He dyed his hair because his mother told him to run and hide from the dmeons and to abandon his name until he was strong enough to fight back, and the white hair is a pretty obvious giveaway that he's the son of sparda. His sword is still Rebellion, and rebellion is the physical manifestation of Dante's power, it grows as Dante does and right now they are both very young

Most of the population isn't too smart, compare that with being an adolescent and it's hell. Most kids human or in Dantes case half human are always trying to find some way to make themselves different. I think this is a great way to show Dante's human side from when he was younger, well besides eating pizza and strawberry sundaes. ;)

If you recall in DMC1 when he defeats Nelo Angelo you can listen voices of kids and a woman, that was a memory of his childhood, he had a life, a human life. Sparda was an abscent father, imagine your mother telling stories about your demon father all the time. The whole franchise is about Dante and his family issues. Aside from the demon killing, I see him as a normal teenager.
