Sometimes these circumstances happen to people (like losing their job, addiction, mental illness, etc) even though they may have had wealth in the past or a good upbringing or a great education. I think that there are indications that something can exist without having what we would call a beginning. Of course, if God does exist, then what created God? If God could exists infinitely, couldn't it be just as likely that the universe by itself simply exists, and has always existed in one form or another?
@BoyBangla As science delves deeper and deeper into this subject it seems to me that we are able to explain more and more of exactly how the universe came to be and what came before it. I also think the cosmological argument is no longer entirely valid due to constant new developments which are slowly but surely filling in the gaps to create a clear picture of where everything came from.

When the Hype dies, I pray for the best for Ted and his family! Confronting your own failures is difficult and he is doing an amazing job. Ted keep trusting in God and he will see you through! you can tell how he has a good head over his shoulders, very eloquent for someone who has went to wasteland for some time he talks with more sense than a lot of the "normal" hollywood types.
First of all, I wish Ted the best luck in the world. I must admit, though, that I am a bit worried about him. He is a recovering addict - fame and money might reenergize the want or need for drugs and alcohol. If he is truly clean, he is going to need to put all his efforts to stay away from drugs.

Ads only take up about 2 or 3 minutes of our day and can help us find great songs or great products. It is truely AMAZING that this man has been given a second chance, to make things right in his life!! If you watch the many videos and interviews, it is very obvious that Ted Williams is such a humble, genuinly greatful man! The video from the CBS Early Show was great, until a certain comment at the end, telling Ted to be smart about this opportunity.....DISTASTEFUL, and completely un called for!!! @charvelgtrs I agree that religion is unnecessary, and in a lot of cases inhibits logical thought which results in irrational, stupid decisions. But if someone chooses to believe in a higher power, I have nothing against them just as long as they don't go telling me that I'm going to go to hell if I don't accept Jesus as my savior and read the bible and go to church. Their beliefs are their business, and my beliefs are my business, although I do enjoy religious debates.

On TV I've seen everyone from congressmen and women to football players credit god for accomplishments and miracles, and even pointless little things too. If anything, people are pressured to believe in a deity by having their religious parents tell them, during early childhood, that they should behave or else god will send them to a bad place. It's fucking sick, and I see it every day.

@BoyBangla And I don't have a problem with religion, I have a problem with people who try and convert others, especially their children at a young age where they can't think for themselves, to their religion. It's indoctrination, and it's wrong. They should be allowed to know the facts, such as how science provides a perfectly logical explanation for our existence without the need for a god, and that the bible and other religious texts are extremely contradictory and factually incorrect, etc.

However, I do believe that people fail to understand the concept of God because of reverse indoctrination via schools, media, government & corporations implied messages- & in essence Consumerism is the New God. There are many reasons for people believing in God, but for me, "The Kalam Cosmological Argument" is absolute proof that that God exists and in summary; Nothing can exist without it being created & many things are outside our control.

@BoyBangla I somewhat disagree. I think that there doesn't necessarily need to be a "beginning" for everything, in our sense of the word. I think that there are indications that something can exist without having what we would call a beginning. Of course, if God does exist, then what created God? If God could exists infinitely, couldn't it be just as likely that the universe by itself simply exists, and has always existed in one form or another?

@BoyBangla As science delves deeper and deeper into this subject it seems to me that we are able to explain more and more of exactly how the universe came to be and what came before it. I also think the cosmological argument is no longer entirely valid due to constant new developments which are slowly but surely filling in the gaps to create a clear picture of where everything came from.

This is one out of billions of stories, he simply got lucky. No “God” was involved. People pray on a daily basis and their crappy lives never change. People pray when stuck in a rut and end up dying in that rut. I’m happy for the guy and I hope things continue to work out for him. If believing in “God” keeps him on the straight and narrow then I’m all for it but this “God” he believes in doesn’t exist (IMO).

Having this trust and faith in the Lord does not give you worldly success like money and fame, but what it does give you is peace and rest. Ted is in a good place because he doesn't follow the Lord for what He does for him or gives him, but simply because God is God. Ted is a man of God and it sure does radiate off of him

When the Hype dies, I pray for the best for Ted and his family! Confronting your own failures is difficult and he is doing an amazing job. Ted keep trusting in God and he will see you through! This is nothing but God, doing something this amazing. Stay focused and dont get distracted. As the stress and hard times come, and they will; dig deeper in His word. First of all, I wish Ted the best luck in the world. I must admit, though, that I am a bit worried about him. He is a recovering addict - fame and money might reenergize the want or need for drugs and alcohol. If he is truly clean, he is going to need to put all his efforts to stay away from drugs.
I do believe in second chances. I hope he takes this new path in life and truly embrace all the positives from it. God bless you Ted, and we wish you well.
