I didn't know you were so spiritual, for some reason I always pictured you as an Atheist...
I, personally, am an Atheist (for many reasons), I do not believe in a God or a Satan, a Heaven or a Hell - I honestly believe that we're born, we live, and we die. I don't believe in any form of 'Afterlife" for that matter either.
I often ask and have excellent debates on religion with friends, I may not be at all religious, but I find religion fascinating, learning why believe what they believe :)
If the biblical God was a physical entity, wouldn't it be a asexual/unisexual? I mean, it's a singular being. It has no sexual counterpart, so it can't be male or female.
As for my own personal opinion, God does not exist. Gods do not exist. But, just my opinion. In terms of the philosophical conundrum that the deity concept applies to how people relate to the universe? I just can't comprehend something that large and encompassing without it actually existing. It's annoying to try.

Sorry, I couldn't fit all I had to say in 500 characters. I'll start where I left off. I personally believe in the Christian God. Part of that is believing there is only one way to God. I'm still open minded, though. If there is a thinking, personal God, then sholdn't there be only one way to Him? Different religions contradict each other. The fact that everything exists as complex as it does points to a thinking God. A force cannot think. If you have an answer to this whole in your theory, I would love to hear it. personally, i believe that god is complex . what does it matter whetheer or not god is a guy/girl? god makes things beyond human comprehension, so i tend to float in confusion about the more important questions of life, not what he/she/it/whatever god is.
I think God is just a thing, neither a woman or man, Catholicism only says it is a man because back then they where very sexist. God doesn't need to be man or woman because it has no use for it, it doesn't need to reproduce. I just think it is a being of more power of any other being.

I don't really consider God to be a sex, but I personify God as the Father, a supreme and powerful authority and protector. He saves me from the trails of life, and teaches me with his wisdom and experience. Like a father, I look up to him. He is the father to the fatherless and is the provider to all his children. Women are men with a womb (Womb-man) and do not differ in thinking capabilities.
If God was a "mother", ("giving birth") to the universe itself, and if Adam was made in the image of God, is there a need for God to reproduce? I think everyone's view on god is important... to THEM. How I see God? Just like in the bible. Not quite a normal person, but definately with a personallity. I think a mysterious force is just missing how God really is, you miss a lot of wonderfull things of him. He isn't a boring bearded bloke.

i believe that the force you describe is best quantified, classified, categorized, and personified the way it had been for pretty much ever here in our european culture: theres a big guy on top, (i.e. Jupiter) ruling over (ish) the different parts of nature and the many phenomena that occur in our lives, like love, war, and fire (Venus, Mars, and Vulcan, respectively.) it seems almost organic, paralleling the way the mind regulates the many organs in the body.

So, I suppose, in a sense, I might not be an athiest. But, I still think that this power that controls does not want us to avoid sin, mutilate our own bodies, or wants us to perform rituals or give sacrifices or anything like that. I simply believe that it just is, and so are we.

I appreciate that GraysAlt. I do have a problem with your usage of the word free-will. We have free will in a sense that we have the ability to choose between right and wrong. However, that does not mean we have free will. If we really had free will we could do what we want when we want,which includes disobeying the laws of physics and nature. God to me is A force with no ture physical being that has control over events and happenings in the world.
And I belive a reason why we pray for things to happen is that we believe that the force of God will allow events to flow in our favor. And the reson we have Sin is to create of gide line for us to not pray for things that'd hurt us and other people. I was exposed to Catholicism, then checked out the Unitarians, then I was Altruistic/Agnostic...to say, I simply did not know. Then God showed up!~ AS pure Energy ~ a bluish white light.. This LIGHT was Unconditional Love ( just words until one GETS the Transcendent reality of THAT). 10 years later came part 2. Grace Struck and fully awakened my own dormant Kundalini energy.. In that moment I GOT who Jesus, Krishna, Buddha & myself ALL really were~Perfect Consciousness. All are infnite ONE.

Well I think God is our brain, and our heart because without either of them. you are dead. You start to disolve in the later future in your coffins. So you need your brain and your heart in order to at least survive as a human or whatever. But other then that I do have a 2nd belief about God being a tool much like xxFurtunadoxx is talking about. My beliefs are if you really want to know how we got hear, you got to find out for yourself and leave your beliefs on the side. You'll confuse yourself.
God is nothing to me. God is merely a tool to anthropomorphicize unknown phenomena. Humans have an uncanny tendency to not only see patterns where none exist (aphrophenia), but also a need to provide explanations for things that they don't have explanations for. Even if said explanations are erroneous.
In short, god is a tool to provide emotional security for people who desire answers to unanswered questions such as "why are we here" "what is the meaning of life." However it is a false alarm.

I often ask and have excellent debates on religion with friends, I may not be at all religious, but I find religion fascinating, learning why believe what they believe :)

If the biblical God was a physical entity, wouldn't it be a asexual/unisexual? I mean, it's a singular being. It has no sexual counterpart, so it can't be male or female.
As for my own personal opinion, God does not exist. Gods do not exist. But, just my opinion. In terms of the philosophical conundrum that the deity concept applies to how people relate to the universe? I just can't comprehend something that large and encompassing without it actually existing. It's annoying to try.

Sorry, I couldn't fit all I had to say in 500 characters. I'll start where I left off. I personally believe in the Christian God. Part of that is believing there is only one way to God. I'm still open minded, though. If there is a thinking, personal God, then sholdn't there be only one way to Him? Different religions contradict each other. I don't really consider God to be a sex, but I personify God as the Father, a supreme and powerful authority and protector. He saves me from the trails of life, and teaches me with his wisdom and experience. Like a father, I look up to him. He is the father to the fatherless and is the provider to all his children. I think everyone's view on god is important... to THEM. A view on god should be an ever changing journey of discovery, not a dogmatic view that can't be changed. to be open minded you need to have the ability to let go of an idea, even if it is very precious to you, if you come across something that seems, if just to you, to make more sense. How I see God? Just like in the bible. Not quite a normal person, but definately with a personallity. I think a mysterious force is just missing how God really is, you miss a lot of wonderfull things of him. He isn't a boring bearded bloke.

I mean yes I do follow a philosophy called the "Spiritist" but I think religion is a mind warfare. i believe that the force you describe is best quantified, classified, categorized, and personified the way it had been for pretty much ever here in our european culture: theres a big guy on top, (i.e. Jupiter) ruling over (ish) the different parts of nature and the many phenomena that occur in our lives, like love, war, and fire (Venus, Mars, and Vulcan, respectively.) it seems almost organic, paralleling the way the mind regulates the many organs in the body.

I'm an Atheist, but I do believe that there is some... force that controls the universe, and has a mind of it's own.
So, I suppose, in a sense, I might not be an athiest. But, I still think that this power that controls does not want us to avoid sin, mutilate our own bodies, or wants us to perform rituals or give sacrifices or anything like that. I simply believe that it just is, and so are we.

I believe God is an idea that can bring light to life, I mean, if I heard correctly, a friend of mine used to get molested by her dad, & anyone'd be pissed if that happened. congrats nubs! Were gonna go with the presumption the big bang happened. Even know there is no scientific evidence and no one was there and if the big bang actually happened who created the first cells/atom or w/e that made it possible to explode?also, how come there were only two atoms in the empty space?no one can tell you. Christianity can. BTW no scientist/arrcheologist has ever been able to prove the Bible is false.

I was exposed to Catholicism, then checked out the Unitarians, then I was Altruistic/Agnostic...to say, I simply did not know. Then God showed up!~ AS pure Energy ~ a bluish white light.. This LIGHT was Unconditional Love ( just words until one GETS the Transcendent reality of THAT). 10 years later came part 2. Grace Struck and fully awakened my own dormant Kundalini energy.. Ok well let me explain my personal point of view.
If you build a catapult and it dosent work,than its the fact that we have free will.
God made us with free will becuase he didnt want us to HAVE to love him.
Basicly i think personaly god made us unperfect becuase we would need to go to him for forgivness,etc,etc. I also think in response to blunty3000 that god isnt a Man Or A Woman but just a Somthing. Without a body. Becuase according to Catholicism Jesus was the one to have a human body.

i think religion is a danger to democracy because a lot of it is dictated from an authority, some "I know more" kind of person, which is scary, because, as i see it, that person too, is wrong, and to take that persons thoughts as your own, will lead to destruction and doom of human kind

If God doesn't have to have a cause, then why does the big bang need a cause. could you not apply religious logic to normal logic?

Well I think God is our brain, and our heart because without either of them. you are dead. You start to disolve in the later future in your coffins. So you need your brain and your heart in order to at least survive as a human or whatever. But other then that I do have a 2nd belief about God being a tool much like xxFurtunadoxx is talking about. My beliefs are if you really want to know how we got hear, you got to find out for yourself and leave your beliefs on the side. You'll confuse yourself.

God is nothing to me. God is merely a tool to anthropomorphicize unknown phenomena. Humans have an uncanny tendency to not only see patterns where none exist (aphrophenia), but also a need to provide explanations for things that they don't have explanations for. Even if said explanations are erroneous.
In short, god is a tool to provide emotional security for people who desire answers to unanswered questions such as "why are we here" "what is the meaning of life." However it is a false alarm.

i honestly dont know but i've had really long discussions with my dad and i can understand what he thinks he says: god has no image. he/she just is. no element of time. he doesn't believe in the trinity (confusing to me) i agree with you about most of it, i just have a really hard time because of bad experiences. dad says i can't get past the image...peace blunty love ya!
