No dislikes? That'll be right! It is impossible to dislike anything by the inimitable Tom Scott - he is extremely masterful in all he does. Saw him perform LIVE in the 90s with Courtney Pine. Beyond breathtaking.
I remember the 1st time I ever heard Tom Scott. A friend and I were on the 10 riding in to LA at night....and happened to have found this in the car - popped in the tape and ...whew ... great travelin' music.
This is good, but not the original. This is Tom's remake of a song he recorded in 1976 on his "Intimate Strangers" LP. As he explains on that release, the horn soli in the middle is based on a Chuck
Findley trumpet solo that Tom like and transcribed. The original is a more laid-back and bluesier. I saw him do this live once and he played alto instead of tenor, for yet another variation.
How many tenors do play here at the same time? Madness!
