Nice drawing and it's pretty good but I didn't see much cell shading here, mostly soft shading.

@batusawa no i didnt.. i think i only used pen tool and then blur it using blur tool.. air brush is a nice tool btw.

my settings for pen tool (used in the video): min size 0% density (up to u) quality 4, hardness 0 , min dens 0, max 100%, hard - soft 174 pressure check, size check.

i rarely use pen tool now , so here is my air brush sets: quality 1 (up to u actually) , hardness 0 , min dens 0, max dens 100%, hard - soft 100 pressure check, size check.

How do you use layers here? Every time I use a layer, it only shows the layer that is placed at the top, and I noticed that your opacity for all layers is 100% as well. Are your layers copies of the RAW image?

@dabazz117 huh?? just paint on it? ofc it shows that its placed at the top, you can drag it down depending on your artwork, and opacity i used 100% because i only played with density of the brush, didnt really needed to lower layer opacity.. D: actually i don't really know how to answer your question.. and no, of course it's not copies of the raw image, it's like started from 0% how can i copy the raw image..

@noirioko Lol sorry, I don't understand myself either. Anyway I found out my answer. It is something to do with changing of the layer settings to "Multiply". I was asking about why my brushes paint OVER the lineart

@dabazz117 If ur lineart is a .psd or .sai file, place your colored layers under the lineart layer. But if the lineart ur gonna use is a jpeg file, you have to set the layer to multiply, and color layers still under it. I hope I answered ur question >.<

Most of the artist I know who use Sai Always finish it up In Photoshop. Sai Does not have a mac Version. Any way its all about what we know. I know Photoshop very well so I can do a lot of things faster then others. I do wonder how one would use a flats layer in Sai.

but SAI is more user friendly and better in color blending
