  • can you explain biologically how caffeine "drives herbs into your system"?

  • You are so generous to share these recipes, Dara.

I'd love to try this and see how I feel.

  • HaHAHA! I love your response to the blender overflow and love that it was left in the video.

I am starting with just Maca, Cocoa and Lucama but I have a trip to whole foods in the near future and I cant wait to stop up on some new foods.

  • Is raw cacao dehydrating like coffee? just curious.... I personally can't handle it

  • Thanks!! i so want to learn more about herbal medicine etc...

  • Dara, I'm so super excited! I received all of the ingredients in the post today and just made the "tonic." Oh my - this is some serious yumminess. Thank you for your brilliance beautiful Dara!! <3

  • I gearing up to do tonics. I need to let go of the coffee. i have this horrible get on & off coffee syndrome.

I would love a tour of what you keep in your kitchen as far as all these small bottled goodies you come up with.

You are feeding me totally. Would love to meet you some day.

  • I have to really try one of those tonics! They look very interesting.

The idea to do a tonic with just a few things to start will probably how I will have to do it until I can get some of the mushrooms and stuff. :)

  • @wjrsb58

good idea. start small. until you gather.

i am doing a dvd on tonics this week.

    :)

  • Just found your channel! This looks wonderful! I think it will help me so much through Washington DC's winter months! Excellent video to follow along--loved the tip on coconut oil and hep seeds making it creamier too!

  • @dth3545

wonderful. so glad you like it ! cauli popcorn does not need as much water as i added. just use a little to mix the seasonings! ;) Dan and Penni are my peeps. love them. :)

  • @dth3545 glad you liked it! yay. have fun!

    :)!

  • thanks dara, i will be near an asian market next sat when i hit the farmers market in ithaca, maybe they will have some of those ingredients, i dont need them all im sure but when you poured that tonic in those glasses it sure looked good, i hope this works, i.ve been wanting to get off caffeine along time. im afraid i am prone to things ive done for 38yr's LOL! happy 4th see you in the vault. dave.

  • @dth3545

go slow off of coffee. it is an intense detox. i had a hard time. fever, chills,

it is addictive. have some caffeine like tea, green tea but not a lot. weaning is

the best way. you can do it. your intestines and skin will thank you. :)

  • thanks dara i think that will do nicely could take awhile to get the ingredients but i see what you mean [play around with it] maybe i can find some local stuff..thanks again.

  • @dth3545

take your time. gynostemma tea can be found at asian markets

and get some reishi mushroom powder. see comment below :)

  • I just found gynostemma tea (bags) at the Asian market. A box of 20 tea bags was $2.79

  • @Jacki3300

    excellent!!!

  • hi dara - can you tell me what cups you are using? mugs without handles? i love them!

  • @dtadpole thank you!

have fun with it. silly lil lid mistake!

  • vegans are like beautiful goddess woman lol

    I want one

  • that looks awesome. do you think it would be somewhat caloric? and about what would you say the cost would be of all those ingredients?

  • @ZeBeFruity

    no not too caloric.

    i will have to estimate.

    they can be pretty pricey.

use sparingly and still enjoy. try maybe just reishi.

  • Wow girl, you are a veggan diva! I'm never going to cook like this. I'm pretty sure of that. You go girl!

  • @Angelwise11 i don't cook ;)

maybe you can prep like this. thank you!

  • Soo agree with you on the addictive thing, one, then one more, then one more again, then before you know it I am back to 3 double espressos per day minimum

  • @kundalini77

it is ridiculous how much i love coffee when i drink it. i justify...blah, blah, blah. :)

however from the looks of me after a month. it is obvious is doesn't agree.

so cheers to our subbies for coffee!

  • It would be wonderful if you could do a makeup video. Look forward to it:-D Have a great, glorious and green day. hugs

  • This is so timely. I had gotten off coffee for a month (yet again) & now I am drinking it again. I find it such a challenge & look forward to incorporating some of your tonic drinks to help me with this. I get such a boost watching you.

  • @lonisira

it ropes me in too! wow. tonic time! :)

You are a wealth of information & inspiration. THANK YOU!!!

  • @lonisira

  • damm Dara, you look like a model in this video. If Heffner sees this hes going to ask you to pose for playboy!

  • @randydandy1974

    :) wow.

  • This looks interesting! I'll be 40 next year and have never drunk coffee, but I do like chai sometimes. Are all these ingredients expensive? I don't know if they would be available in Australia.

  • @avene

do chai with vanilla and maybe one of the ingredients, chaga? or reishi mushroom powder. good

luck in your search. let me know!

  • @ 8:09 made me laugh so hard. so glad you kept that in there

  • @mariaperiwinkle

so ridiculous. wow. i laughed at myself. and i too

am glad i left it in. one mistake per vid!

  • I adore tonic elixirs! So happy you made this vid, Dara. Drinks like this are foundational for me b/c they offer such deep nutrient-density!

    P.S. Lucuma is not a root.. it's a Peruvian Berry =)

  • @EdibleGoddess

    ahhhh thank you! :)

  • What Blendtec do you use? I'm doing my research now on the tools I'll be needing to make better food.

  • @mayaquice

it was the $ 600 model. crazy yes. but the way i use these things...

  • Your skin looks so beautiful like 20 yrold! Are you naturally tanned? Wich kind of coconut oil do you use in your skin the solid or liquid one? Waiting for your makeup tut....:)

  • @shiroirobin

  • @HerbalEranah

    yay for your cousin! :)

  • Never heard of like ANY of that stuff you used. Buying it all would cost a fortune. Blah

  • I am ordering a lot of the superfoods online soon. I would love to get green tea into my system instead of coffee. It's just so strange in CT, even Whole Foods doesn't have a lot of the items that many raw foodists use (for instance lacuna.....the woman never heard of it.....!) Thanks to the internet, everything is accessible.

Thanks again Dara. You definitely shd have a TV show. I emailed OWN (Oprah network) and gave them your name! haha never know with that law of attraction!!

  • @woollyblue

thanks Carolyn, i know that what is meant to be will be :) and i don't get any of this at WF

    either. online is amazing!!!

  • I love the mistakes and the laughs. Especially the laugh.

  • @darealdjnutz

Need google all those ingredients cause never heard about them before... you know sooo much! Thanks Dara!

  • @shiroirobin

you are welcome! this drink is so wonderful.

  • I love you Dara!!! :) You're awesome. I so needed this and have been waiting like a puppy for you to post it. haha

  • @Holliberryful

hahaha. i know! that is why i did it! :) no more coffee ever!!!!

    ;)

  • With fresh ground vanilla, do you grind up the pod too? Or is it just the seeds scraped out?

  • @internalizepeace

    ground bean

  • Another great video, Dara. THANKS. I'm so glad that I found you thru Dan The Manly Man!

  • Do you have any other recommended super herbs or powders?

  • @tora604

there are so many!!! that is a vid. :)

  • Hi Dara, This was a great video. You are getting me closer and closer to going raw. =) I even talked to my husband about it the other day. I would love to see a video about the properties of all of the things you know about. You know SOOOO much .. girl you should write a book. I have a question.... I was wondering if you might know a tonic or herb or ?? to boost a woman estrogen and help with acne or skin problems? Thanks & I am sooo jealous of where you live. =) Just saying .. LoL =)

  • @Tresisme1

    you can do it!

i will do what i can. google that question. i am getting sleepy :)

  • @daradubinet okayyy ??You could have waited till morning hun. =) & I know I can google the question. My 6 year old granddaughter knows that I can do that. haha =) I just thought I would ask you as you seem to be very knowledgable & I trust in what YOU say instead of sorting through sites & people reviews.I thought you might know what might help me. I'm starting to go through what I think is early mentopause & was looking for something that might help. I will look it up on my own though.

  • @Tresisme1

haha i shouldn't have answered i was sleepy! thank you for trusting me. i will see what i can do to help.

:) and let me know what you find if it resonates with you.

  • Dara looks like Jill St John

  • @jackinla8

i used to hear that a lot :)

  • Great demo.

  • Dara can you please do a video on adrenal fatigue & what you recommend. thanks :)

  • That's a lot of ingredients! Can it be made in advance or will the beneficial properties be lost or decrease by the next morning?

  • be careful blending hot liquids..i think that is one reason they have that hole in the lid..

  • Thank you so so SO much, now I'll write all those ingredients and see if I can find those in my local health organic store. If not I may have to order some from the U.S. so it would be nice if you let us know the address where we can order those. Again, I want to thank you so very much, I'm sure it will help me a lot to get rid of coffee.

  • I have been waiting for this tonic recipe!!! Keep on with the keeping on!!!

  • i need my daily dose of Dara

  • i never been into coffee but high grade matcha is a great alternative (powdered green tea)

  • You must have some bucks because all that stuff is expensive !

  • It looks Soooo YUMMY!!! Going to look up some of your ingredients just to see what I can find. I know if you use them, they are good for us. I'm so grateful for you teaching us. Thank you for taking time to teach us. :-)

  • Are all your seasonings organic? What is dangerous about nutmeg.

  • @lyndaraven

nutmeg can get you high and give you a hangover

if you have too much! activates in body 6 hours after you ingest! ;)

    go easy.

  • @lyndaraven Nutmeg gets you high, things that get you high are potentially dangerous

  • please write out ingrediants.

  • @lyndaraven

    i am right now :)

  • holy complex... nothing simple about any of these recipes...

  • @alexflum

things are sometimes complex. you can simplify

    tea-cacao-chaga-vanilla- salt-coconut oil. there. simple :)

  • where can i get the vanilla powder? do you grind it yourself or buy it that way? love this recipe...yummy.
