  • that night i got my finger down the girls undies and fingered her pussy. I was hooked on rocknroll (and pussy) ever since.I was fourteen and this was at the Armidale town hall in 1976. I bought rabbits album from a second hand store in England years later. Rabbit please reform!

  • THIS IS THE FIRST ROCKNROLL BAND I EVER SAW. Rabbit were the support band for T M G and were so much louder cruder and lewder than them. They were so loud. Actually a thgirl who was in my class at Uralla high school had one of those green light sticks and she bit the lid off it and threw the contents all over the guitar player. It was all green and luminescent but after Rabbit realised the green stuff took the paint off their les paul guitar they refused to play unless the culpret was kicked out

  • Jeez i wonder if they'd ever heard Kiss Alive at this point

  • ULTIMATE CLIP of HARD ROCK

unknown but so AUSSI I want to kill of Midnight Oil

  • RADIB

  • Dave Evans is a very GOOD R&R singer/frontman.

  • Fuk Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks nzoz, brings back memories. For a time the band was called "A Rabbit" (check the kick drum at the start of the Lady La-Di-Da clip). Story goes that when they were looking for a name someone suggested that they just pull something out of a hat, to which someone replied "What, like a rabbit". so "A Rabbit" stuck for a while. I guess they dropped the "A" when they started recording.

  • to aussie legand baz. Actually we call someone a Wombat cos he "eats, roots, shoots & leaves"... has nothing to do with rabbits.

  • @gordanslave. Actually we call someone a Wombat cos he "eats, roots, shoots & leaves"... has nothing to do with rabbits.

  • my boyfriend showed me this song and while it was playing i saw out of my window someone rolling down the street in a wheelchair now all i can think of is 'too much wheelchair'

  • How much good Rock music did we have in Australia back in those days...spoiled for choice we were. Now look at the stupid Sony corporate jinggles we have to endure. Crap forced into our ears by one stupid black corporate arse licking uncle tom Rapper after another and the first thing they all want to tell you is how MAD talented they are. None of them can sing or even play a fucking tamborine let alone an instrument. How talented do you need to be to mumble shit no one can even understand!

  • God damn this song fucking rules, makes me wanna skip class and NOT do my homework!

  • SEE? it was AUSSIES than invented Hair metal like 10 years B4 the Yanks and Bonjovi invented 'Hair Metal'!

Already even at this early stage you can see a distinct KISS influence already!

    Dave Evans, GR8 stuff!

  • damn it, how I miss the '70s...

  • dave evens? ac/dc bad move

  • Love the ending .Balls out rock

  • Dave Evans was not good for AC/DC...instead he did a FINE GREAT JOB with this amazing band...!!!!and i love AC/DC and Rabbit!!!!True rock'n roll!!!

  • I have the LP still and I saw them live at Roctober for 3xy. great band.

  • This kickss ass

    Rabbit and AC/DC Rules!!!

  • This was their best song.

  • Shades of Spinal Tap! Gotta love Dave Evans though...I dig him. He is the first singer for AC/DC, is on the first recordings issued, and thats a FACT. That alone puts him in the rock and roll history books...!

  • I could easily see someone making a parody of this tune: "Too Much Rocky Road". LOL!

  • this song was released on CD in the mid 90,s on a complition CD called ''do yourself a favour'' ..other 70s band like Feather and Finch are also on the CD ..theres probably a few copies in second hand CD stores ..internet ..etc..

    Leslie

  • bass player jim porteous brother was the doc in the old tv show ''a country practice'' i cant think of his name tho'

    Leslie

  • this cassette went for 40 bux on ebay a casette gee i bet the inyl would cost a bit i picked up the 45 single for 4 bux man its one awesome song.

Do you know if this has been reissued on a cd?

  • I wouldn`t mind getting a copy of this album too. Hopefully one day it`ll get re released on cd

  • WOWOW!!!

  • Kickin' Track!

    Rabbit Rock!

  • these guys could've had a huge hit 4 years ago, when jet was big. ironic.

  • Snave my earlier comment was the same as yours. Just a bit of tongue in cheek irony.

  • Complete ripoff of JETT. WTF... Rabbit was in 1975 if anything JETT ripping off RABBIT.

  • As a young kid I found this album in my older brother's collection. I've always luved the pic of the guitar with the tomato sauce dripping out of the jack haha.

Can we have this uploaded in better quality?

  • where can u get this album?

  • You can NEVER have enough Rock n' Roll!!!

  • I'm slowly figuring out how to play this on guitar by ear. Here is one part of the song: G string: 8/7 8/7 8/7 8/7 then B string: 10/8 10/8 10/8 10/8

  • Love it!! Thanks for putting up the video!

  • A complete rip off of Jet, how dare they? What's next? Another Wolfmother?

  • funny.

  • Seems I may have confused bands here....

  • Rabbit or Kiss ... who came first ?

This song = very strutter & cold gin

    hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • no they are not similer!!!!

    kiss is more hardeock

and rabbit is more like glam metal like autogrfgh!!!!

  • awsome song. this was a really good band.. i wonder y they werent huge.. they were better than some of the bands..

  • Back in the day in South Africa, apartheid ruled all. They were pretty big in SA but no where else. Trevor Rabin went on to be with YES...I think Trevor writes a lot of movie music now.

  • Mindispower, this is not the South African band Rabbit... this is the Australian group!

Please read the description before making comment. It'll save you from looking silly.

  • Yup, that would have helped......

Must confess, don't really mind looking silly. We all do at some point.

  • @mindispower VEERY nawsty cockead! REED the description! AUSSIE does NOT = Sth Africa!

    Bluddy Sprungboks!

  • Must tab song.

  • This is gonna be a good one!

  • This is funny shit!

  • I found a website were you can download both of the Albums, they KICK so much ass its unbelievable. The Self Titled one is like a RocknRoll/Punk masterpiece. So good.

Its amazing they chose the word Rabbit. How about Kangaroo? That might have been better.

Did you know there are Three other bands called Rabbit.

RABBITT (south african band featuring Trevor Rabin of yes)

WRABIT (canadian outfit I dont know much about)

Also this guy called RABBIT who did a solo album . Crazy

  • Kangaroo! That may not have been a bad name for them at all! Perhaps even Karangaroo (a play with the magazine title and the name of the native animal).

I'm guessing Rabbit's history may trace back to the early 70's when it was not uncommon to come across a band name like Rabbit. They were probably hippy-prog-rockers before they turned glam-metal.

  • Where is the site that I can download the songs from?

  • *shrugs*

    Don't know.

  • Gorgon what is the sitw where you can download the albums?

  • @gorgonslave Dave Evans called the group 'Rabbit' rather than 'Kangaroo' (as you suggested) for the simple reason that a Rabbit eats roots and leaves. This sounds stupid but in Aussie slang 'Eats, 'Roots' and 'leaves' translates as Eats=perform oral sex on a woman, 'Roots=have sex ...and 'leaves'...well that means to fuck off afterwards!

  • @gorgonslave Hiya, do you know the website where I can find this album - you mentioned it. Thanks, I remember this band, highly underrated,

  • i love Dave Evans, and I love Rabbit, but why didnt he just call the band BASHER or SMASHER or somthing, that would have been better.

  • The band was already called rabbit before he joined. Why they didn't change it beats me.

  • Rabbit is a lame band name

  • WoW,this out Spinal Tap's Spinal Tap

  • good one :(

  • Now how can I play this on a real instrument?

  • I wish I could purchase this album... But When do copies come on ebay?

  • outstanding , if it wasn't for you tube you would never know

  • This video really screams that fast playing doesn't matter.. Creativity does. This song is great!

  • I found out the name of the mysterious player! Hi's name is david hinds.

  • Dave Hinds ended up joing Finch/Contraband after leaving Rabbit.

  • Hm, Didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know, What type of band was finch? Hold it, Did you say "Joining" Or "Doing"? (There is a typo)

  • Agh! Who is the mysterious FIFTH person in the group? I know who the Bassist, Drummer, Singer and Lead guitar player are, But Not even wikipedia has info about him!

  • I thought these guys were from Canada?

  • australia and its a nice copy of Kiss :P

  • Great band. was very much produced as a show...which many other bands worldwide were doing.......I seen them many times with Dave singing and with Greg Douglas.....the band grew at a rapid rate after they added first frontman Greg....then exploded with Dave...I dont think they coped anyone...it was what was happening with rock bands at the time....I can honestly say I'd seen it done before Kiss......was just great hard rocking 70's rock......not copied just what was the fashion at the time

  • did u just see that dave evans is gay but i like him he good singer

  • Comment removed

  • Dave Evans is great!!!

  • poor fucker.still pretty decent hard glam rock actually.

  • Geeze, that's so "Strutter" Kiss, it's not funny.

  • They were before kiss

  • Recheck your math. Kiss released Strutter in 73. By 76 Kiss was huge. This video is from 76. The choreographed stage theatrics, the smoke and explosions - all vintage Kiss.

  • Maybe, but they didn't know about kiss(I know Dave Evans and have heard the story from him personally) they got the costumes idea from the movie clockwork orange and then went back to Jeans and T shirts when people started accusing them of copying kiss.

  • Well I was around at the time and EVERYBODY and their dead granny knew who KISS was by 1976 so someone is tellin you a little white one I think...sorry.

  • they started in 1974

  • If you read carefully I said "everybody...KNEW who Kiss was BY 1976", I didnt say Kiss started in 76. They started before Rabbit. If I recall I first saw Kiss on Countdown in the school hols of 75, but people in the music industry already knew who they were before that. I believe Skyhooks saw them in the states and talked about them. Remember again I was alive then, according to your profile your 21 so you werent were you.

  • Well, the point is they quit doing the outfits when all the kiss stuff came out, but they got the outfits from "clockwork orange".

  • Cool video. I was wondering what happened to the fairy that first sang "Can I sit next to you girl?"

Joking aside, this is a good song.
