cuz thats his job as a leader and a play maker to present himself as a threat to the other team so he can draw the defense to himself and make his teammates better. He has been average 6-7 assists in the last few games so i dunno wth ur talkin about rampant245. The lakers are low on options now anyway with artest out and gasol out, so obviously if they're down kobe has to take more shots.
