  • Żeby moje się tak dawały, ale nie Pańcia nie może ich pogłaskać, bo zaraz płaski i po ziemi się robi. -.- :D Ale super Kosza. :D

  • Hi my degus are new to the house but whenever i come into the room they scatter with their mother how am i supposed to clean the shelter if they are hiding please pm me!

  • I am starting volunteering at an animal shelter on Friday and they have some Degus there, this was really helpful - thanks so much! That Degu is a little sweetie :)

  • @shesaid degus in animal shelter? aww, I would never think, a degu can end up there :/

  • i just got 2 small degu boys and is there something i should really think off can someone plz help :)

  • Apparently the none biting thing runs in the family. Chinchillas nip but won't bite, and the nipping is about like someone pushing you away and saying "hey cut that out" and guinea pigs almost never bite or nip, so apparently since they're in a similar family of rodents degu's share this trait. They say that wild ones do tend to bite, but they are easily tamed because they're so intelligent(i was amazed to find out that degus are extremely intelligent.)

  • oooo, i have mine 2 sister degus since they were little and they can´t stand at one place. they really like to play but i can´t really pet them like you, because they always just want to climb on me :(.

  • degus kind of remind me of large gerbils. I used to have gerbils, loved them.

  • he looks like a small chinchilla.

  • cute.

  • awwww

  • awwww

  • Degus own rats.

  • My Degu Bites, And He's Crazy.

He Can't Be Tamed, I Have Tried Everything.

    :\

  • =) Nice

  • @Herbertgreen yeah they will do anything and they love to adventure around in a closed room so don't worrie that theywill run off. :)

  • mY DEGU DIED ON THE WAY WHEN WE WERE MOVING..AND HE LOVED BEING PET LIKE THAT.. AND NOW HES GONE. WE THINK HE HAD A HEART ATTACK..:((

  • Are Degus legal in Utah?

  • I only have one degu, he is 1 week old but don't juge him for him size, his bite is nasty, lol

  • iv been trying to tame my two male degus for some time now using your techniques, i adopted them from a shelter 4 months ago and i think there fully grown but they just run away from me! please help.

  • arent Degus just big Gerbils

  • Degus are awesome

  • nice pets:) Can you have them on your shoulder?

  • just got two, only 6 months old, one tries to nibble us, scarey, think it will take out a chunk ! Can't rub them, they just leg-it ! Hopefully will come with time

  • i have 2 degus but i am afraid to take them in my hand because it hurts, i think, and i dont want them to bite me. what can i do to not be afraid anymore?

  • i was going to get degus but i got gerbils

  • They look so well handled - Good Job!!!

  • such cute degus x) i have gven up on hamstesr now since number four died unexspectedly after 2 weeks :( and am hoping i will be allowed some degus for my birthday :)

  • @queenofthenight550 then maybe pets arent your thing. not trying to be mean

  • wow your Degus are so sweet : )

thX for the video, good one.

  • do you need to buy 2 or more degus or are theyhappy on their own if u give them lots of attention

  • They absolutly need to be together. Humans simply cannot replace what one degu means to another degu.

If you have a pair or small group of degus, you will see why it is so important for them to be together and you will have a hard time imagining them on their own.

So, yes you need to get atleast 2 degus.

I will pm you shortly about the details...

  • @NightwishRaven999 tnks man , i really wnt to kno the details before i get em

  • lol almost never bite lol :)

  • Degus will sometimes only bite when they are very young or when they are very stressed out. In truth adult degus never bite unless something is terribly wrong.

  • @NightwishRaven999

For some reason the one degu in my male pairing I had used to love chewing on my nails. Nothing else just the nails, whenever he saw they had grown he would start chewing it off immediately. They also bit my foot but that was to steal my socks, to use as bedding. Did other owners experience degus who had an affinity for clothes stealing? I'm pretty sure my degus just were rebels, they were tame around me and ate from my hand but they did not like being held. Cleaning was hard

  • lol its like its hipnotized when u rub it like my cat infact i never hheard of a degus until i saw your video

  • what is the name of this song

  • When I try to cuddle my degus, it just looks for food, and if there is no food, he squeaks and runs away fast. I've tryed your tips about handfeeding them, but they wont stay calm. They are two boys, and they tend to mate, each time I see them do it, I say "No!" to them. Is this something degues do?

I would've appreciate if you could answer theese questions so my pets altso can be as tame as yours. PS: I got them when they were a little smaller in size than yours, is that why they arent tame?

  • If they are two boys, they are not maiting dont worry ; )

It is normal for degus to try to go on each other. Often for two reasons...one of the degus is trying to stay dominant in the group or pair or they simply want to sleep.

You are no doubt aware that degus often sleep on top of each other. In case of domination this is normal behavior.

The one trying to go the other, is trying to say that he is the alpha degu....if something else happens, then you obviously have a male and female...

  • I will send you a pm to answer your taming questions more in detail : )

  • hey.. you said that you would try to find out something that i can do so my pets can get tamer? please do.

  • @Smevv - What's wrong with them humping each other?

  • @Pommit They both are guys.

  • @Smevv - Erm...I know. What's the issue? They aren't going to have babies. I'd be more concerned about that. Or do you have a problem with homosexual or homosexual-seeming behaviour in pets?

  • @Smevv

You have two pansy, fag degues, LOL

Sorry, had to make that coment :)

  • @Hrcoprco They dont do it anymore, and I also figured that they most probably just cuddled, as they usually do.

  • can i ask

    with degus

do u have to buy them all at the same time?

    or not?

  • Nope, this is just a myth. In the past, people used to think they would only get along if you got them all at once...but now we know better. When you first buy degus, of course you want to get more than one, since degus should never be alone. But after that, you can continue to enlarge your group, as long as you have room and enough money to keep these little monsters ; )

I did not get my degus at the same time.

And might even get another pair in the next few months.

  • ok thanks for that :D

  • i dont know much about degus so are they big and they look like miniture chinchillas

  • I will send you a pm about degus, their behavior, size, diet and etc.

You can expect it tomorrow : )

  • adorable!

  • whats the name of the song to this vid

    p.s degus rock :D

  • Hello,

Do degus poo smell? will they stink the place out?..

  • No, they will not stink up the place.

Watch my video "Degu Issues Q/A"

You can find better answers to this question.

  • great vid 5*

  • OMG their soooooo cute!!

  • Love it ! Well done Jordan!

  • Nice vid :D everytime i see them i want to cuddle them, they look so furry :P
