  • the J22 and J25 after a little bit of tinkering are pretty good little pistols. the JA-380 and JA-Nine are good up to a point. The Zamak is not strong enough to take the force of the .380 or 9mm rounds for too many shots unless they were to make it thicker like the Hi-Points.

  • I enjoyed your review. I have a J 22 like yours and a J 25 and a Raven MP 25. I have not ever had any trouble with any of them and they are fun to plink with. I have a short video out there on my J 25; check it out and be safe and happy shooting!, Larry, Richmond, Va.

  • it doesnt have a huge reputation,,, nobody would use that thing for self defense

  • I had one of these, it was a POS.

Jennings/Bryco/Jimenez/Raven/Sterling/+others, notoriously called "Ring Of Fire" guns because they are made around the Los Angeles area in a little circle of shitty machine shops, made by the same shitty manufacturer and designed by the same asshole , all substandard shit.

I carry a pocket .22 but it's not one of these goddamn things.

  • my mother gave me one of those nice little gun bad thing about mine while i was on vacation someone rob me for it and i wannt the same gun i offered my mom yesterday 200 to go buy another one cuz i am only 18 but she dosent want to buy anymore guns

  • @millerusaf where can you buy these guns?

  • @Rebelyell42 I picked mine up at my local shop for $60. Average price $40 - $80, but there are people out there that will say you couldn't pay them that much to take the gun. I picked it up to practice refurbishing/DuraCoating a gun. I use it as my Summer Carry piece because it fits in my pocket in an Uncle Mike's SIDEKICK Size 1 holster using 22LR Hollow Points.

  • Watch me shoot mine

I was kind of hoping it does not break apart on me

    But it only half jams

    Check me out

  • Wait, how did i get from a video about beats by dre to here?

  • I have this gun and I shoot the remington bulk packs through it. I clean it every once in a while and I barely have any problems with it. I have had it go off before and it dystroyed my laptop.

  • @noobtuber530 its for people who are on a tight budjet, its better then what you have

  • Where do I buy one at?

  • ya i call mine Bob Marley. Cuz its always jammin!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i practice quick reloads with mine. that's 13 rounds and cci mini mags are rated at 1650 fps. just sayin

  • i bought an all black one of these for 25 bucks. i cleaned it when i got it and ran remington 22lr throught it. it would jam but mostly could go there 5 a clip. bought some sub sonic bullets. they sucked but mine fired perfect. very accurate at about 50 yards

  • nice looking gun for a cheap price

  • why the hell would u use that little pussy as a defens gun?

  • how much does this gun usually go for??

  • You can say cheap it's okay. THis pistol is a whore and it knows it. After watching you caress this slutty piostol. I got wet mark on my pants. I feel filthy.

  • and these were made in the U.S.A

  • i have a bryco 380cal i think the same compine make it its a good little gun

  • @ItAintEzyBeinCh33zy Lmao If its a gun fight with those water pistols ill be just fine

  • use your fists pussy

  • @1991araaron He said "gun fight".... Do you really expect to get anywhere close to winning a gun fight with your hands? Before you can even punch him, your dead. So go ahead and use your hands, have fun.

  • Arm yourself citizen

    Arm yourself

  • Yes, an inexpensive SN Special gun but....if it defends your life then, it is worth a gold-mine is it not?

  • absolutely! having a j-22 is better than having a BB gun.

  • I can tell, the author of this video knows a thing or two about handguns.

    A good author.

  • I've had a few in the past and never had a problem with any of them. It's all in how you take care of your guns.

  • Worst piece of crap ever. The niggers where I used to live traded these things in for sharpened sticks when they really wanted to hurt each other.

  • Wow, man.

    Ever

    10/10

  • idk, i think it looks cool enough, at least it works, you know?

  • Lmfao!!

  • i used this little gun when i was a prostitute

  • I can't wait to find one of these in my area. I have been looking for a cheap 22lg to play around in the backyard for a while now but all i can find is big pistols or revolvers (which I wouldn't mind if it where cheap) for =/>$250. I work at a walmart in sporting goods where we sell ammo cheaper than anywhere else. I noticed you can get 550 rounds of ammo for $15, so ever since then I've wanted a 22 that is really small & cheap. This gun looks perfect for what I'm looking for.

  • Can you get parts for the .22 Jennings ? I lost the the slide spring stop for mine....I don't care for them, waste of money, imo....

  • You can get a hi-point 380 for 140. thats the best inexpensive buy ive seen yet

  • Shot over 2,000 rounds on mine and never had a problem with it

  • I had one - it's a piece of garbage and hardly anything worth carrying to protect your life, or more so, your family's life.

  • I like it ,I have the same one....

  • Howdy, My j22 pistol fired but wont eject the empty shell. Any idea?

  • @IronmanTriathlete Sounds like the extractor spring may need replacing.

  • @IronmanTriathlete I agree with the spring issue, but if you have the skills file down the extractor arm port on the barrel. Really get a good bite going. That worked wonders with mine.

  • @IronmanTriathlete u need to oil and replace aspring i have the j25 taken apart i could show u i had the same problem and broke the firing pin

  • @raptorman120 ...don't forget to wipe.

  • If you want a summary of this video rather than watching it... The Jennings J-22, "its better than nothing"

  • I love my J22, I was shooting it yesterday hitting a man sized target on average 6/6 times per mag at 50 yards! I was surprised as hell!

  • Were the jennings bases on the sterling 302 guns? They seem very similar and my jennings mags fit in my sterling.(tho,i've never fired it w/the jennings mags)

  • This handgun seems to be a .22 version of the Walther PPK.

  • Picked one up not too long ago and it's a loud, inaccurate, and cheap little bastard.

    I love it.

  • Inexpensive and well worth having. We have several of these that were made back in the 80's and they are well worth keeping.

  • Three words...

    SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL

Thinking about robbing the corner store for 300 bucks... this gun is for you. Guaranteed to be POS and get you thrown in jail so you can have gay butt sex with people of your own color the rest of your life.

  • .22 beats .25 any day of the week , a good .22 can serve as a defense weapon at close range if necessary .

  • Hey millerusaf....What type of Ammo are you using?I bought one of this J-22's recently and was using a federal Bulk pack 36 grain hollow points high Velocity(1260fps)..The thing is the rounds case expands to much that I have to pull them from the chamber with pliers any insight to what ammo works for you?Have you ever had this case expanding issue?

  • The one I use to own, about 20 years ago, was great as far as I was concerned. It worked pretty good and some polishing pretty much ended the jamming problems. I did break 3 extractors using CCI Stingers in mine though. The extractor would actually bend and break off. Stingers were just too much punch for mine. I don't know if they've made the extractor any stronger than it was back then. Good review. I like that you also believe that a .22 is better than nothing and a viable option for carry.

  • yes im shore its a great self defense weapon.......if you want to laugh your enemy away lol..........lol no offense its a cool gun regardless i think i might add one to my collection

  • @clayclaystout I think it's a better self defense weapon than any regular pocket knife is. It does more damage than a punch to your attacker can do, especially for a small woman. I think a great point that he makes is how low the cost is for the gun, anyone can afford to get one and it is better than nothing.

  • @jboritzki just HAVING a gun has a demoralizing effect on a would be attacker. he already has a guilty conscience working against him. now he sees you have a gat. he dont care if its a .22 or a fity cal. his ass is running away. i would say at least 90% of career criminals are athiests or non believers. so they FEAR death way more than they need to. which is good for us. lol i always think about that scene from starwars where obi wan scares off the sandmen. when i run off a crook from my store

  • @clayclaystout believe it or not 22 caliber bullets kill more people in america every year than any other round. and when i was a kid i saw quite a few deer drop with 1 shot from a 22 but not always the case with 30-06 or the 30-30.

  • foes the firing pin ever shoot out into your eye? can that happen?

  • The one I own was manufactured By Calwestco with some normal wear and tear(It doesnt have the plastic or wooden handle Grips like Others, its All black metal)came with the Original box and Manuel with 2 clips and A Uncle mikes holster I paid $100 for it was that a good Deal?Let Me know I trust your opinion, thanks ahead of time,.

    -Charlie

  • @Chucky77ification As long as it functions fine, you got a good deal.

  • @millerusaf Thanks for responding back, I'll be posting a video soon of it's performance soon.

  • does any one no how i can get a hold of 1 of these in the palm springs area

  • When people say a pistol holds 6 + 1 rounds I can't see walking around with a round in the chamber for two reasons...less safe of course & also by leaving that round in the chamber you are compressing the spring constantly, causing metal fatigue on the spring..

    Wouldn't you agree?

  • PIcked mine up for 20 bucks, with 2 clips holster & ammo as well so I'm happy...

Odd thing though when I broke it down for a cleaning the sear release shaft was frozen in place with what looked like solidifyed grease....also who ever had it before had it in backwards :-P

Cute little thing though....no where as scary as having a sling shot pointed at you but a fun gun

  • wat do u mean by "Sub Compact"?

  • No I would not recommend it as a personal fire arm I just own them cause its cheap gun, and I get about 500 rounds for ten bucks, they are a blast to just shoot'em out in the woods.

  • I see these all the time for 100 bucks in my area but only with the black frame/slide and black grips. is that right on or too much?

  • you did a very good review, fair and unbias and well informative. Thank you

  • hey miller finally got one,i dont get the bashers man,its just like they bash hi-point and what but ask about their pieces and they have bottom of the barrels models with high end names,i own a 6 hi-point c9s,ruger p89,g17,g19,sig 226,cz 75,beretta 92,a couple other cal guns and now the jennings 22 80 bucks brand new unfired i like it.the other beaters cost the same so when the guy said it was unfired i jumped on it.shot 2 mags today,it ran perfect but i was running cci

  • just picked up one of these locally for $99. haven't had it out to the range yet but plan to in the next day or so. i was wondering if you've had any feed problems with certain ammo types/brands? i have alot of .22lr of various types/brands and was wondering if something was more reliable than anything else.

  • I own two for the last 10 years paid $45 for one $80 for another its a great little gun for the money. I have shot at least a couple thousand rounds on each never had a problem just keep em clean and oiled.

  • Are they really that cheap at a gun shop?

  • @ShawnSamLeahUsername well I got one at a gun show , the other at the local outdoors flea market. Yeah there pretty cheap all around I think they will end up being a collectors item one day.

  • Is that pistol made out of zinc alloy? Has it any steel parts except the springs, firing pin and other small working parts?

I like these types of pocket pistol. :D

  • he said what its made of in the video

  • I've owned two of these firearms and I wouldn't use either of them as a self protection weapon. They do not chamber rounds well.

For personal protection I would go with a Taurus "Slim" 9mm. Compact, trust worthy and does more than tick anyone trying to harm you.

  • lol, engineer and scout pistol, i want that one

  • how much is this and where can i get one

  • They are now marketed under Jimenez Arms, and the model is the JA-22. They average around 100-150 dollars, depending on your area, and you'll have to check with your local gun dealer to see if they will order one for you.

If you want an actual older Jennings like I have, you have to check the pawn shops and interent auctions.

  • @millerusaf will u sell me that one?

  • @dodgehemi997

There was a guy at the gun show I went to last weekend offering a half dozen or so examples of these in the range of $115 - $140...

  • @dodgehemi997 IDK if this guy shoots his JA22 but i am a gunsmith and have worked on jennings/brycoarms and they are very unreliable. you dont want one. But if you do want one just get it from a pawn shop cheap. and its not a good carrygun. similar in price is the nagant revoler around 100 bucks and it is way more reliable.

  • @mutherfuckyou concur i talked to some people told me the same and i want to get one but the nagant ammo is more expensive but i also heard you can shoot 32 super out of it but not sure how good that will be for the gun think it is higher pressure then the 7.62x38r ammo

  • i have seen people firld strip it but could you go into detail with it i really wouldnt want to dick up my gun

    Thanks

    Tim

  • thanks again! that site has parts for all my guns, even the old ones.

  • damn that was fast! thanks!!!

  • good vid. do you know a site to get extra parts?

  • Go to google search and type in:

    numerich gun parts

Click on the first site in the listing. Numerich is pretty decent.

  • dry fire of any rim fire weapon (without snap cap) will cause the firing pin and chamber to be damaged. It doesn't happen with just one drop of the hammer, but many hits will cause a dent in the chamber and a mushrooming of the firing pin which causes failure to fire.

  • Don't forget to tell people to never dry fire a rim fire firearm.

  • LOL, My wife has one of these. It was her very first that her dad got her when she was about 18 or so. We've had a few issues that I've had to fix, but she still uses it as a CC weapon once in a while.

  • You do very good vids.I have had a couple of Jennings in .25 caliber. Thanks for the video.5*s.

  • Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it.

  • nice video.can you do one on the Taurus 22cal also!.Thanks

  • Thanks!

I'll do one shortly on the Taurus PT22. I've been meaning to do one, but I've been pretty busy.

  • where i live that thing would cost like 200 bucks, how much does a box of 50 blazer 9mm cost where you live

  • When it's in stock, I can pick up 115 grain Blazer FMJ for $8.99 (PMC 115 grain costs the saem also).

  • how much did it cost

  • It cost me 75.00 dollars.

  • Forgot to mention, this is Edub from HPFF. Once again, I really enjoy all of your videos.

  • Nice video, Sgt! I really like how you do a safety check first. All of your reviews are very to the point and are done quite objectively.

My J-22 functions pretty well with the CCI MiniMags - both RN and HP.

  • Thanks for the compliment.
