  • CLASSIC HITS ALL DAY !! PARADISE GARAGE ,,

  • we went wild! when this played at the PG! Nothing but Paradise!

  • Don't forget "Fine Young Tender" & "Confusion". LOVE IT!!!

  • this still is the shitttt! leroy burgess vocals just slay everything they grace. pure enhancement. the arrangement on this song picks me & slamms me on concrete. so superb, so overwhelmingly clever & sophisticated... one of my all time underground classics

  • @daryllharris Leroy is the man. I mess with him from day 1. Black Ivory, Aleem, Caprice all the rest. Feel good music 4 sure!

  • @MrKevin619ism

INDEED!!! LEROY IS THE MAN. & i have always loved his music whether poduction or singing. "hooked on your love" & 'Summertime" r 2 of my all time fav ja,s of his as well. but the many levels of orchestration in let's do it, jus rock on; the piano cords, the string arrangment, the basslines subliminal drive, the back ground arrangement argh!!!remind me a complex roy ayers production, so much going on yet feels so concise, smooth, & belowing out thick intensity. EAR INTOXICATION!

  • Another NYC//Philly production..this part of the world was THE incubator for most of today's popular dance musics.

  • Leroy Burgess was & still is the lead singer of Black ivory who gave us classic Soul jams in the 70s such as Don't Turn Around, You & I & Time Is Love. He also produced the Disco classic Mainline for Black Ivory. Leroy is also behind the club classic Release Yourself by The Aleems. Leroy is behind a whole lot of classics & this Summer, Black Ivory celebrated their 40th year performing & has ALL THREE ORIGINAL MEMBERS!

  • @lstaley315 I remember this well, my freshman year in HS, late-1980. But 98.7 'Kiss' FM was still 99.1 WXLO back then. The very next summer they moved down the dial and changed their call letters.

  • I wish you all could know how we used to lose it when this came on!!! I only wish that I could play it in a club so you could feel this joint! N.Y.C./NJ all day! It's sooo not how it used to be! We need a Democrat !

  • When this song hit the air n the 80's I didn't know that Leroy Burgess was sing this hit..This was a big hit with me & still is....Thanks 4 posting this great hit Heyroz27............

  • I had larrys unreleased remix of this. This song means as much to me as the national athemn means to vets.Peace

    brett

  • you mean the onthe one with the little keyboard riff mixed in the intro? I only heard larry play that twice, been looking for that and his New Birth Deeper remix ever since.

  • Excellent song

  • Many moons ago, I had a very poor 3 minute recording of this on a screwed up Agfa tape. ( taped from a pirate radio - the interference was terrible ) These 3 minutes were played to death all the same. Finally got hold of a 12 inch bootleg copy some years later( CD's since) - but am still irrationally and laughably attached to that very worn out poor cassette recording. Fun days.

Check out Leroy's involvement with Black Ivory and Logg.

  • awe! thanks for sharing your wonderful memory of this song. That's was interesting to hear.

  • I finally found this song on Itunes, I was so happy after hearing this song while growing up in Kiss Fm's mixes.

  • yea i taped it from kissfm this summer and played it to death, to the point where its almost destroyed lol.

  • I am only 24 years old and love disco music and I think that the late 70s and early 80s had the best music ever. The music during that time was the best music to dance to. I first had that song on the radio in New York in 2002 so they still play it on the radio in New York occasionally. I live in Naples Florida now though where this music isn't popular.

  • I am so glad to find this song on here. It is really nice to find songs that most people don't know about.

  • sends shivers down my spine.....listening to LWR and kiss FM in the 80's !!!!

    the freshest music in town!!

    Madhatters in Hackney !!

  • i first this cut at club zanibar in newark hj the ulimate disco trip

  • nice...i have been looking for this one for a very long time...Good look on this...

  • Great Jam, excellent skate groove

  • Sing it Leroy!!!

  • been looking for this song for years one of my all time favorite party songs. reminds me of the roller skating days.

  • This was the jam back in the day! I love this song. Thank you for posting.

  • ur welcome :0)

  • I had never heard this song until 2004, and I did find out that it was released in 1980. Never was played on the radio where I lived back then, and I don't remember hearing it at any parties because I would've surely remembered this very soulful track without a doubt. Thankfully I did discover it and its been one of my favorite tracks ever since, better late than never.

  • If you lived in New York you would have heard

this occasionally on the radio; more of an underground club hit for the Hustle dance crowd.

  • Most def was in rotation on Bls, Ktu and Xlo...dope cut

  • Takes me back to when parties were parties in the early house era. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanx for posting!! Great song.
