  • can you imagine the record company terminated their contract with siouxie in 96... they were insane there is no other reason to terminate a record deal with siouxie... dosetn make any sense

  • when i was8 6 i was in private school, i saw some film crews changing the names of the streets with french names and near the coretto theere was the drum set and then guitar mics etc, i discovered later that siouxie filmed there the there no room for 2 of us in this town clip... it must have happen when i was in class cause i didnt sas here or the band but it was there

  • 3 people can't find their brain! Thx LoveUGodBless, T and J KABBALAH MATTHEWSHEPARD MADONNALICIOUS

  • I love Siouxsie's haircut during this time. It's so hot and 1920s looking, she needs to cut it like this again!

  • Great song, and great video....

  • Beautiful song. I still have the extended version of this on vinyl!

  • Not a bad Siouxsie song. I like her feathered headress/boas period!

  • I Love Siouxsie Sioux

  • One of my favorite S&tB songs, especially in its full version, a pure wonder ! Thanks scythrop for posting this vid !!

  • Seeing her amazing outfits is what made me become semi-androgynous. They're so creative and beautiful! ^^

  • PURE POP

  • Great song, but surprisingly I prefer the JVC version off the re-re-re-release of Tinderbox. Thanks for the add of the rare vid though!

  • some of my favorite siouxsie lyrics here...

  • Why didn't Siouxsie like this song? I heard about it, but I'm suprised because, as for me, it's one of the best SATB songs!

  • @7OLGA7 In the "authorised biography" of the band (which I highly recommend), Severin suggests that Siouxsie doesn't like the song because of the person who produced it and the experiences surrounding its production. I think it's pretty great, myself!

  • @scythrop Thank you. And do you know any documentary films about SATB?

  • @scythrop I think a lot of bands have this same story. A super difficult producer really makes the band go nuts and hate the output from that time. Except all that pain makes a REALLY great song. Just ask Andy Partridge (XTC) about how he feels about Todd Rundgren. And yet, Skylarking IS XTC, at least to me.

A difficult birth does should not mean that you hate the child!

  • @scythrop

Apparently they detested Mike Thorne so much that they didn't want to include his production on the compilation. In the biography, he's the only one who gets more shit from Siouxsie than Robert Smith :-)

  • apparently the record company told SATB that they were 'bloddy depressing' so in siouxie style they went for a completely ott performance!!!

  • Beautiful! Lady f*cking gagag eat your heart out. Siouxsie was brilliance. A staple in my youth and I still love her to this day.

  • This song transports me back directly to my teenage years in the middle of the 80's.

We were fearless and romantic punks. Thank you for the post.

  • I have the JVC mix on my page if you want to hear it, I cant really tell much difference to be honest, but the sweetest chill version is very different.......

ive put tracks up from the remasters 2009 up for the fans to share enjoy.

  • ...I have to say this is my favorite Siouxie song ever...glad it's on youtube

  • yes. too bad its not on any of the cd/video comps.

  • JVC was the best guitarist in the Banshees since John McGeoch. The band did indeed go downhill after he left. Sad days. Tinderbox was their pinnacle.

  • Siouxsie is so awesome! Even today this single stands the test of time! She has always been before her time.

  • I completely forgot about this single! The entire single is awesome. I have this import! Really is one of her most beauriful songs!

  • she shot her foot on this one ... this is one of her most beautiful songs ... it could have been huge. it is huge for me.

  • It is my favorite banshee song...it makes me sad, but happy and I just love to hear it...it is like being in heaven for me...seeing them do it live was incredible...by far my favorite..then coal mind..

  • Totally agree.

  • The most beautiful Siouxsie and The Banshees song ever

  • I actually have the video for this song. Muchmusic in Toronto played it one time and I taped it. Great song from the best band of the 80-89 era.

  • Apparantly, Souxise hates the producer on this one track so much she refuses to release the original version now The orginal version is, so far, on vinyl only. If you have a vinyl copy, and a good sound card with RCA/phono inputs, there are programs that can rip it just google "Ripping vinyl to mp3"

  • Does anyone know where I can download this version or whatever? I don't care for the one on "The Best of" as much as I do this.

  • Your only hope is if you find someone who ripped it off a vinyl record. I have the vinyl myself, but I dunno how to digitize it. bleh

  • I know this is an old thread, so you may have found it already, but I just want to let you know that I digitized all of my 'unavailable-on-CD' vinyl. This version of this song was amongst them. I cleaned up the sound with a sound editing software, too. If you would like me to email you an MP3 of it, send me a private email with your direct address, and I'll do so.

  • @MoonchildDog Does your offer still stand?

  • Yes, my offer still stands. Send me a private message with your email address and I'll send it to you.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I actually thought I was dreaming about a Siouxsie song that didn't exist. I searched everywhere and I couldn't get the title right until I tried my luck here. The only thing I remembered was the chorus and that was what I used.

  • What an amazing song. Now where the heck can I find it?

  • Not sure if this was on any of the studio albums.

  • it's on no lp i use to have the 12' maxi single

u should find it on -line somwhere

  • Thanks :)

  • I just love this song. Thanks for posting...it has been more than a decade since the last time I've heard this song.

  • Love this music and video.

  • Superb Siouxsie!!!

  • Hi Scythrop!THAAANK you!!I did cry when I saw the video! Was looking for this song now for almost 20 years!Just had the melody and the colors on my mind and couldn't remember the lyrics nor the name.Superb Siouxie!

  • Beautiful Siouxsie.

  • I'm not too fond over the excessive visual layering they did in the videos from the tinderbox/through the looking glass era.

    Some excellent friggin' songs though.

  • amazing bass+guitar+keyb work. Not to mention Budgie...

  • thanks for post the video..that performace is somethng new for me!!XXJ

  • OMFG!! I havent heard this for years... thanx so much for posting this.

  • Thank you 4 posting this song scythrop. It is one my favorites and the lyrics are beautiful!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video scythrop. This is one of my favorites Siouxsie songs and I have just received the lyrics...beautiful!!!

  • Beautiful... I've never seen this before. I've heard most of their albums but this is definitely one of the best songs I have heard in their catalogue! It would have been perfect as the second to last song on Tinderbox.

  • It has been released as a single in 1987 ;-)

  • It is so cool! I love this song. What's Banshees doing these days?

  • they split up 11 years ago!

  • Siouxsie is expected to realease a solo album this year ;-)

  • OMFG!! I havent seen this... thx sooo much for posting this !!!

  • She should teach a course on how to be a drag queen...love it!

  • Siouxsie and her friends always shot themselves in the foot. I think this is one of their best songs, but in their biography they apparently hated the person they recorded this with so it never got quite the showing it deserved...

I guess that is fun because I am sort of rediscovering it now...

  • It wasn't a big success, but I like it!

  • Too zuper for words!

  • I never even knew this song existed. Love it! Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for putting this up here! I haven't heard this songs in atleast 10 years...

  • ! ! ! BEAUTIFUL ! ! !

  • does anyone know where to get a download of siouxsie performing wheels on fire on TOTP? I only remmeber it faintly with a gold glittering cat suit and lots of hair.. would love to get hold of it as it was one of those youth carving images... rupeerupes@aol.com

  • After nineteen years, I finally get to see this video. Amazing!

  • its right queer.. ive loved this song for so long and have also never seen the video until now. The picture is almost complete....

  • I never knew a video for this song existed! Thanks!

  • First time i hear this song. I though i new all the songs of the band (except some b sides). Thank you !

  • this song was a non-album single release in between the tinderbox and peepshow. its release was late '87, can't remember exactly the month
