  • Summer of 80! :)

  • The guitar solo is one of my favorite solos of all time.

  • this guy never plays a bum note in that solo - ever. i've heard him loads of times from the 80's onwards. always spot on. mind you, a wrong note would sound bloody awful in this - unlike a lot of bands I could think of. It's a great pop tune. One for the books!!!

  • is this Russell"the voice"Watson singing here?.Seriously though what songwriters they are !!

  • Lifetime Squeeze fan, this is the best of it. Talent throughout this band, arrangement, vocally, musically, this is the bomb.

  • They were AWESOME last night in Hamilton, at the Festival of Friends. YOU ROCK!

  • My fave Squueze song

  • Slick band, pros...Difford made a good decision in putting Tillbrook out front, blond haired pretty boy...What makes this band is the unique combination of Diffords baritone and Tillbrook's tenor voice...Difford also a top notch lyricist, and probably wrote quite a bit of the music, too...Tillbrook top notch guitarist, creative solo on this...Nobody writing songs like this anymore, record business a bunch of zombie artists with no knowledge of music history, run by NWO type yuppie execs.

  • @perkypuppet yes, indeed

  • I could listen to this a million times and never tire of it. Bloody fabulous!

  • My mom likes to brag that she met them. Love these guys.

  • Nice one Wiggy lad.

  • squeeze are back!

  • This song rules XD

  • Great song, Great band!

  • Trillbrook is cool

  • ¡Un súper clásico de los 80's!!!

A super classic form the 80's!!!

  • I always thought Glen was pretty hot (and he reminds me of Andrew McCarthy, lol)

  • bloody brilliant

  • one of the best groups ever, brings back memories from the late seventies early eighties

  • I've known this song for years, I'm glad you've found it. Check out the rest.

  • These guys are so brilliant. One of the best, and sadly, most underrated band EVER! Love live Squeeze!

  • ...when I think back to when I was a kid I now realise squeeze wrote some brilliant songs, top notch songwriting!!

  • jools had just left the band for the first time just before this...

  • So fit Gregg wonder what he looks like now?

  • Great sounding audio. Thanks for uploading this brilliant song =))

  • the sound is incredible-mixing rock with synthesized pop of the 80s. very innovative and original back then when people still believed in the power of music.

  • great tune...chris difford's solo cd is also very good...

  • spot on mate spot on squeeze were so under rated. shame music like this doesnt exist anymore.

  • Glenn had it all...great voice, fantastic guitarist, dreamy looks. Why he wasn't as big as Elvis is beyond me.

Saw them in St. Louis in 82. Saw them in Nashville in Sep. and they still have it. See them if you get a chance.

  • my god is this from 1980 where the hell does time go to

  • that title alone is so brilliant

  • Squeeze......heart.,

  • What a great song!!! Just re-discovering Squeeze here, awesome band. And Glenn Tilbrook is just so darn cute in this video. And his voice.....wow! Good stuff.

  • Saw them in Nashville this week. They are still as brilliant as ever - great show. This was the encore. You'll have a great time!

  • Man...talk about underated guitar players! I saw Glenn live in NYC a few years ago. Amazing!

Met the whole band in the early 80's when Singles was released. They flew over on the concorde and landed at JFK. They gave away really cool T-shirts too, wish I still had it. I remember chis saying.."ok, let's mingle" as he greeted the crowd.

  • simply one of the best english bands ever

  • Keep in touch let me know how you go on and I will find other sites for you also there is a fantastic DVD out called "one for the road" following Glenn Tilbrooks solo tour of the U.S. a couple of years ago it will give you a taste of what you can expect I thoroughly recommend it.

  • Wow. They are kids here. look so young. But, this is one of my favorite squeeze songs. Just so catchy.

  • How good is the rhthymn section with the farfisa organ just floating in the back like that?

  • What they kept Jools out of the video on purpose? Damn could have give showed the guy a little. He wasn't long for them at this point.

  • Saw Squeeze at the Manchester Apollo in 1980 and again in 2007. They were just as good as they ever were and it was so good to see them 'friends' again. Wish they would record more and tour again.

  • well superb best they did

  • Read all the comments on here, or on any other Squeeze posting, and I think the band are even more appreciated now than they were in the 80s. I've seen them about 20 times since '76 but the best concert they did, the one with the biggest, noisiest, most partisan and appreciative audience was the one at Hammersmith in December. History will surely remember Squeeze as one of the best English bands in history.

  • Seen them over 30 times agree with everything you say December 07 in Liverpool will live with me forever.

  • Gosh, i've never seen them live. I wish i would have. They still sound so great live from a 2007 show.

  • I have a feeling when the U.S. tour is over and Difford and Tilbrook have completed there solo engagements I think there may just be another U.K. tour especially as there is a new album out next Monday.Try and get to see Glenn Tilbrook and the Fluffers on their U.K. tour later this year well worth it.

  • Guess what? I live in Ohio and i haven't been following Squeeze tours or anything, but i might just check them out now. I use to listen to them in the 80s in my childhood, and some of these songs i still like. Gosh, you've seen them so many times. Their shows seem darn good.

  • They are currently in the U.S. if they are near you I strongly recommend you go see them if you can get a ticket they are extremely popular in the States if not go and see Glenn Tilbrook next time he's touring the states he is usually tours there once a year.

  • I'm going to find out more about it. Thank you hun. = )

  • Check out Glenns site at Quixotic records.

  • Thank you I will. = )

  • 1980?

    Jeez I'm old.

  • YEAH...

    Juss turned 43 m'self.

I just loved this song whenst i was 15...sniff.

*scuze me,gotta take my TEETH out to blow my shnozz.

Maybe i will make no more engaaaaaagge-mmmmmmuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-

    uuuuuuu-uuuuuu-uuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnttzzzz.

  • I hope someone posts a lot more Squeeze.

  • i think it's chris who looks like basil. (also a bit like the bloke who does 'bargain hunt')

glenn looks like bill clinton (slightly thinner version) but sings well and is a cool guitar player, too.

  • he looks a bit like chris de burgh. sadly...

  • yep, Glenn is a brilliant soloist.

  • Heard this song for the very first time on a flight to Hawaii in 1983.(RIP Wardair, the finest airline ever, none will ever come close!)

Hearing this tune again takes me right back!

  • Great song.... I really can't figure out why it didn't do as well as some of Squeeze's other big hits.

  • he was so hot!!

  • Glen you rock.

  • It looks like they hate, or at least dislike each other at first as they are both focussed on singing (or miming) at the microphone without any eye-contact. Towards the end of the track, if you watch the less close-up shots of them, what seem like genuine smiles are exchanged between them on more than one occasion.

Whether they just found the whole miming thing amusing at the time, or were good friends is something I don't know.

  • This post should have appeared as a reply to amandalee7747

  • WAS IN the falklands when i first hear it and had to hear irt everyday to keep me going...brilliant

  • That track is incredibly good, I would say it is even better than the other more well-known Squeeze tracks I'd heard many times before. I caught this today on Dave (formally UKTV G2 which I can see is where this video was sourced).

I don't know which one Glenn is but the guy in the black shirt is absolutely gorgeous (or was 27 years ago when this was recorded ;) and the other guy is quite nice too.

I will say it sounds much better as an MP3 download, but it is good to see them performing.

  • I assume it is you who also uploaded it onto the ed2k network where it is being shared at a much higher video (if not audio) quality, I have now managed to download it and they rock. Given that they were miming in the TOTP performance, I'll combine it with a high-quality MP3 download from the "Essential Squeeze" album to truly appreciate Glenn's vocal and visual talents at their best.

  • So catchy!

  • what a great song.....just loved the music of the 80s....makes me feel like dancing!!!

  • besttttt songgggggg amazingggggggg i love this song. this is a pretty cool tape, too. from 1980 like woah

  • best song ever

  • difford, u ledgend!

  • this song is the reason my dad loves this band

  • Post Beatles, the best band the u.k has ever produced, both musically and lyrically.Legends!

  • my favorite band my favorite song. great guitar solo, in the first break!!! top it

  • my favorite song and best guitar solo ever from way back in the day... a band with musicianship, hunor and soul...fucking great

  • Great band, Greenwich's finest

  • for some reason the lead is a turn on?? im like 16, this is soooo wrong o__O

great song all the same, reminds me of my dad

    he loved them..

  • Pure excellence even after all this time a true classic

  • Great song!

  • i'd rather enjoy his musical talent with no regard to his personal life, as with most rock stars. They are all kooky, Mick,Paul,John, Keith, hendrix halen, sting, etc. etc.

  • What an utterly ridiculous comment.

  • loads of people do this, theres nothin wrong with it, mid flow is full of vitamins anyway..

  • errrr yucky! Come on Craggy, surely you dont guzzle your own wee wee! Theres a reason why its ejected from the body! lol

  • i dont, but my dr told me i should

its supposed to be good if your working out anyway.. and besides each to their own xD
