yeah man icant belive those fish r still alive but chichlidz r pretty tuff but still ur just promoting animal abuse n teaching kidz how 2 waste 10 of their hard earned dollars
Im going to be getting a 71 gallon soon enough and this video has inspired me to make the interior exactly the same. My Malawi cichlids will cream over it.
how do you keep your rocks white? My texas holey have all got a reddish brown coating on them in a few weeks. I use a UV sterizer, could it be the food??
^_^ i usually use the waterfalls water, it is cold and clear and free!! hahaha but adding in the corals stones will not only beautifies the aquarium, but also neutralize al the toxin too, cool ideas mate
Very nice tank with great fish but.. hopefully those 10 snails don't go on a breeding frenzy... they'll just cover your tank in baby snails. It's crazy how they reproduce so quick. Nice tank nonetheless!
Ok, to all you people ranting about him adding fish the same day he set it up I have a few words for you. 1) I do the same thing and have never had a fish die. 2) I have never tested my nitrates or the ph level on ANY tank I have ever owned. I've had lots of different fish and they're still living, from discus to african cichlids to freshwater angel fish and many MANY different tetras. The only fish i have ever had die was a pleco because I have an oscar that didn't like him one bit.
WOW you really don't know how to set up a proper fish tank. You know that you need to have the tank setup for at least a week until you add any fish to your tank.
Hmm, as far as i know, none of serious aquarists would let the fishes in brand new tank at the same day when it's been started. unless you used the "live" water from another well working matured tank
ive done this at least 100 times on new tank setups and havent lost a fish yet. and id say im "serious" since i have about 600gals runnin at my house, not to mention i take care of tanks all over town.
Well what I think the gentleman thekef69 meant that you have a better fish succes rate cause I have set up fish tanks and never tested for nitrates or anything like that and I can get GH statistics on the web for my local area and as far as ph go after doing this for so long I no when the water need to be changed. Cause I have an insightful eye and can recognize when things are to acidic. Good job on your 75 gallon tank.
@cichlids4ever So you're saying you're a pro at really stressing out fish then? Seriously you're lucky none have died. The water column takes time for enough bacteria to be established to handle the bio-load of the tank especially when you like to crowd and introduce all at once. Theres no way a new tank can handle that from the get go. Do you dose chemicals or something? Thats the only thing that comes to mind that might keep the fish from dying.
Hi i work for a tropical fish wholesalers and have worked with many types of fish over the years but i think my love will always be for the Malawi cichlid due to the many different species you can get at a great price Oh yes your tanks not bad
u was just asking the same thing he was. what is this jump start stuff your talking about? got a new 75G(now water yet) with a fully cycled 30G and how does the jump start work?
lol im sure the trash talkers of youtube are gonna eat me alive for this one but ive done this at least 100 times with no issues at all so here it goes................... when i set up a new tank i use jungle start-right to condition the water, but i also add about 5% of the water from an existing, cycled tank with good water paramaters. this way you already have a lil bit of the positive bacteria ya need
...as far as the "3 week cycle" thing i have honestly NEVER in my life done that, and have kept fish for over 15 years. but this is just the way I do things, im not saying this is like "the way" or better then the others. all im saying is this is what i do and it seems to work
well you would think it would work for when you do large water changes on existing tanks that when you add this water, it has only been sitting in a bucket with water chlorinator for 15 minutes!
nice tank looks sweet but i gotta say man , u dont know what your doing.
have you ever even heard of a nitrogen cycle i find it hard to believe youve done this 100 times and not lost a fish.. bullshit
looks sweet though but unreal add everyting same day hahah its funny
LACocaNostra666 2 weeks ago
you should never add the water the fish came in to your tank.
