Yup - the tunes are Irish, not German or Scandinavian, and I preferred to place the emphasis on the bass in the accompanying guitar, rather than on the off-beat which is the hallmark of traditional polka rhythms. :-)
Absolutely brilliant. Great tunes and well played. My fingers are too big for the mandolin, I'm afraid, and my pick would go at only quarter speed. I'm jealous.
Thanks for the kind words. The playing wasn't 100% accurate here and there - I really did it as a bit of fun - but that's the sort of speed these pieces are played at in sessions. Actually, in sessions, I'm normally the backing guitar player, but I wanted to have a crack at the tunes for a change! :-)
