  • nice tank looks sweet but i gotta say man , u dont know what your doing.

have you ever even heard of a nitrogen cycle i find it hard to believe youve done this 100 times and not lost a fish.. bullshit

looks sweet though but unreal add everyting same day hahah its funny

  • you should never add the water the fish came in to your tank.

  • You monster

  • you put the fish in the same day!!?

  • bad things happen fast, and that was pretty fast. new fish the first day. thats torture to the fish

  • yeah man icant belive those fish r still alive but chichlidz r pretty tuff but still ur just promoting animal abuse n teaching kidz how 2 waste 10 of their hard earned dollars

  • holy shit that tank went from empty to setup and stocked in well under a minute hancock aint got shit on you!

  • why oh why do these videos get spoilt with such loud music? please check my video for some nice soft music.

  • you just flopped fish in there without cycling??

  • Beutiful tank broheim.

Im going to be getting a 71 gallon soon enough and this video has inspired me to make the interior exactly the same. My Malawi cichlids will cream over it.

  • how do you keep your rocks white? My texas holey have all got a reddish brown coating on them in a few weeks. I use a UV sterizer, could it be the food??

  • the sand is like tanganyika haha i like it :D

  • ^_^ i usually use the waterfalls water, it is cold and clear and free!! hahaha but adding in the corals stones will not only beautifies the aquarium, but also neutralize al the toxin too, cool ideas mate

  • Very nice tank with great fish but.. hopefully those 10 snails don't go on a breeding frenzy... they'll just cover your tank in baby snails. It's crazy how they reproduce so quick. Nice tank nonetheless!

  • its called a bioficial starter.. its a liquid u pour in and it starts the beneficial bacteria start up the same day u set it up

  • Ok, to all you people ranting about him adding fish the same day he set it up I have a few words for you. 1) I do the same thing and have never had a fish die. 2) I have never tested my nitrates or the ph level on ANY tank I have ever owned. I've had lots of different fish and they're still living, from discus to african cichlids to freshwater angel fish and many MANY different tetras. The only fish i have ever had die was a pleco because I have an oscar that didn't like him one bit.

  • @JGS187 Consider yourself one lucky sob. The other 99% of us can't get away with doing that.

  • WOW you really don't know how to set up a proper fish tank. You know that you need to have the tank setup for at least a week until you add any fish to your tank.

  • it was probably all ready cycled water

  • @bobiana289 and from that comment you also have no idea

  • how much did you pay for all thexas holey im trying to get quotes for my 65

  • i drove to texas and collected 1200lbs myself...sold the rest

  • @cichlids4ever if i got a 55 gallon tank what cichlids could i put in and how many?

  • @aquamaniacZ i got 27 fish in mine and 7 babies in a small tank but with the 27 i change the water once a week and got to internal filters

  • @cichlids4ever lol.. lucky u!!! i want sum!!!

  • Hmm, as far as i know, none of serious aquarists would let the fishes in brand new tank at the same day when it's been started. unless you used the "live" water from another well working matured tank

  • ive done this at least 100 times on new tank setups and havent lost a fish yet. and id say im "serious" since i have about 600gals runnin at my house, not to mention i take care of tanks all over town.

  • Well what I think the gentleman thekef69 meant that you have a better fish succes rate cause I have set up fish tanks and never tested for nitrates or anything like that and I can get GH statistics on the web for my local area and as far as ph go after doing this for so long I no when the water need to be changed. Cause I have an insightful eye and can recognize when things are to acidic. Good job on your 75 gallon tank.

  • @cichlids4ever So you're saying you're a pro at really stressing out fish then? Seriously you're lucky none have died. The water column takes time for enough bacteria to be established to handle the bio-load of the tank especially when you like to crowd and introduce all at once. Theres no way a new tank can handle that from the get go. Do you dose chemicals or something? Thats the only thing that comes to mind that might keep the fish from dying.

  • you are great....beautifull setup

  • Hi i work for a tropical fish wholesalers and have worked with many types of fish over the years but i think my love will always be for the Malawi cichlid due to the many different species you can get at a great price Oh yes your tanks not bad

  • whats the best lighting for the malawis?,ive got moonlight tube in mine but still bit unsure wether thats best for my fish

  • cichlid fan ehh? I am also one too ;) I like south american ones like the jack dampsey and the green severum and oscar

  • i love them all, SA CA and A. green terror, firemouths, german blue ram, and and assorted mbunas.

    long live the cichlid.

  • Nice tank.. kewl video too. Do you have any video on how to DIY moonlight? Would love to see that. Thanks.

  • sure do....check out my main page :)

  • those rock are nice were do you collect rocks like that

  • dude did you even cycle this tank are just add water then just throw some fish in??

  • just added em about 20 mins later....ive NEVER done the whole 3 week cycle crap lol. i been doin it like this for years with no problems

  • thats what im saying, cycling=WASTE OF TIME. i have been tending to aquariums for over 10 years and not once have i had a fish die or a tank go bad!

  • But do you use an established filter or do you just slowly add more fish?

  • new filter, new water, and i add all the fish that are goin in it at once.......been doin it for 15+years like that lol

  • what about your pH level? do you worry about the hardness of the water?

  • we have high 8's here straight out the tap "D

  • ha thanks 111Thelimit

  • i get my sand at lowes its 50lbs for $4 (quickcrete commercial grade all purpose sand)

  • where do you get the sand in your tank from :)

  • I use play sand for my malawi and discus give it a good rinse just to prevent it clouding. Its safe and much cheaper

  • is that upstairs? ive just set my 72 gallon tank up and was so worried it would go through the floor lol

  • what was the name of the stuff that makes water istanly ready?

  • i use JUNGLE start-right, its in a yellow bottle with blue label

  • so its better than just normall strees coat

  • There is also what they call Bio Spira.

  • what does DIY stand for anyway?

  • do it yourself

  • do it youreself.....a.k.a. homemade lol

  • oh lol...

    i feel stupid

  • do it yourselfduhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • where do you get the honeycomb limestone :O

  • i actually drove 8hrs to texas and collected it my self, i sold most of what i had and this is the leftovers

  • ballin!

  • do the snails get along with the cichlids?

  • for the most part the mbuna dont seem to mess with em, but every once in a while they do kill one.

  • cycled?

  • really?

  • ????

  • u was just asking the same thing he was. what is this jump start stuff your talking about? got a new 75G(now water yet) with a fully cycled 30G and how does the jump start work?

  • lol im sure the trash talkers of youtube are gonna eat me alive for this one but ive done this at least 100 times with no issues at all so here it goes................... when i set up a new tank i use jungle start-right to condition the water, but i also add about 5% of the water from an existing, cycled tank with good water paramaters. this way you already have a lil bit of the positive bacteria ya need

  • ...as far as the "3 week cycle" thing i have honestly NEVER in my life done that, and have kept fish for over 15 years. but this is just the way I do things, im not saying this is like "the way" or better then the others. all im saying is this is what i do and it seems to work

  • well you would think it would work for when you do large water changes on existing tanks that when you add this water, it has only been sitting in a bucket with water chlorinator for 15 minutes!

  • would a different type of water conditioner work the same way or have the same effects?

  • im sure they will as long as their an instant chemical

  • jump start cycle, used 10 gals from another tank. works every time lol
