completely agree with everything you've said in this video. Making videos used to be fun and we'd look forward to reading feedback comments etc but now its just turned into a competition, with who has the best camera/editor. I used to love making videos but now it seems like a chore. I used to go on your channel every week to check for new videos! Such a shame its changed :(
Well said, and may I say wow you look good! Youtube I think has made me sad. More and more these days. Even the quality of the new people are crap. I rarely come on to watch people these days compared to all the time more than once a day back in the day. I rarely even comment because of the new baddies. I still go on, like once every day or few days. But I really wish things didn't change so drastically..
@ACTORDAVIDTRAN yeah i agree. like at least with facebook changes, the whole idea of what the site is has never changed, unlike youtube where the whole face of what it is has dramatically changed. youtube is essentially two websites, one for amateurs and one for a cooperate business. they should just make a new website for their business. they've just turned youtube from being a simple fun social networking website into a money hungry business.
The opportunities that have always been there are still there, if you're interesting and good at making videos, you'll do well and can enjoy yourself.
Same goes as with watching videos, youtube is the same as it always has been, there are just more people now, there are some big channels going which are quite commerical, just don't subscribe to them. There are still so many awesome channels going. Perhaps you need to look inward, it sounds like you're just jaded to the whole vlogging scene.
@BodieChannel some good points. however, vlogging is the foundation of youtube. youtube use to promote videos based on their merits, these days, if you take a look at the front page, the videos that are there being promoted, have been paid to be put there. a lot of youtubers are making more videos (many uploads per week), but less quality, just to make money. being a partner use to mean something, it was rare to even have one. these days, partnerships are handed out like lollypops.
@kommanderkt More partners shouldn't effect anyone, especially if they're no good. I feel that youtube has if anything, cleaned up a bit over the years, there seems to be a lot more channels with a proper focus, rather than just vlogging about nothing. At the end of the day, if you make shit videos, you'll lose viewers, nobody will subscribe, and you'll disappear into the crowd of really average channels.. If you're good, offer something fresh and of a decent quality, you'll do well.

@bradoneillmusic yes, see, im sure a lot of people are unhappy with the current state of youtube. ive lost interest in using the site, not so much in making videos :) i'll be making videos more, but i'm not too worried about it being on youtube, it could go on any video sharing website :P ahh kaptiankt was tainted after my partnership was revoked :( i just felt i worked really hard to get a decent amount of views, and they didnt care about my appeal. haha yay thanks for voting! :)

partnership is deffently not easy to get now at all back before google owned it, it was alot easier was people with say 100 subs and 20k views got it
they are offereing every one motiziation on there videos but not full partnership so now any one can make money off there videos
