well, when you think about it, their skin can look like ours but that doesn't make it the skin. they could have extra genes or whatnot that makes their skin tougher and more durable. besides, not all parts of the ocean are poluted. i'm sure they live deep down where they're pretty safe. just what i think. and i'm sure not all of them are pretty. just the whole part fish, part human makes them somthing more than ordinary, extraordinary. pretty by nature. in truth they would probably look ordinary

In some cultures they are considered evil, demonic almost, and to be avoided. In in Japan, it is believed if you find a mermaid and eat the flesh you will become either imortal or some sort of demonic being. It really just depends on the culture. Great video, it made me want cry remembering the stories my grandma would always tell me of sailors and meramids as a young child. I do, and most likely will always believe in them. Also, did you know merpeople are in more than half of our world's mythology, and even in a few religioons! And yes, I'm a guy.
