWay323 thank you! it's Blagger by butter LONDON :)

  • I agree with you about this one. I got it thinking it was going to be a great foundation and make my skin look wonderful. I hated it! I have oily skin as well, and it just made me look so incredibly oily. I also never felt like it absorbed into my skin and was just sitting on the top if that makes sense. I've been using mineral make up for years and I love it - I never know why I stray from that! Glad I'm not the only one who found this to be horrible. P.S.- whats on your nails?!

  • @MakeUpGal07 YES! I know exactly what you mean! it just sat on my face... never absorbed! I'm wearing Blagger by butter LONDON in this video :)

  • Kind of off topic from the video, but I have yet to try the Revlon ColorStay foundation. I have very oily skin as well, so I was wondering how long it takes for oil to to become (even the slightest bit) noticeable when using the Revlon foundation?

  • @marandaryan my face doesn't stay completely matte all day when I wear ColorStay, but the oil definitely doesn't seep through like it does with any other foundation. if I apply it around 6:30 AM, I would probably have to lightly blot (if I absolutely wanted to) around 1 PM or so.

  • Re: my skin type, I have oily/combination and very acne prone. I still have some acne scarring from as early as last year when my breakouts were REALLY bad, but my skin has been relatively well-behaved since then! (KNOCK ON WOOD) I generally try to stay away from liquid foundations, or if I'm using something similar to liquid foundation (i.e. BB cream or tinted moisturizer) I make sure to use a finishing powder over it.

  • BLAGGER! <3

  • seriosuly give me your eyebrows!!!

  • Agree with you on this one! I actually have pretty dry skin and it was horrendous. Made me break out, too! So much for healthy skin :/

  • @nurberxo <3

  • My skin is normal to dry and this looks good on me when I first apply it BUT within a few hours the coverage just vanishes, like I don't have foundation on. Not good. The sad part is that the color nude was a perfect match for me so I really wanted it to work. I will not be trying the roller ball thing she is also recommending.

  • I love it, but I have dry skin too. It definitely gives that glowy finish that you more-oily skin folks already have and we try to emulate.

  • I agree with you I have very oily skin and this foundation did not look good on me at all! I am on a never ending search for the perfect foundation!

  • I like it but I have dry sensitive skin. My favorite is the revlon colorstay for dry to normal.

  • OMG, your video thumbnail preview image! LOL

You look Iike you REALLY don't like that foundation.

I have dry skin & it was just OK...

Just keep using what's working (easier said then done!) :-)

  • i tried it and was iffy about it. it kinda looked dark on my skin so i wasnt sure if the color was wrong or if my oily was making my skin oxidizing. anyways i got a lighter shade today so im gunna see what happens fingers crossed

  • @kendrajmakeup I didn't notice any oxidizing on me, but I didn't have the first application on for very long... just a few hours! what color did you pick up? let me know if it ends up working out for you!

  • @katiethegreater i got it in nude at first and just picked up classic ivory so we shall see

  • First off, I feel like some peoples perceptions of their skin type is skewed....I have oily skin, like you, very oily. No doubts about it! Even powder mineral foundations melt off my face. I've been faithfully using ColorStay but was curious recently so I picked up the Maybelline SuperStay and the staying power wasn't as good as ColorStay. I also work in a gym and sweat alot...lol...so I need something to stay put. Thinking about trying Mat Velvet & Mat Lumiere.

  • @buggie782 oh yeah! mineral foundation doesn't last all day on me like ColorStay does. I still touch up throughout the day, but I find that it doesn't melt off of me as much as it did before I knew how to properly apply and "seal" it. I started using bareMinerals as my every day foundation just because it was lighter on my face, and I felt (and still feel) like it doesn't clog up my pores like liquid foundation does.

  • @katiethegreater I agree, BE is much lighter on the skin but the original formula makes me want to scratch my face off! lol, I'm sensitive to the bismuth oxy in it. I do love the finish it has. When I do use it I mix the Matte and original together. How do you seal it? I can't use it on work days though because I have no time for touch ups unfortunately.

  • @buggie782 I never mix matte and original; I just use the matte formula! I seal it by really buffing it into my skin with a dense brush and making sure I've applied a "decent" amount of mineral veil on top of it before I start contouring and add blush. oh, I also use the bareMinerals primer! I think that helps, too.
