I love your art work! what name brand paint do you use? I am a beginner so im using some generic paint but it seems a lot thicker then the one you use, does the thickness of the paint make a difference? thanks!
@greenT0910 I recommend trying out a few different brands before choosing. More expensive brands aren't always the best to work with. I often use Golden paints. They have a range of fluid acrylics if you prefer to use thinner paints as I do. You can also just thin the paints with water.
May I ask how you blend your skies so well Shaun? Do you put down a layer of wet white paint then paint color onto that and blend it? Or is there some product you mix with the paint?
@AutomHatter Hi, yes it is all about using enough paint, working quickly and keeping the whole surface wet. Make sure your brushes are damp to start with and if you find that the surface is drying too quickly to blend you can try brushing the canvas with water before painting. If you do that you should have enough time to blend it really well. Check my other listings, I have a short video with some simple tips on painting a sky. Thanks.
thank you for posting this amazing video, it inspired me to paint more and more, i turned my dining room into a sewing room, but my passion is art, so now it's an art studio, got my easel, and everything set up to paint--so convenient--but i have to be inspired or my work does not look good, does that happen to you?
@nachis3 Thanks for the comment. I started painting in my kitchen. Yes you're right. It's hard to make something look good without inspiration and the motivation to keep painting until it is the way you want it. Luckily that inspiration can come from many places. Even browsing through images on google is a great way to spark a new idea.
