But come to canada in the 2014, and import one, then drive it the US but insure and register it in canada, thats easy, because in Canada we make it easy to import cars as long as they are older then 15 years but in the US its the same how ever it must be 25 years old

first steps illed take would be

1. make sure the car your looking at buying meets your countries emission laws and can be imported into your country

What does vehicle (FOB) mean and import Duty and GST (15% x FOB) mean? mainly the (FOB) bit mean?

I understand that the blue slip could cost is variable, but anyidea how it could cost $3500?

@mydogzty FOB means Free On Board - the seller pays for getting the product to the shipping, you on the otherhand pay for the shipping and the delivery to you. there is also CIF wich means Cost, Insurance and Freight. there the seller pays for the delivery to the ship, the shipping, but you pay for the shipping from the ship to your house.

in my country (Northern Ireland) you can get a silvia s14 for £1900 which is around $2,900AU and you can get a nissan silvia s14.5 (S14 with S15 front end) for £3300 (around 5000AUD)

Unfortunatley for me (a teenager) to insure a silvia s15, it will be around £17000 per year. yes that is 17 and three zeros (around 25000AUD)

I will buy one of these imports one day, but untill then it will be a £500 vauxhall corsa B 1.0 which will cost £1300 per year to insure.

the second car I ever owned was a 93 Nissan 240sx SE. It had the 2.4L Inline 4 introduced to the North American market. Nothing like the SRDET20 im sure but noneless it is my all time favorite car. I hope to get a S15 in the coming future.
