  • The NWOBHM Bands that never really made it , didn't because they were basically shite!!!

  • I'm sorry if I offend any fans by saying this... But they have completely RUINED this song.

  • @misterkurdt You are wrong. They gave the song some spunk and balls and turned it into something 5000 times better than the original. They gave it the erection it deserved.

  • @whitbyjet65 Hey, don't get mad 'cause my opinion is fact. You don't know what real music is, you ignorant cunt. Much love.

  • @misterkurdt Thanks for that darling.

  • baby girl your mom drives me crazy sory for all the pain LOVE

  • baby girl your mom drove me crazy sorry for all things this song will never end

  • great band, sykes is a monster player, i love his lead here, so aggressive, sykes is one of the best players of all time

  • haha, james REALLY took this version. But i'm glad that at least he knew topt

  • Real nice bunch of guys know them well

  • Yes, Durbin is familiar with this version :)

  • will james durbin do this version?american idol would get rocked out man vote for james

  • cool cover, almost. If Bullock had covered this, it would be cooler.

  • One of the best cover songs ever! It takes the original and puts it through an incinerator.

  • so this was 1982? this tune always reminds me of the sandra bullock "love potion number nine" movie, which i think was her first leading role. i just looked it up, 1992.

    john sykes smokin the git.

  • Cannot stop lauging @ 1:44...classic song..used to watch it all the time on the Pepsi Power Hour on Much Music...

  • sounds like the singer of Tangier

  • Jon Deverill has an amazing metal voice,.. i remember him in persian Risk before he joined the Tygers,.. Risk had a great single called Ridin High which is well worth trying to find.

  • I agree. One of the best voices in rock.

  • I love Iron Maiden and decided to listen to some other NWOBHM bands since I had listened to so few. I heard of the band so I figured I'd listen to a track and they fucking rock!!!

  • thats what happened to me as well, I liked Iron Maiden and decided to listen to some other NWOBHM bands and I love all the other bands of that era. theres certainly no other sound like the NWOBHM.

    long live NWOBHM

  • Saw them The Cage tour at Hammersmith Odeon, great band just like Diamond Head were, underated, both of them then.

  • @MrChrisnolan yeah those guys and Tank

  • These guys got screwed by their record company. If their record label didn't think they could produce hits on their own. They should have hired a producer who could get it done, instead of asking them to cover another song after this cover was successful and ultimately alienating the band. These guys aren't Quiet Riot whose only hits were covers. The talent was there to keep this band going throughout the 80's.

  • Wow!!!! amazing upload, if u dont know this song belong to DIO and the red carpets, from 1974!!! this is a tribute for the most important frontman and influence guide to many vocalist. DIO.

  • Comment removed

  • @faustoj26a hehejhehje you are wrong dude, it was recorded by dio after the redcaps (not carpets) in 64 by ronnie dio and the prophets, and its a cover! the original song is from 59 from the CLOVERS... (they didn't writte it!)

  • Great vocalist - John Deveril from Persian Risk. You can see where Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) got his inspiration from.

  • the song was recordedby a doo wop group called the clovers back in 1959

  • I have an album called "The Cage" by Tygers Of Pan Tang which has this song on

  • I playedthis to death when I was fourteen. Still love it. Great stuff!

  • now im 15 and i play it to death ;p

  • @davyaelmans dude, same here, im not even in to the new metal bands that much

  • the power of the NWOBHM. It's a very energetic song.

  • good song but the story so far is better original tune of theirs would like to see a video of that one!!!!

  • Charles Follen McKim Maloney was the man who chemically engineered the original 'Love Potion Number 9'. It proved to be so potent a potion that in the wrong hands it could prove dangerous. The doctor eventually destroyed the formula and all existing stocks of the potion. Brad Pitt once boasted of having some love potion no 9, on investigation it was discovered that he actually had love potion no 8. Of which Maloney said "it is useless and brought me out in a rash, it does attract flies though"!

  • This is an interesting version of this classic song! It has been written that Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney's Love Potion number 9 was almost used by North Korean communists for nefarious purposes, however, the great doctor destroyed his supply and his formula before they could get hold of it.

  • Well that's cheered me up for today thankyou!
