Thanks for posting this video - I'm planning on picking up one of these and it'll be the first model kit other than some Warhammer 40k stuff. I may get one of the Revell starter kits though.
You're Canadian, it's to be expected that you pronounce decals that way. I think there's a law in the UIS that certain words have to be pronounced a certain way to distinguish us from the other English speaking people who have pictures of the Queen on their wall. LOL! I rather like saying deecals, it just sounds American.

Why did you clear coat it? Most military aircraft have a semigloss to flat finish on their paint...

yes those oil paints are very nice.. Used that to panel line my gundam kits.. Havent used it in awhile myself..
