Its hard to compare kobe just yet, his true evaluation can begin when he retires like those players before him. To say he is overrated though is a mistake because as arrogant as he can be - he has always backed himself up with results. He's won rings, broke records, made clutch performances,moved up on all time scoring list..etc and also been highly influential with the one franchise he stayed with all these years. Its a big call to put him in that top 5 atm, but hes up there without a doubt.

We should rename the NBA the BTJ (Better than Jordan), so when we get past Kobe, Lebron and Dwayne, we can use it for Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose! Whilst some of these guys are impressive no doubt, there was never a time when MJ appeared on court and failed to produce something to make your jaw drop! As for GOAT's let's always give it up for Julius, Magic, Larry, Kareem, Russell, Chamberlain and the effective sideshows of Pippen, Stockton, Robinson, Ewing and Malone!

Its hard to compare kobe just yet, his true evaluation can begin when he retires like those players before him. To say he is overrated though is a mistake because as arrogant as he can be - he has always backed himself up with results. He's won rings, broke records, made clutch performances,moved up on all time scoring list..etc and also been highly influential with the one franchise he stayed with all these years. Its a big call to put him in that top 5 atm, but hes up there without a doubt.

Kobe was a sidekick of Shaq during his first 3 rings. When Shaq left Kobe was given a team of Odom, Butler, Bynum and so on to prove it and yet Kobe failed. Notice meanwhile TD took a less talented squad of Park and Ginobili to two championships while Kobe was on the sideline watching and fishing. It was until Lakers dumbed it down by adding Gasol and Artest that Kobe finally rode them to rings. How pathetic. Only on April 1st could you put Kobe in the same sentence with Bird and Magic.
